Just a matter of time right on it did not take long for the gloves come off Republicans fighting -- the nomination for 2012 Rick Santorum.

Is hammering Mitt Romney over his refusal to sign a pro life pledge.

Current polling finds the former Massachusetts governor Romney the front runner in the race but.

This man wants to change that that man is Rick Santorum.

He's been -- -- nineteen times and senator good morning to you and welcome back here to America -- newsroom.

We played the Huntsman -- a little bit about ten minutes ago that he's been riding literally for about over the past week -- so.

You put out an -- late yesterday that responds directly to Huntsman I want our viewers because there were no words.

-- better spoken and there -- only words on the screen so let's watch this carefully.

And come back and talk about.

You're going after Romney you're going after Huntsman.

-- second cardinal sin in Republican politics what's going on.

Well Arthel good natured fun that that and I you know it governor Huntsman is the unorthodox.

Is that -- about it the what what is unorthodox in my opinion is we have to.

Republican candidates running for president.

Who refused to sign a pledge that is not a tough pledged to sign -- says it's the Susan B.

Anthony which is -- A great group in in Washington DC that supports the particularly pro life women who run for office and and what what they collected pledges simply that -- to appoint people.

To positions of importance of the pro life community attorney general director of health and human -- director of NIH and and secretary of health and human services that are pro life because they -- important issues for those three positions not everybody just those three positions -- one's very similar to that.

And then you'll basically sign on all the pro life legislation that's been in congress and we're not talking about.

They -- -- constitutional amendment they're not talking about rape and incest exceptions this is a pretty low bar for any pro life candidate to sign.

And those two gentlemen won't sign on I think that's Arenas and point reason why it.

Issue is so important because he.

Give a lot of conservative voters frankly in Iowa you know Mike Huckabee showed that just dial 30 look you're welcome well is strongly pro life -- whoever's gonna get this nomination I believe is going to be strongly pro life and and I think it needs to be pointed out -- there's.

There's people in the field like Mitt Romney like Jon Huntsman soon to be in the field and Herman Cain who won't sign that pledge to.

I think it I think that's a distinguishing point and you know look as -- as this campaign goes on we're gonna start distinguishing ourselves I mean that the focus is still an Obama bad.

You know we have to provide a choice for people as to decide they want to be their nominee but my point is in 2008 that's what brought Mike Huckabee a victory in Iowa.

But the conservative voters that comment about I don't know I would only about -- fact that I'm I'm I'm a proud social conservative I talk about these issues there are there issues that are important.

I believe not just -- I but in this country that you know we we have a country that respects life and the dignity of every human person and and I'm gonna I'm gonna talk about those issues and they're gonna be equal at the core of what I do.

You are running uphill.

Based on some of the polling we've watched.

And the one poll we can show from the Wall Street Journal that was out just recently.

I don't hear the top -- -- you're nowhere to be found that Romney at 30% Rick Perry at the bottom at a percent -- below bats.

So you've got some work to do it -- you try also to shift the focus on President Obama.

You set a comment recently maybe he's eating mushrooms I don't know what he's doing you can't make this up.

What does that.

May have a second about Eric Holder and his comment yesterday aired a day before care memory is as yesterday where it.

He was saying that the greatest told that that the United States has in fighting terrorism is our civilian court system.

Which is remarkable that they attorney general the United States -- say the greatest -- we have.

Against those who break every conceivable.

You know -- law to known to man to do destruction on society.

The greatest -- we have is to give them constitutional rights of every man woman and America have.

Provide them all the legal protection may possibly have in order for us to be able to investigate them.

That is just I it's it's counter to any reality that I'm aware of and that's why through that comment in that.

He must be under some influence because he certainly isn't thinking clearly.

Thank you for your time today senator we're gonna speak again nineteen times in Iowa.

Twenty times in New Hampshire you -- gaining traction.

All yeah there's no question and elect.

You know these national polls they're great but they they don't they measure California -- they met they don't measure what's gone -- Iowa New Hampshire and they don't measure what.

The aggressor that activists are doing we're doing very well out here I'm very excited about that the response and I'm getting and now I'm I'm looking -- to -- thank.

It is retail politics it is door to door in that -- as you well know Rick Sands right we'll see it on the wrote thank you.

-- -- well today aren't.
