I -- Michelle Bachmann.

I am running for the president of the United States.

-- she just couldn't beat Mitt Romney's grand old party -- because Michelle Bachmann downwind.

And next to admit now leave them.

But while these two battle it out of the media you might want to pay attention to the guy at all but written off by the media but still I need to up.

In the polls I'm speaking about the speaker.

The man who -- a Republican revolution of the 1990s it might be doing something.

Just as remarkable right now obviously coming back.

-- don't look now but former house speaker Newt Gingrich is far from dead polling fourth in the latest Iowa caucus -- Up next in our -- -- Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich Newt good to have you.

-- do it I looked at that poll of -- I did a double sonic I was I was surprised -- -- -- -- I think that in the Shell's done a great job and is an eighty violent she has a good base out there.

Present about you have I didn't expect it could be that -- I -- -- Fonts -- -- because she's a strategies.

Earned it.

In my case we've had a steady base of support.

All through the last month of media attacks and the fact is I was just in -- all on Saturday with the tea parties and talking to people about ideas.

About creating jobs cutting taxes.

Repealing the Dodd-Frank bill and then the other bills that are over regulating America and I found a very good response.

I'll be back I think sixteen days the next two months in Iowa.

Campaigning listening to people and talking about a series of issues that are.

A little different I think than you normally get in traditional politics is I think with fourteen million unemployed.

And with housing in a depression level collapse.

Deeper fall in price than during the Great Depression.

You really need very bold very new policies and that's the reason I'm running I think is possible to turn this country around dramatically.

To have an American energy policy.

They're the kind of really dramatic tax changes that would lead do.

Millions of new jobs.

-- and in the process to bring back housing so people who currently don't have mortgages that are.

Worth less -- -- house could once again have a house is worth something by seeing the general economy rise dramatically.

Didn't you make it compelling case of a number of the answers but what gets there's severe attention.

Of the media has all these.

People who resigned mastery -- camp and they they start raising questions about your wife as she too influential.

Kowtowing terror I'm -- it just it it reads like a soap opera is it.

Well look I I think it's frankly strange.

There -- fourteen million unemployed.

When you make a speech that outlines.

Why we should zero capital gains tax of people would invest hundreds of billions -- US why would have a twelve and a half percent.

Corporate tax rate so that we would unlock a trillion dollars in profits up overseas and actually companies like general elected to pay taxes.

Instead of paying tax -- why we ought to eliminate the death tax -- the family firms would focus on job creation.

Rather than on avoiding tax policy.

I'm finally -- we have a 100% cash expensing so every new piece of equipment in America including farmers.

Would deal to write it off in one year so we have the most modern most productive most effective workers the world now how would think with fourteen million unemployed.

Those -- a pretty good topics of the news media cover.

But it's very difficult to get past the gossip and get into substance and I'm determined to keep campaigning and keep focusing on substance.

An Arab company you know -- they did they judge look at candidates worthiness or that high office or how -- handles.

Not only his campaign but maybe his personal life and that's on -- fair or right it just says.

So I guess what I'm trying to -- you know -- when they say they can't reach you they like and admire your position and here's his.

-- never smart to -- history inside now.

-- -- -- -- A lot of -- it's it's less that they couldn't get thrown you on that couldn't reach -- on the debate they felt you were being dictated to by your wife.

-- -- I do not -- just say flatly.

I run my own campaign.

I developed a contract with America would know consultant in Washington believe -- We balance the federal budget when no consultant in Washington thought it was possible.

I helped Ronald Reagan in 1980.

When thirteen senior staff left in the morning of the New Hampshire primary and over a hundred staff were laid off two weeks later.

I think the turmoil is frankly irrelevant.

What matters is with fourteen million unemployed with the national capital out of control with a two trillion dollar deficit.

Can you find somebody who had -- knows what the challenges are has real solutions.

And has a track record of actually getting it done.

When you look at welfare reform the largest entitlement reform in our lifetime.

Was something I helped get done -- speaker of the house so I'm prepared to talk about substance longer I hope that the news media can talk about gossip and I believe what is.

I think there's a -- right there I mean when when you when your staff.

Resigned to the degree it has your top advisors lead to the degree that now are at it as a -- exaggerated well -- -- I'm -- -- The perception -- LA people of their concerns is that your rudderless right now.

Are now you know nobody in -- -- At the Tea Party gathered not a single person.

Asked me the kind of questions that dominate the elite media.

And that's been true everywhere I've -- when you talk with -- Americans who worry about the economy they don't worry much about this stuff they wanna know do you have solutions that'll work.

-- and do you understand the constitution of the declaration dependents you wanna get back to constitutional government.

But those ideas don't seem to resonate very well in some of the Talking Heads the boy -- resonate well.

I gotta tell him I don't think on the elite media and I don't think I'm just talking -- I'm just concerned as being a business guy -- -- companies.

They're -- that lost on distractions and otherwise get away from their mission to make money.

