We'll Michelle -- -- that getting Donald Trump to take part in her national talent town hall tonight.

Which is kind of a phone in town hall.

Sort of set up it's apparently the first time that he's agreed to do something like -- For -- 2012 candidate after you know talking to so many of them having lunch and dinner -- most of them.

And it's certainly comes at a time when Michelle Bachmann needs a bit of a shot in the arm her numbers and tumbled.

She is now in sixth place just a few months ago that same poll had her in second place.

Only behind Mitt Romney in -- also we're joined now by Alice Stewart -- Michelle -- communications director house welcome good to have you here today.

Great to be with you Martha thank you so obviously I adopt China's any part of this they met last week we display little sound -- after her meeting she said it was a great meeting.

-- isn't what Donald Trump said this morning about participating in the -- -- town hall tonight.

Here's this from FOX & Friends this morning.

-- -- and not an endorsement not anything but -- -- do me a favor we you don't -- phone calls with lots of people.

And Chico didn't tell I guess that the town -- meeting essentially and I look forward to it I guess it's going to be for about an hour tonight.

And it's my -- to do it.

He says he's not actually do it it's gonna be at a phone in thing tonight you know what is it does this mean that Donald -- is participating in you know He says is not an endorsement.

Right it's not -- luck as you said -- the had a fantastic meeting last week.

And He was happy to help.

They agree on a lot of issues first and foremost that Obama has done a terrible job handling the economy -- we need to change things around.

They agree that China has been a bad actor in the world economy.

They agree that it's time to start producing American energy right here now and stop sending our money to OPEC.

And also it's important to create American jobs here and stop sending jobs and companies overseas so they have a lot of ideas that they share an agreement on the economy on -- -- a town hall tonight some great opportunity for them.

Share those ideas on and talk about them but most importantly it's engage the American people want to have them.

Have the opportunity to ask mr.

-- some questions and Michelle -- well.

It seems like -- it -- biggest issue in front of her right now might not be at President Obama it might be -- McCain and Mitt Romney.

And the others that are industries on the GOP side and as we showed her numbers -- have slipped quite a bet.

-- she's down -- single digits in the 6% range why do you think -- this.

Well as you as you said the numbers aren't exactly and our favor at this point but things are going to turn around Martha you a call back and 2008 at this point.

In that election it was Fred Thompson and Rudy Giuliani leading the polls and they fell to the side.

Governor Huckabee who I was working with the time was trailing in the polls and He came out.

To win the Iowa Caucuses so that's a long time between now and when people go and vote in the caucuses and the primaries and but Michelle's going to do from here on through the primaries and caucuses as what she does better than any other of the competitors in this race is retail politics she loves talking to people she's great one on ones who -- hearing what they have to say she connects with them.

Better than any of the other candidate and -- is -- that in Iowa in the early states.

As we all know that's hugely important in Iowa.

The folks in Iowa liked to have that one on one experience with these candidates as they come thrilled she's got -- putting a lot of her folks and that she really would have to win Iowa.

In that primary to turn this around is that is that the wave as -- -- -- as well.

Exactly Martha we're gonna have basically be camp down in Iowa.

Through the caucuses that's that's critical to her of course she's from Iowa.

Born in Waterloo and the people -- connect with her and her views and values on.

The social and economic issues and with her new plan that we came -- last week real jobs right now.

They see that she has a framework in place.

To help create jobs and stimulate the economy which is what people in Iowa and all the early states are talking about so.

To be spending more than thirty days in Iowa between now -- the caucus house it's interesting to see this whole Herman Cain as sort of commitment -- and the policies on -- cover of Newsweek this week he's the top.

Contender right now for the GOP nomination.

And he's he's occupying a lot of the space that -- that she was very popular and the Tea Party group and in a folks who are not part of that sort of traditional mainstream GOP.

-- take on Herman -- Well first and foremost what she does better than a lot of other candidates as well as the debates she has had tremendous debate performances.

And these are perfect opportunities for the candidates to.

Contrast themselves with each other and she will continue to outlined her plans for a job creation and improving the economy.

And Herman Cain hasn't a has a plan -- Michelle also has a framework for a broad.

Way to help improve the economy and as I said.

Being -- Iowa spending time face to face one with the people is what she does best and -- focusing on that spending quite a bit of time there in -- -- -- -- criticized him for not spend enough time in Iowa so your strategy is interesting.

In all of that -- thank you so much for talking with us today.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Encourage folks out of Michelle -- dot com to find out about the tele town hall tonight are right -- -- thank you very much take care --
