And -- on the 2012 Summer Olympics is only a year away and while athletes are holding their bodies in preparation what how they how prepared they are spiritually.

-- Shelton has been appointed the evangelism chairman for the organization -- Big Apple London 2012.

Chaplains to the world's olympians He joins me now from DC to explain more about this ministry welcome frank.

Lauren is an honor to be back with you thank you -- what is this ministry about.

Well doctors say -- -- from Dallas Texas has done every single Olympics as the 84 games in Los Angeles.

And He learned long ago that it's one thing to bring home the gold.

But it's internally different moment point people to god so He felt the lord was leading him to partner.

And to serve alongside with the Olympics with some of our world class athletes.

And He actually led Carl lewis' father the nine time gold medalists Olympian of the century.

He let his father to the lord on his death bed.

And they struck a great relationship and not -- and I was just together in Dallas and march where we both for keynote speakers at an event with doctor meanings and we're just excited about not only sharing the gospel.

With some of our athletes but as you know fans from around the globe are not only -- -- be there personally gonna love watching it from television.

And us a chance just for us to love on them and point pentagon.

Well.

How does it actually worker you part of the Olympic.

Organization or is it totally separate.

Yeah it is totally separate the Olympic -- committee of course is one thing.

But we have been blessed I believe we've been doing it for 33 years and I believe there's another group out there and even Jesus was -- we need more labor is not less but it's just a chance to come along sides link arms and actually just served.

And I'm just strengthen.

That not only the community but the fact is the world really does need god endowed they've done every Olympics since.

84 and I'm just honored and humbled to be part.

A small part of what they're doing next year -- the Olympics is an international event and there are many people of many faiths that -- to go there are there are Mitt do you -- resentment I would I would think that.

You know many people -- -- would almost resent the idea that a Christian to -- and group is coming into the Olympics in trying to convert everybody.

Well the fact is I believe -- you know we're gonna.

Face resentment anytime we're doing what's right because anytime you shine a light -- darkness is gonna come out of the closet and anytime -- try to promote.

Positive.

The negative voices will always come if everything's easy we're probably not doing the right thing so -- we're expecting that.

But we -- prepared for that and them I believe that every athlete.

Whether present a lesbian or a world class athlete or the little guy in Little -- The fact is everybody is looking for an edge him -- we talk about faith and sports Lauren and I would suggest I've learned that prayer.

Is more powerful than the Pentagon and when we -- and -- got strength we are stronger than any steroid.

Because when we look for an edge we don't need to cheat we just -- it's happened -- Christ.

And now we're just.

Rocketed -- for the -- now do you wait for the athletes come -- you -- -- -- -- Booth set up or do you go to down.

And are there any restrictions in how you can operate.

Well that's a great question number one and I'm when I was just in Dallas -- march I had the privilege to speak at the Texas Christian high school athlete of the year award and it was 12100 people.

It was a black tie dinner.

And -- Carl Lewis was there and also for former olympians.

And at that table there was between the four of -- they won fifteen gold medals.

And -- -- -- -- is you have not only past olympians who are going with us.

But will also be a chance to be a blessing to the current olympians.

And I think it speaks volumes when some of the past olympians can go anywhere.

At any time with anybody they chose to link with lay witnesses for Christ.

And our goal is digests wherever god opens the door.

We just -- -- be on the scene just as an extension of his arms and feet.
