-- two year freeze on all federal salaries and immediate moratorium on new immigration.
Constitutional amendment making English the official language of the United States.
-- these -- just a few of the things that my next guest says we must do if we wanna save our country otherwise.
America as we know what could be dead by the year -- 25.
Well and -- only have ourselves to blame He says in his new book suicide of superpower for presidential candidate Pat Buchanan argues that while pursuing the perfect society of our dreams we are literally killing the country that we inherited.
The best and greatest in the world joining me now New York Times best selling author syndicated columnist Pat Buchanan Patrick.
Sir good to talk about double a joke it's inside -- talk.
You don't.
I've known you a long time.
This is well first what you wrote this but knowing that this is going to be controversial.
Why well it's.
I have called -- my last political will and testament eye chart decided to sit down for a couple of years and figure.
What happened to the country I grew up then why are we and showed tremendous trouble not only with that the state is failing to defend the borders it.
Can't balance its budget to camp and these trade deficits -- can't get manufactured.
But -- socially the country seem to be disintegrating.
Why is it and why didn't happen and usually just basically I give up now you know some of the solution you recommended Iran recommend -- -- that book.
I think they'll help solve the budget problem and some of those problems.
But I think some are problems are so deep and endemic I'm not sure they can be solved by politics.
You if you talk about it divide in America.
And you look at a from a lot of different angles but there is a real divide have to country doesn't pay any federal income taxes right we see what's happening on occupy Wall Street.
Do we get to the point where it's at tipping point and like not mountains Bible's book I.
The tipping point being that you know.
Half the country's paying for the other half and then the other half that's not paying He wants more and the country collide.
Stars John C Calhoun is predicted this half the country's space -- become tax consumers.
And the other half taxpayers a tax consumers have no incentive if they're not you know they're not paying taxes really to get the government any smaller why should day.
-- -- you've got this tremendous conflict in society but it's only one of them -- take the idea you know in the 1950s I don't care whether for Truman or Eisenhower a lot.
The country -- had a moral consensus that a moral unity a moral code basically based in the old and new testament.
Which people believed in and felt was bright and true.
Ever since the social cultural revolution of the 1960s.
That's completely collapsed and where -- I think the traditional family has collapsed and ideas of right and wrong have collapsed.
Mean -- mean we've talked with these issues gay marriage your right to life and abortion and all of these things promiscuity.
One side says well that's progressive normal and natural on the other side says that's wrong.
And these -- how do you reconcile.
You don't reconcile you don't I don't think it's irreconcilable.
But that's the source of these culture wars it constantly -- -- It's a fundamental beliefs behind them and -- them are in irreconcilable conflict.
-- two chapters the end of Christian America of the crisis of catholicism menu.
You know when you get a famous speech and I think -- was was the in 1992 and to -- and -- created a big controversy is even quoted I think -- to this day which shows the staying power to Buchanan's speech but in all seriousness.
You you really are talking about a cultural divide -- on all major scale.
And one thing that interest to me in the book.
You can you mentioned this was a desire.
The end of christianity that many a dictator one who voted -- marks open ERB -- of the people -- for the masses.
And and also was reading -- some thinking.
You know in many ways probably there's a lot of people celebrating that.
Well listen now you know we've we've fought communism and Ronald Reagan's day and George Bush -- that Cold War up.
The communism -- Mao Tse Tung and Lenin and Stalin horrible evil it was collapsed it was a failure it was a great success for awhile.
The communism among -- ground -- who argued that.
Look -- went to the Soviet Union since -- -- failing the people hate the place what we've gotta do what you gotta have a long march from the institutions of the west.
And that long march to change your thinking and beliefs and basically.
Get people so that they will accept cultural marxism they will embrace it as the Russian people rejected the other former and that's what happened.
It's a trans valuation.
As -- you should uphold values what was wrong -- now right and the reverse.
You talked about the beginning of the United Nations I think was a 53 nations have started with a somewhere now if that area for three and 5253 what is of more 1009393.
Now.
And and you talk a lot about balkanization balkanization when you look at the former Yugoslavia the former Soviet Union.
And how all these countries have broken up into -- divide.
I get the sense you're predicting.
Of moral balkanization.
-- right economical balkanization.
Of America is that I -- -- paralysis that has an -- -- -- commission also.
I predict and this is where you get into Turkey -- hadn't -- the chapter on the -- white America -- white America becomes a startup for the next segment yeah.
Like marlin.
Model should mean the balkanization of true and president we talked today -- a chapter in -- 181000 words.
Which called -- nationalism is now it's a triumph of tribalism.
In what it is his.
Arthur Schlesinger -- morning and predicted -- the end of the Cold War.
That the real conflicts coming up we're going to be between peoples and tribes and races.
And cultures rather than ideologies like communism and capitalism.
And I think their run at all over the world we see countries breaking down breaking apart Sudan just broken half.
Ethiopia broke in half He shield troubles in Kenya you see -- Iraq you know it's Sunni version she occurred vs Arab Muslim verses Christian.
The anti Christian pandemic the programs in the Middle Eastern and then.
That's right this this frightening but this is what's happening to the world it is all breaking don't even in Europe it's more peaceful Scotland wants our.
Catalonia wants out of Spain the -- in northern Italy wants out of Italy it Cyprus is split in half you take the Kurds want out of Turkey.
These are the battles I think of the future this is the future -- -- -- what might be so concerned.
In the next segment about what's happening in our -- -- other.
What I won't predict will probably be the most controversial right and you had to know this going in I got a chapter called the end of white America why hate Americans are an endangered -- -- -- species -- right.
We'll get to that more thought Pat Buchanan is new -- suicide of -- superpower will America survived the 20/20 five.
Also show.
