It was a big night for the Republican Party last night as the GOP scored two huge wins in special elections -- new York and Nevada.

Now the results -- send shockwaves through president Obama's reelection campaign.

We Begin with the historic upset here in New York City where Republican businessman Bob Turner defeated Democrat David Webb -- -- this was the race to fill the house seat vacated by former congressman Anthony -- how to put this into perspective just how big a victory this was for the GOP.

Now this district has been in democratic hands for nearly ninety years but the less bad night did not end there in -- is the second congressional district.

Republican.

Mark -- day cruise to a victory over cape -- by a margin of well over twenty points.

But of course the NC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz she claims -- defeats have nothing to do with President Obama or 2012.

-- the more laughable senator Chuck Schumer who is one of the Democrats who held the New York nine seat during that -- year timeframe.

He actually told reporters that the district is among the most conservative -- all New York City.

And you keep telling yourself that -- and joining me now for some intelligent analysis of yesterday's special elections the author of the New York Times best seller.

Courage and consequence Farr Fox News contributor the one and only the architect.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- Big really huge but it's a concern -- district.

Yeah oh well but this is a district -- Barack Obama carried by eleven points and Bob Turner won -- last night by.

By eight and He was propelled by working class -- -- who said.

We're concerned about our government spending money we don't have.

And by orthodox Jews who were concerned about the president's policies on Israel which -- as you know former mayor New York mayor Ed Koch a lifelong Democrat to support.

Bob -- selection congress today there was a brilliant piece in the Wall Street Journal by dancing or -- while Obama's lose in the Jewish vote.

And if anybody wants to understand why there's a quick -- -- a gives a strong argument a strong case as to why the policies of the Obama administration.

Have resonated so badly inside the the Jewish community did that we saw what we saw last night the end of a Democrat dominance of the seat they'd held since 1923.

Now -- me that's the amazing thing about this well there were two very key endorsements here one you just mentioned that was former mayor Ed Koch.

The second was assemblyman Democrat Doug -- can't write very going to show -- assemblyman a New York.

You know -- it's amazing thing how do you actually with a straight face say this is a very difficult district for Democrats as you pointed out.

You know literally the first Republican since Warren Harding.

In the 1920s.

You know -- three to one Democrat to Republican registration.

He's a seventy year old lizard men and never met elected they threw everything in the kitchen sink at him.

You know Social Security met a scare 500000 dollars in last man answered none of it -- -- hurt.

Don't know actually right now look as important as New York's victory is the Nevada one in some ways is even more disturbing for Democrats because look there -- writing -- they're saying.

A democratic assemblyman warp and in New York was a lousy candidate.

And this this issue of Israel is not going to be present everywhere in every race are already starting to discount.

This happen you know you can't get an Ed Koch in every district to campaign for Republican.

But in Nevada think about this -- Nevada too was carried by John McCain in the 2008 election by 88 votes 88 that was his margin.

And in this election the Democrats had a candidate they thought was picture perfect fantastic secretary of stated -- and one state wide.

Had gobs of money she was graded executing the playbook ran an ad saying that her Republican opponent mark -- -- day.

What -- to quote and Medicare.

To pay for tax breaks for millionaires and quote and they and they ran that.

The hard may have -- and He won by 28000.

Votes.

I mean think about that's -- that's a DNA twenty point 22 point victory in a district did that was essentially 4949.

In 2008.

In the presidential race so if if the Democrat playbook you know they got the best candidate they got they don't have issues like.

Is the president's policy on Israel dominating in a district -- lot of orthodox Jews they've got all the excuses they gave for New York or not president Nevada and yet they got.

They got -- I have to say in.

Full disclosure I'm -- Philly with a group called American crossroads it's been 265000.

Dollars to help bury.

-- martial under a barrage of early ballots by Republicans but that don't cover enough pull those closer but they here's the field poll comes out in California.

I don't know how Obama's team if I'm David -- today and I'm David Axelrod today I'm saying I -- out of this job as soon as I can get out.

But this now Californians have now soured on Obama so if they find themselves in a situation where they have to defend California and they have to defend New York.

It's sober I mean -- -- there's no way how are they gonna compete in Michigan Wisconsin.

How they gonna compete North Carolina Indiana and Florida and Ohio they're not going to be able to do it now.

And remember you're the road to victory for the Republicans is win the states -- McCain won.

Pick up Indiana Virginia North Carolina traditionally Republican states and Obama's was the sort of this stuff this is snuck away last time.

Win Ohio and Florida and then when -- any other state in the union.

New Hampshire Pennsylvania Michigan Wisconsin Iowa Colorado New Mexico or Nevada any one of those ones puts a Republican on the White House -- so what can we expect.
