-- -- Mike told us this super committee includes twelve lawmakers here are the basics.

Of -- those twelve are being asked to accomplish.

They'll work to find -- one point two trillion dollars in deficit reduction over the next ten years.

The deadline for recommendations is November 23.

And congress has a December 23 deadline to act on those recommendations if not if it doesn't make some kind of a vote there will be an automatic.

One point two trillion dollars in cuts.

Let's talk about all this would Bob Cusack the managing editor of the hill so twelve of them they have come up with a one point two trillion dollars in cuts if I'm doing my math right and I don't do it so well with all of -- -- involved.

That's only a hundred billion dollars for each member of the committee right.

Right it should be easy right maybe it's going to be a challenge especially because a lot of these members on the super committee.

Our party loyalists so they're not dealmakers there are couple Max Baucus.

Agreed to the bush tax cuts in 2000 and got pilloried for that in his own party -- right.

That's right a lot of liberals not -- of Max Baucus He also went along with the Republican Medicare drug benefit 2003.

And Rob Portman is a -- he's wildly respected on Capitol Hill the interesting thing here is that John Boehner did not take any freshmen.

None of the 87 Republican freshman.

Of this new class were picked.

But senator Mitch McConnell -- two freshman.

Who have served in the house but that's an interesting dynamic how this goes down it's going to be very intense the press coverage is going to be.

Massive and how these members are able to deal with it is going to be very interesting to see over the next several wants yet.

It is the jockeying is kind of interest being guy I spoke with one well known member of congress who said He wasn't interested in being on this committee at all I mean some of them really wanted to be there may be from the headlines maybe for what they felt they -- accomplish.

And some -- wanted to stay miles away from right.

That's right there -- some committee chairman -- like Max Baucus like Dave Camp.

These this is there jurisdiction they have jurisdiction over Medicare Medicaid social -- -- they want to be part of it but there's a lot of speculation that a lot of members said.

No thank you.

Too much pressure I'd rather not do it and maybe the leaders had to go to not their first fix but -- second -- kind of interest in senator Dick Durbin of Illinois gets well.

Passed over in a very public way here doesn't.

I was surprised that Dick Durbin or senator Schumer was not select you don't have -- liberal firebrand in the senate that was selected.

Senator John Kerry was was criticized in 2004 for his and -- in his presidential run.

For not having huge legislative accomplishments this could be -- moment to shine a but I was surprised that you didn't see a vocal person that you see on TV a lot.

From the left.

That was selected by -- Reid likes this idea He wanted to super committee He wants to get a deal done.

And his picks suggest that that He wants a compromise will see what happens -- to believe anything gets done in this congress but mostly.
