Good to have you here thanks -- Does senator Shelby have a point the Iranians seemed to sort of laugh and mock these sanctions in the past could they be meaningful.

They could be meaningful right now they're not working that sanctions have a history of not working when the Russians and the Chinese.

Get their hands on this and what we have is the Obama administration.

Since they've been in office they've produced one resolution on Iran compared to the bush administration's five.

So I think if you had sanctions that -- severe and swift and firm.

They could work.

But right now they're not working and the Obama administration has has waited for so long to put the next.

Resolution forward.

That talking about sanctions now is just way too little too perhaps because the president promised when He took office He was going to engage.

Iran -- that now perhaps in retrospect look.

-- -- if not foolish you know the and the idea of engaging with your enemy sounds great and I think everybody can say all that that really could work.

But it hasn't worked in with diplomacy it just doesn't work and this administration has come in almost forgetting past administrations.

Work and -- experience and just said well let's try to talk to our enemies they've been talking it has not worked.

The idea that we would be pushing sanctions now when a Saudi diplomat.

Has been targeted.

When.

You look at the history.

Of what Iran has done to American killing Americans killing Americans.

Why are we outraged suddenly now says -- status as secretary of state Hillary Clinton seemed -- surprised and outraged over this it's like Hilary Swank.

Is our secretary of saying that Hillary Clinton.

You know you have Ben Rhodes who is the spokesman for the MSC at the White House.

He was talking about.

Putting forward some sanctions because there may be a little bit more room.

To unify the international community that's what He was telling reporters the idea that this White House thinks -- the international community is united.

Is the problem they're not united we've got China and Russia going around -- sanctions if we really wanted to do something we should say the military options on the table and and we should have Russian and Chinese companies that are going around the sanctions.

Absolutely.

Being targeted by the United States government we should put pressure on those companies Rick -- -- good to see which we have more time thanks for being with -- --
