Welcome back to foxnews.com live some -- have calls will mock ten years since that dreadful day.
-- when the United States was attacked.
In on 9/11 bill Daley former FBI -- is with me now here in the studio -- good to see you Thanksgiving -- it's a very very solemn occasion what's.
What do you what you'll remember he's all 9/11 -- -- Reflect on -- Quite -- and Johnson is that I happen to be here is cold over.
By one of produces a Fox News and -- -- -- -- helping Foxx outs as they started many years ago.
And they -- missing a small plane thought hit the World Trade Center and they came in into the studio and was on set with Jon Scott -- UUB.
We're broadcasting -- -- that time and I was there is the second plane hit Dennis all the other events of the day unfolded -- part of the morning.
Certainly a very chilling one from my perspective because.
Different and most people who seeing it on the screen in a way I was actually -- a little bit before even the public knew about it because as you know news -- would be feeding in between.
Segments and interviews -- -- an -- and you're actually you know.
Gosh just shook my head I spent years many years down -- -- trade center helping him after 93 bombing Brian deceive what was happening that day was a known about that.
The moment when the second plane hit when I think was the moment we all realize.
This is not some awful accident this is an attack what went through your mind than.
Just and I said you know this is -- the world has changed from what we've known before and unfortunately I also flashback to the 93 bombing the trade center and said.
They've come back and done what they intended to do.
There's many years before that.
So to me it was kind of that demarcation to say America is under attack certainly -- the moments following that.
As restore the tragedy unfolding down at ground zero but -- also.
As we knew -- -- planes missing in the sky the ones unaccounted for we heard a plane going down in Pennsylvania another one heading -- pentagon.
You know they truly get the sense that America was under attack and as we know it was and continues to be in many many ways to this day although I think.
Looking back to where we were then -- where we are now.
We certainly have done a tremendous amount of effort -- feel much more comfortable with the level of security we have however.
How cater what it was has changed has morphed as you all know.
It's been modified has been franchise to where will be in another ten years is up up for speculation what I -- Look at the best things we have done since nine elevenths in terms of security one of the -- things we've done.
Mean that could very good question I think the the best things we've done is certainly looking at tightening up our.
Airport security.
Are I think the other as personal homeland security and look at the -- -- like new York city police and other major police departments.
Have taken this very seriously I think that's all good.
I think -- what we've done as far as intelligence gathering and even my old organization FBI changes priority to terrorism or anti terrorism being.
Number one on its its top ten list of things to do.
Has been a a very positive.
Positive move the CIA and other intelligence agency be more active in the field vs what they were before 9/11 has been very good.
I -- we -- you know.
Analysts say the worst of things but you know my concern is is that as we get further away from that date is that people's memories start to fade.
People start to think that -- bid immune from what that it could happen again here and it's that's it that's a terrible thing you can have because.
You can't let go of that mindset that these people looking for every opportunity.
To attack us and independents who seen recently is people from our own.
Our own rank and file our own citizens who have been sometimes more -- than -- -- radicalized.
Virtually.
It's that time we can't let their guard down Jonathan because as much as we see.
Activities in Iraq can officially changed -- -- are now talking about.
They really kind of contracting over in Iraq Afghanistan.
No thoughts of kind of real wrapping up operations over there.
We can't let down our guard and think that we.
We we need to be going after the people it was seen al-Qaeda the the new number -- to to number three's.
This is always someone else you know in line and as I -- I've used the adage is that.
Once anyone of these individuals raised their head above that -- -- and -- the Specter of being a leader we need to make sure that there.
Not gonna be that kind of leader for very long.
Right up wing did go -- addressing figures from a Fox News of poll on this we -- people -- they -- the likelihood.
Of another terrorist attack was take a look of those figures now.
24%.
Say -- believe another terrorist attack is very likely compared to 31% in January 2003.
Somewhat likely -- 61%.
That's up from January 2003.
So the overall that the thing is very similar in terms of people thinking that a terrorist attack another one is somewhat all very likely so that's an important point -- from what -- saying He had not letting our guard down again from.
SO -- the of them the number below that is you know I think somewhat which is kind of -- -- drop down it was much higher before sort of you know I'm just concerned and in that area -- people think you know.
-- -- -- lessening down the lower end of that we're do you think some what may happen today I think it is it is important we keep this spectrum not to could not to create an everyday basis what people are.
What do you fear we have put in good systems we have good intelligence.
I think we're looking we're able to that we've been able to mitigate those large events up to this point.
Although we know there are people out there extremist looking to carry out there's major spectacular events but we need to keep their guard up -- and and watch and -- hello al-Qaeda -- -- -- from that central organization was ten years ago with Osama bin Laden and Khalid Sheikh Mohamed.
To being a franchise operation now we see the franchises actually.
Changing themselves and -- -- -- -- Arabian Peninsula and others are kind of taking on their own persona.
-- that will be in another five years ten years may be indicative is that the risk that we face here and homeland for.
