-- just a few hours ago newly elected elected congressman Bob Turner received a congratulatory phone call from his.

His democratic.

Turner a television executive with no political experience.

Beat -- -- -- in a special election Tuesday.

In New York for this near city for the open seat vacated by disgraced congressman Anthony Weiner.

Turner is the first Republican to represent that district.

In more than -- -- years old represented -- elect Bob Turner joins us live right here.

Sir congratulations to you will thank you -- should be shocked.

Why not expected to -- ninety years at 980 years if that's not jacket a little bit.

Well I've lived in this district my whole life I kind of have my you it to the ground I sense of the mood of the of the people when.

I'm I'm not surprised.

-- you do it because I'll tell you now the Democrats are coming out right now in part they're -- this a lot of things but we're hearing a lot of it's all Anthony -- spot.

He turned off the district with his antics of the sexting and whatever else He was doing and it just didn't want to give the -- to another Democrat.

I think and we -- is history I don't believe -- -- -- in the small factor in this campaign this is the new spin.

-- was a factor.

President Obama loud and clear -- out.

The people of this district there really unhappy.

With his treatment of Israel and the -- large Jewish district.

You very -- was jobs there were unhappy with the deficit.

They are very unhappy with -- on our inability to return to prosperity.

Is an administration that is perceived anti business.

There's enough to work on here.

But you've got Democrats to -- -- -- in this district I mean weren't enough of them.

Still in president Obama's camp to say I'm still gonna do what I've got every election in my whole life and that is.

Vote blue.

We'll I think people thinking.

And the issues a clear and -- clearer than party loyalties.

This district has voted for Republicans that voted for Giuliani who voted for Bloomberg.

And I think when the time is right and the issues are clear.

They'll cross party lines why do you think this is a harbinger of things coming in to -- and it says I believe the country is on the Ross -- put the wrong course.

Badly.

And the White House has not provided the leadership of the policies to correct it.

People are going to vote and vote against them.

When you end -- When you out in your district when you were campaigning and you talk to Democrats as you'd have to do -- -- you cannot win this district about winning -- the large number of Democrats.

What would they -- -- about president -- people say look I voted for President Obama.

But what holiday explained that the flat.

They might not even mention President Obama but the underlying issues of jobs the economy.

And that -- is being done about it would resonate constantly.

And -- the fact is there is no leadership in these -- so.

-- -- And so -- about Israel because that became a big issue the Democrats.

Put David -- for now he's -- -- -- And they've made sort of an issue of that and it was sort of like -- trust me you know I've got Israel's back.

But that didn't wind up being persuasive but Israel was a big issue in this particular -- Indeed -- did it's and mr.

weapons and I will fight from the inside.

And I said I will oppose the president and we have to send him a message that his policies will not be tolerated.

How big an issue is that you think because -- New York in general has a high Jewish population.

And it tends to vote democratic and yet we -- something very different yesterday in your little.

I think Israel was a very important issue for the launch part of the population jobs in the economy were still the overarching issue.

But Israel was very important to -- large number of people and they do not trust this president.

Bob -- thank you so much for coming and all the best here progress can.