Or there and -- ended suits suits deliver for their shareholders something akin to that has happened.

Soon you may be unfairly against you.

But how deal how do you tell people you are not a candidate to be sold short.

Well first of all by not being distracted but focusing on substance and talking about the solutions -- -- is a country and second by reminding people.

The Ronald Reagan had exactly the same challenges in 1980 John McCain had exactly the same challenges in 2007.

Both of them work through it because in the end it turn out the candidates matter more than the consultants.

And I would just suggest to you that the track record we've had.

Help elect the first Republican majority in history I'm forty years of history the first reelected majority since 1928.

-- help balance the budget for four straight years paying off 405 billion dollars in debt.

Helping pass the first tax cut in sixteen years helping pass welfare reform.

Those are real achievements now that I have some arguments with political consultants you -- Did most of my team the people who have been with me for the last twelve years -- by the way I was running for small businesses did my team tend to stay with me.

Absolutely we lost one person on the original team all the people made all the noise -- paid consultants who turned out have a fundamental difference -- me.

Not anybody else with me about how we ought to campaign.

I believe in campaigning on ideas.

Haven't gone all over the country talking about ideas I wanna keep talking about what were they telling you shouldn't do editor you're obviously going -- system.

Well I don't get a lot to detail but I am determined.

To run a campaign that is inclusive.

That involves Hispanic Americans African Americans native Americans Asian Americans that involves people or it shouldn't topics other than traditional politics.

-- campaign on how do we deal with alzheimer's.

Which really affects millions of Americans.

I want to campaign on issues such as how to we fundamentally reform the Food and Drug Administration so we can create American jobs with the best new medicines.

And I think sometimes you get consultants who like to run 32 attack ads and they don't exactly understand this idea of putting together real solutions.

Trusting in the intelligence the American people I wrote a book called a nation like no other.

I think it's a very important part of the campaign.

Because it takes you back to the declaration of -- the founding fathers the constitution.

How would Washington run today if it was -- -- the founding fathers intended.

All right now let's talk a little bit about the environment right now than what's on your college -- -- tripping over themselves and it.

See whose tax cuts to be the biggest who can offer you know even -- zero cap gains greater you know how does.

Do you.

Feared that that's overdoing it that that there could be a pell mell rush to over do the tax cut -- order or dot.

I believe the Washington establishment.

Is so determined to raise taxes.

That having candidates who -- for tax cuts is a very healthy alternative.

I -- discussions yesterday would be able talked about we have to raise revenue.

And I thought you know what Republicans ought to be saying is Ronald Reagan raise revenue by cutting taxes for three straight years.

If if you took the Reagan first seven years of recovery starting in the fall to 92.

You applied it to the current economy and the current population.

We create 25 million new jobs.

We would add 4000000000400.

Billion dollars to the economy annually and we've increased federal revenue 800 billion dollars a year.

By having people leave unemployment.

And go back to work.

Now that increases revenue the right way which is putting Americans to work.

Rather than raising taxes or tax hikes would certainly be off the -- so three you know if you were -- -- congress right now I'd say nothing of becoming president.

And and you knew what the the choice was added as early August might be minute late August debt deadlock.

If in that mix -- attacks -- of any sort you would rather -- States that debt crisis head on and not raise the debt limit horror or.

Mix -- -- a second now I reject.

The Obama technique.

Of pretending he's not president and states.

The fact is if there's a debt crisis this saw this fall it'll be president Obama's debt crisis it'll be his refusal.

To sign a bill the house Republicans are gonna pass a bill -- avoid a debt crisis he just has to sign.

So why is it if they pass a bill that avoids a debt crisis.

It's somehow they're responsible audited sellout to the president.

Give up on the people who elected him turned -- back -- what the American people want in order for Obama not to blame them.

I think the data said the president.

You come up with the amount of savings you'll design and we'll give you exactly this guy's dead increase the -- prepared -- savings that's on.

-- and that's a billion dollar for dollar whatever -- rest -- the ceiling but not a not a penny more or sale would be on him if we don't do that but wouldn't it be on Republicans as well.

Why of course he's gonna try to blame on the most of the lead -- try to blame them but I believe an Iowa I lived through this one's.

The first reelected majority Republicans since nineteen when he came after the government shutdown and it came because people thought we were serious.

We had courage and -- to stand up for principle.

And I think the Republicans this year ought to look the president the -- and say we're not giving you opinion increase taxes to kill even more jobs -- the middle of the Obama depression.

We're not gonna let you make it worse.

And then how to say them.

You know let's let's negotiate the spending cuts you'll sign and if he says he won't sign any spending cuts I articulate any support in 80% or more the country.

All right speaker always good having you -- thank you very much Newt Gingrich.

Well he's certainly wanna hear from you -- it's been with a number on the presidential candidates and prospective candidates in the -- want answers.

Who do you think men has the best plan to create jobs you can head over to foxnews.com slash.

Your world and -- Mean.
