Tiger shot of the morning this is governor Mike Huckabee there.
He's MI something is fishy about it he -- -- this week on our show because apparently he was busy in the Gulf of Mexico doing some fishing.
For the governor smooth -- hungry.
Then you really wanna I wanna yeah I'm -- -- too insecure probably ran them and remove the fishing outfit while the -- to believe.
More on things -- governors do with fishing props we're joined right now by Tim Pawlenty and former governor of the -- in Minnesota and more Andrea good morning Steve you think Mike Huckabee actually caught most.
The thing I'm worried about and that picture's the -- legs look a little -- -- little bronze or some something and some sun and and -- can't.
And Indian he has five days off we just -- weekend trying to help you could be some good look at fish on -- -- -- -- -- And -- are up one thing you do wanna do that Mike Huckabee is done is a year ago a bit a year before he actually won Iowa.
At about right now he was in 4% approval rating for -- 4% of the vote in Iowa.
You got six he ended up winning Iowa do you see some luck and some similarities L absolutely we do but the other thing is don't put any stock in these early polls if they had any meaning at all.
Rudy Rudy Giuliani or Hillary Clinton would be present United States at this point in the race they were 1020 or more points ahead of their competitors.
These early polls never predict almost never predict the final outcome of the injury.
Yet that had to be disappointing for you to get 6% because you have spent some time.
In Iowa why do you think that you haven't resonated there -- more thus far.
Well since that -- started we started some TV ads -- some radio -- them to be spending even more time down there so this like the warm ups and a sporting game in the warm ups are now over pre season may be underway.
But the real campaign is just about to start and I think you'll see a different picture come fall and winter and governor speaking of the new radio -- you take a shot and it Romney -- some saved.
You're taking a shot at Michelle Bachmann as well.
Well the -- focuses on these things do health care the right way no mandates no takeovers and number two as we -- -- a shot at Romney okay.
And then secondly.
Pick people who actually have results who have executive leadership we don't just talk about reducing spending cutting taxes doing health care the right way -- the like.
But we need to emphasize people who don't just have the rhetoric but have the results and I did it in a very blue places state of Minnesota would you think.
Now is the time to start separating yourself from the other Republicans will still showing respect.
And you could be looking at a congresswoman in which he did and then the surge -- she's experiencing and what you feel you did in Minnesota.
I think as you look to the challenges that of the the president.
-- presents she got to have somebody who's got executive experience -- run something large and hasn't just issued speeches or statements but this is achieved results I'll put my record results up against anybody in this race it's the best record.
You had a guest on earlier from the Club for Growth Cato Institute gave four governors total and a great for fiscal discipline and management in this country the other three are running for president for -- I'm Michelle -- announced yesterday I was one of the four by the -- They put out she officially announced yesterday at this woman in the race changed the tone changed the dynamic it'll.
Everybody brings something different to the table I like congresswoman Bachmann -- knoller -- campaign for -- Specter.
But again everybody bring something different to the table I actually move the needle on all the stuff that people talk about reducing spending reducing taxes.
Health Care Reform education reform public employee pension reform and not only talked about it -- -- -- in one of the most difficult political environments in the country.
It wouldn't do it Minnesota we can do it anyway let's back up just a second you mention the guy from Club for Growth who was with us about fifteen minutes ago.
He's he -- you very hard marks for taxes and spending you kept them both down.
But he did have a problem Club for Growth had a problem with your cap and trade.
Yeah -- got a problem with my cap and trade stance on announced that Steve why I look at it as almost every major candidate in the race did some not the only one and just -- -- asked about it sure but more importantly.
Several years ago two years ago so that's a bad idea I was wrong and -- and -- issued a statement don't ever change your mind.
Well it's also was a bad idea and I recognize that so and to have -- that position -- -- into the say say the same thing but for different reasons he endorsed it.
He was supportive of -- -- -- -- with our economic situation right now now's not the time that's different from -- -- saying.
You have -- I -- denounced it for Friday reasons one of which is the science is bad.
And it's -- great dispute do you believe that there is no such thing as global warming think that's trumped up by people out there who wanna get on the Green agenda.
Well I'm old enough to remember -- and when people were predicting there was going to be the next ice age so there is climate change -- always been climate change.
But until recently people worried as much about.
A global cooling so there is climate change.
But the reality of it is the science indicates most of it if not all of -- is caused by natural causes.
And as to the potential human contribution to that there's a great scientific dispute about that very -- -- Today you're going of the council on foreign relations to -- -- foreign policy speech what's your main point that you -- -- The main point is focused on the Middle East in the -- spring into it to President Obama and two Republicans now is not the time to retrench now's not the time to withdraw we have a moment of opportunity to advance freedom.
In the Middle East and we need to lead that effort not shrink from.
-- each so each country has different demands in this arguably is as difficult as we've ever experience for example.
To the present mess up not supporting I think Mubarak that he messed up by not going quick court to have -- -- where he stands.
Well the administration's response to Egypt -- was confused you know had Hillary Clinton saying the situation was stable analysts and two weeks later Mubarak was gone.
He did the vice president saying Mubarak's not a dictator yes he has you had.
A -- her go to before the president then over to Europe and say we said Mubarak must go but we really didn't mean it.
You have you had him push.
The director of our intelligence go before congress and say the Muslim Brotherhood is a quote unquote largely secular organizational know it's not there so I mean they were obviously caught off guard but worse yet they were confused and hesitant.
Mubarak was a dictator and we should have been working out over six days but six years trying to move him from the continuum of Tierney.
Towards freedom as we talk about the budget deficit ceiling -- guests talking about cutting military spending -- Tim Pawlenty.
I don't support cutting the defense budget you can slow down the -- she can re prioritize and you can make it more efficient but if you believe what I believe about defense.
We need to maintain our commitment to defense in this country in the way forward on spending.
Is to fix entitlements in the rest of the budget.
So governor what's the one thing people don't know about Timbaland didn't wanna get out there.
-- Steve and I were talking in Paul -- about Lady Gaga he has an affinity for lady got.
And I realized I didn't know that I know I'm so happy that originated in Italy I thought born this way was it interest even was it interest in bad romance -- -- -- -- -- sure did on that.
Is trying to get a book on that Mike Huckabee has pasty white legs comrades true bill doubles and -- hot was waxing.
Well -- -- that popped up.
-- the Huckabee show this weekend.
That investors anxious if they -- governor thanks for nothing I would get a -- today -- -- --
