-- He says.
It's not a crime to be in this country without proper immigration documents and He supports a ban on.
Assault weapons not exactly hard line conservative views so now the big question is is Chris Christie.
Conservative and not to win the GOP nomination.
I hear what Brit Hume had to say about all this on FOX News Sunday take a -- The people who were chasing after.
After after governor -- remind -- of the pack of dogs chasing a car.
And it's not clear what they will do -- -- if they catch it.
This all these issues that you cited our law -- a larger set of departures from Republican and conservative orthodoxy.
Then Rick Perry's been accused of and look how much trouble he's gotten it.
And I'm just not sure that He would Wear well.
All right the man himself but He and Fox News.
-- joins us this morning.
Read -- away written words -- my man -- having here this morning welcome thanks to both of so it's actually a really great image that you sort of present and -- in a because there it almost feels like that like there's this pack of dogs kind of running after Chris Christie.
And what will they do if they catch him and I guess his folks are deciding right now if he's -- he's willing to be caught so to speak.
Well looking -- -- from his point of view it's easy to understand why he's now considering it.
Mean he's had some of the richest and most powerful influential people in the country from Tim -- known -- The Home Depot founders to Henry Kissinger and and and others coming to them and saying you know the country needs you.
And He must -- also recognizes who believes I'm sure like almost everybody else in the country that the Republicans stand a very good chance of catching the White House.
You know and winning the presidency -- -- the Super Bowl opportunity doesn't come along very often.
And if you if you miss it or pass it up for any reason it might not ever come again and He also -- to look at the possibility as a Republican He doesn't run.
And a Republican wins that there's a distinct possibility that He could be eight years before that window would open again and who knows where he'd be.
Or the country would be then so He may feel as if you know line on settle these things I didn't in this they wanna do it but.
You know this this conference in doesn't come along every day so I can understand why is agonizing -- And that's the only way He could do -- -- -- He himself points to the tape that showed all of these differences is where He was asked.
So if He did decide to change his mind He would have to come forward and say basically.
You know I I've changed my mind I don't feel that way about this anymore which would take a little bit of maneuvering -- match on his part but less well about eight go ahead -- When I was just gonna say knowledge He said that He city -- qualified or ready to be to grab it.
And that that -- biggest U it's suddenly -- He got ready over the weekend or perhaps you just come forward in that case and say.
You know way in II -- put myself before you as you have fascinated -- I'm gonna do the absolute best that I can -- the experience that I have.
And in this is what I -- plan to deal.
But we'll see but you know they're talking apparently that this group that's meeting on this.
About the state by state plan how they would actually -- and you look at the different states you look at Iowa.
Look at New Hampshire -- Californians Margaret do you see a path for him to secure the GOP nomination if He decided to do it well.
You do need in those early states.
-- -- -- Hampshire.
In particular to have an organization that can get your your supporters out to the polls and perhaps find some borders.
And if you know if you were gonna if you were a big natural hero of the of the Christian right for example He might inherit a base of Syria's support.
And the possibility of an instant organization from the from the Christian right which is very active in in the Iowa Republican caucuses.
I'm not sure we'll have that.
And New Hampshire similarly.
You know Mitt Romney and others have been operating on the ground up there for some time they have organizations put together they have money they have hierarchy to have the things you need to.
To pull out the vote.
He would have to come up with this on very short notice indeed and I'm not -- can't be done what I am saying though is it is not easy.
Yes it took us by any you know when you look on his candidacy -- the one thing that Chris Christie -- into -- corner.
Is real genuine frustration with the way things are happening in this country and I'm not sure that you're seeing happen these other candidates in the -- on the GOP side in terms of you know that passion and that regret to say you know what we're not gonna put up with that anymore folks we're gonna change what we do things that's clearly has captured the attention -- -- Yeah it's and it is a matter of governing style.
On a couple of very tough issues and that is that he's began He got control.
Of a budget that seem to the people of the state of New Jersey to be out of control and He managed to do it with in a bipartisan way which is only way could accomplish it.
And that's a significant achievement and Aaron and in this at this moment in an hour in our history.
And and He did it with a sort of a straight talking no nonsense not gonna sugarcoat it style.
That that did not remind people of every other politics and so He hasn't it is a distinctive quality about him that I think people find welcome.
On the other hand.
You know that -- there are elements of his record.
That would not be.
Popular with a lot of conservatives and I think that's been overlooked to some extent as people.
Excited about his persona and his style have -- beginning -- Now.
-- always good tax yeah thanks so much as thank you have a great day of the season.
