The long road as you well -- all of these candidates whether it's congresswoman Bachmann you know governor Perry all the others are going to be tested.

And this is you know it's a big bright light that comes down on hand.

We'll see.

That was a slightly rueful.

Tim Pawlenty on ABC's this week and this is power play welcome back and -- thanks to -- -- -- for staying with us.

We are now joined -- -- -- democratic pollster -- show is many things to -- Internet but most important of all He is one of the -- of campaign confidential which you just -- -- -- still and -- hangover from -- -- -- early days you can't believe it was so good -- here we've got a double -- for you and we're very happy about that -- -- good thing.

And we're gonna go and we're gonna bring in another Republican bulls -- a -- talk about that before we do I -- get right to -- a brilliant.

-- question.

We have fantastic -- question it's from Atlanta and I think it's so fantastic because it mirrors my thinking so I think that -- -- visit in -- rule person.

Who will allege He throw his support behind now that He is out when He wants to know and -- person.

I heard when reading between the lines and plenty kept emphasizing blue state governor blue state governor please state governor last -- -- Texas -- very blue.

Sounds like there's a Romney endorsement in the making what do you guys think -- -- could be what do we know for sure you -- have Michelle Obama has.

It's true true that.

More than there's no reason for him to make an endorsement yet right my guess is -- He'll wait and see how governor Ares launch really goes He had a big splash on Saturday -- -- wanna see.

-- couple weeks of closed.

Whether or not done is he's campaigning strong with the numbers are.

Because ultimately a candidate or former kind of when they endorse they also were put themselves in good position and a absolutely you know I think you'll -- -- -- -- Secretary of something the exact OK and we'll -- when we thank you very much your wise woman indeed but now we want to bring in Republican pollster Adam -- he's in New York He has a couple of clients you may have heard of some guy named Chris Christie I think.

May be governor of New Jersey.

And we appreciate you being with -- greater being here.

It's I'm.

I'm thrilled to be here thank you so much and you know you have two dogs on the set there's so when I say I agree with Doug or disagree with that I hope I don't confuse everybody.

No no this is the best of pollster tested.

To date no matter what happens right and I do my favorite is right I -- the voter -- who loves America the most.

OK now.

I wanna get right into this is what -- -- -- -- -- saying there at the beginning of the segment talking about the focus the light that shines down on people win -- in the top tier of the race and now we pretty clearly have a Republican top tier Adam we have.

Romney Rick Perry and temple Lanny how are they gonna whether.

This new scrutiny now that doom now that we -- that we -- media can focus more of our attention on this select group.

Well you know I appreciate the the comment of the wicked media but the reality is they don't have a choice.

You know we are quickly approaching.

Caucus season and primary season and so.

It looked like it just gets brighter regardless and this is just part of the process.

I think I think Tim Pawlenty in his heart of hearts.

Knows that and you know you're right look there's going to be.

More folks who are going to be dropping out I I agree with Doug shown and in his analysis of the kinds of things that He sees happening over the next few weeks.

But the reality is time is now one of the essence you know we are just.

Mere months away from when things get completely.

Wild and you know pure political junkie -- political hack like me you just love that season who's got.

That before and roulette wheel let -- -- respond but -- who says he's been agreed with and we always like to do you have that.

Who is got the -- -- right now when you look at the numbers when you see how this is breaking down inside and by the way Internet we will talk in our next segment at length about president Obama's job approval numbers because He happens to be the guy in charge.

But when you look at it.

This -- here this scary this Bachmann and Romney how who's got the Jews right now let's numbers that can really -- -- at this point.

Well Chris I'm gonna give you like a really we easily answer so forgive me but the editor is in a way.

Each of them have some form of -- -- You know Rick Perry is the new guy and he's obviously bringing with them a lot of excitement Bachmann clearly has -- -- -- having just won the Ames straw poll.

And Romney still has lots of -- -- because he's got organization.

And copious amounts of money.

So it's hard to say that one has.

-- -- -- Or better -- Something different out.

Okay you work -- hundred is that right that was we.

I apologize I know we appreciate the -- -- an offense we don't.

All right -- It is it is there a way to pick out let's start with you since you were agreed with -- is their way to pick out which Republican.

Had this motivation and it has it -- -- right now is you know Chris I don't pull -- user engaged him we easily.

All self described better tires plus Rick Perry has got department.

Now it is still has done suggested an open question whether he'll be able to translate that to that.

Nominees have been coming and running second in the polls going to Waterloo -- -- bringing down the house and Michelle -- hometown.

All so that good now.

Sheen and Perry will fight for social conservatives -- argue that he's the job creator.

Who created 40% of the jobs that America created -- two years so he'll be playing a wide variety of fields.

The bottom line any professional looking matters at this race says this is this race is now Rick -- and it's up to Rick -- to see if he's -- -- be found.

Ronald Reagan -- friends are.

Just imagine if Adam what it -- that I disagreed with you would you respond exactly I don't have a dog.

I don't I don't love your -- I love you are all right got Doug high.

Question.

If if I'm Mitt Romney I look at -- and Bachmann.

And they're fighting over the same part of the -- They've got conservatives they've got evangelicals they have all the folks that.

That is the hardest -- -- but if I'm running I have to like the way that this top -- has shaken out because if it had been Pawlenty that got the ticket out of the straw poll it big He might be taking some votes from Romney did as it is doesn't Romney want Peary and Bachmann just to keep duking it out and you -- down.

He wants to -- results are absolutely product that benefits him.

Because they'll be criticizing each other which in theory should benefit with the third candidate but it doesn't always a good example would be the Nevada primary.

Our last last year where Sharon angle and on.

It's -- rattling and I'll and there was a theory that Danny Tarkanian within rocket to the -- but He did He just didn't happen.

It did He didn't catch fire now what we will go back and -- hoax and that we do not get any more reason -- answers on that can't guarantee anything but I'll try.

These are okay I know I'm getting mostly.

The only question the question being -- out of these out of these folks.

The -- big enough here that if Bachman holds on to let's say residual support let's say that Kerry does church and it looks like He does have the merger right now if He does surge can Bachmann if she just can hold -- to ten or 12% of the electorate or 8% of the electorate can she -- -- the nomination.

She can.

Absolutely -- -- the nomination being you know it's real simple I mean it's just essentially splitting a very conservative vote.

And allowing Romney to take up what's left I mean this is kind of class that multi candidate primary science and so ten or 12%.

Is without question and without any Weasley are waffling -- what percent is a difference maker.

No question about it OK and you know and the more and by the way the more candidates that -- -- The lower that number gaps if it's 845 person primary that number seven or 8% that could make a difference -- There -- -- didn't factor here -- fifth to appoint him.

Which is Rick Santorum He got about 10%.

She could -- -- America on a mission -- Literally.

The Blues Brothers.

-- -- -- Yeah cigarettes are we gonna thank you -- thank you dancing gee I -- -- these votes.

-- is certainly good news -- and to stop abortion and to stop gay marriage and get the vice presidential nod from Mitt Romney well that's after not I'm not gonna happen but included.

Rick Perry yeah.

Because.

I think any vote that Santorum got to get one channel and present harmonize Saturday.

I think probably becomes more apparent at this point about.
