And that tropical storm -- our second start of the season Jon Scott and I think today should be.

National jumped through the sprinkler day because we are dealing with extreme heat.

Across the midwest the upper Mississippi Valley and this heat.

Wave could be actually worse than the last one so we are particularly concerned with the elderly.

And the young ones so make sure that they are indoors.

Out of harm's way and in where it's -- the air conditioning.

He advisories again upper Mississippi Valley -- mid west region where heat indices that means the actual temperature.

And the humidity combined is going to make it feel anywhere from a 105.

To a 115.

Degrees not only today.

But through much of the work -- so again it's not only heat and the high temperatures it's going to be good to ration that it's going to last all week.

These are your current temperatures look -- wanna -- -- 91 in Minneapolis.

But look at the heat index what it feels like with the humidity outside 102 it feels like in -- 95 in Davenport 104.

In Minneapolis so.

Places that don't typically see this type of heat are going to be dealing with incredibly dangerous weather.

There's your forecast heat index this is where the heart of the heat is going to be across the midwest.

The upper Mississippi Valley and then it's eventually going to spread.

-- so take a look at this shares are dome of high pressure out building in throughout the week and then it's eventually going to push eastward.

So across the Mississippi Valley the -- -- Ohio River valley.

This high pressure is going to move eastward and is going to be long lived and not going to break down any time soon so the heat.

Is going to continue.

And as John mentioned were also talking about the tropics but I want to make mention that we do have the potential for severe weather today across the upper midwest and the Great Lakes.

Where we have a severe thunderstorm watch -- -- fact.

But correct here not going to affect anyone we do expect to strengthen.

But it's going to continue to be well offshore so there's some good news.

That's -- some bad news as well back to you John RI.
