Your customers Wednesday payroll processor ADP reported private sector layoffs up 60%.

A sixteen month high.

Tuesday it was consumer spending falling point 2%.

The biggest monthly decline in nearly two years on top of the recent report of weaker than expected economic growth in the second quarter.

And Wall Street bracing for what could again be dismal unemployment numbers this Friday we do not believe that there is threat there of a double dip recession.

There's no question it.

Big growth has slowed over the past two quarters there's no question that job creation has slowed.

The president today blamed that slowdown on the tsunami in Japan the debt crisis in Europe and the Arab spring spiking energy prices.

But a top democratic strategists is warning that without some concrete action here at home the president is facing grave political danger next year.

Nothing they've done is.

Has worked in terms of people at home feeling like the economy's getting better in there and their job situations getting better and that's not gonna be good going in November less that turns around very quickly.

Now aides say the president will -- bus tour through the midwest later this month to -- reconnect with voters in economically distressed state.

But tonight this hour he's on his way home to Chicago for a couple of big fundraisers tickets ranging up to 35000.

As well as a concert with Jennifer Hudson another big star so there's no question he's gonna have.
