Are welcome back to FOX & Friends this morning -- tell you all morning long of the Florida straw poll today that poll has accurately predicted the ultimate GOP nominee.

Of each of the three times it's been held George hw bush Bob Dole and Ronald Reagan in Florida governor Rick Scott says today's will be no different.

Sending the winner to the White House the -- -- with us this morning from Orleans -- on this governor.

You really believe today's straw poll will decide the GOP nominee why.

Well history -- if history history repeats itself.

The Ronald Reagan won an -- every night.

George WH as you said George hw and 87 and Bob Dole in 95 we have a big turnout.

We've got over I think 3500 delegates.

They're the activists in the states they had there are the grassroots they're the ones are gonna get out the vote.

So today is a very important day to do well here that you know I -- -- -- you I would win and we're gonna win.

I lived in Florida for quite awhile -- -- four -- or those independent voters who are not out the activist events they're not out at the straw poll events.

Could really swing this election who do you think among the candidates right now holds sway -- that I for poor.

-- I think I think there's going to be a there's a lot of interest in all of them.

The the evening where the pick governor -- governor Romney or her McCain I think Yahoo! Ron Paul they've gotten Michelle Bachmann.

You know Jon Huntsman He has -- campaign headquarters here there's a lot of interest and they know them.

People have been here they follow politics.

Not the clay -- you know one thing I agree with you there's a lot about Tea Party members that are very active they're active in my campaign right so that's your depends on how active they are today.

Right and one of the questions of course was Thursday night's debate in a reaction to that debate it was assumed that -- Florida Rick Perry would do very very well.

-- looking at some of the polling numbers and some of the reaction to Thursday night's debate it looks as if -- his.

Perhaps -- lost some of his luster down there what do you seeing them on the people you're -- you've spoken to I know you haven't endorsed anyone yet.

-- just give me your sense of what the reaction has been -- Thursday night's debate.

Well I think I think people -- excited about the debate the you know we had 5500 people here a lot of the people came to see -- let people come -- -- so -- watch though watch that debate I think you're probably swayed some people.

There's a lot of issues raised.

People know a lot more about the candidates.

But it lot of these scans have been down here for a while some people know a lot about him.

But the larger question -- Miami Herald this morning reporting of course about what's going on with your primary the GOP primary down there.

And the Miami Herald in the number of other people basically saying that you guys are trying to.

When putting the big -- like on -- -- eBay bid at the very last moment.

Trying to move up the GOP primary in your state basically throwing the rest of the party for a loop what is the plan what is your reaction to what the Republican Party is doing with the primary in Florida.

Sure.

Well as you know that wrote the White House goes right through Florida you've got to win Florida.

We've said all along we need to have our own date we need to have a date as early as possible and we -- -- you lose any of our delegates.

So.

I believe the date will be sometime in February.

Now will have her own -- -- can't -- fifth.

But we'll see what the commission does.

And a commissioner within the waiting until the last minute -- the criticism is again a connect to the eBay analogy I'm -- wait to the last second put in the bid right now right before and you basically.

End up hurting everyone else.

I don't I don't think there's like -- -- you get something for that I think.

What the Republican Party wants to make -- make sure happens -- -- the speaker of the house this -- -- -- I wanna make happiness.

You know.

Florida's important state you've got to win Florida to win the presidency.

We want her own dates we want to make sure our citizens know what you know -- they have their opportunity to do -- and.

But one thing's for sure all eyes on Florida today you'll anxiously awaiting the results of that straw poll we'll bring them here to you on Fox News a little bit later today governor Rick Scott always great to see you thanks for joining us this morning saying there.
