Tom Perry that rather -- is on top I I'm not sure about that -- -- national polls at this point out -- meaningless.
In -- -- T New York Times and CBS poll this morning finding that Herman -- business magnate Herman Cain is now leading a Mitt Romney beyond the statistical tie.
In a national poll in that Ohio Republicans were surveyed and they also give -- the lead.
You know -- I'm curious messaging.
What is sticky because that's a good thing in politics when something sticks -- what is so sticky.
About Herman Cain and and what areas to Perry and -- need to get stickier.
But they're really fascinating question that I think the easy answer on Herman Cain is as we all know we can probably -- -- together 999.
And what's fascinating about that message is not necessarily that it's good economic policy.
It's just really simple to understand.
And it's not that the American electorate is stupid -- -- not actually they're pretty sophisticated.
At this same time that they're overwhelmed and they -- don't want their politics to be simple.
All right tell you what you're gonna do you tell me how you're gonna fix my problems that's what 999 does and when you look at theory and when you look it Romney.
Neither of them have uncomplicated answer is -- has a 56 point plan to do something.
No one knows what it is no one knows with -- 56 points are I don't you think Ronnie knows what they are.
So that thing about 999.
It -- simple heck even I can remember it and I'm a Democrat and I'm not voting for these guys and I know what that plan is so.
Did change credit he's figured out a very simple message strategy unfortunately.
I don't think it's going to be an -- to getting to the presidency but right now it's definitely an -- to get him to the number one slot.
Yet you know what he's got to get out of the primary before He goes into the general election a couple things.
Maybe we can put this up on the screen in Nevada Republican voters say their preference is by 1% so this is effectively -- tie him.
Mitt Romney former governor Massachusetts and then you've got Herman -- close behind with when He.
And that it fall softly on the I mean that Newt Gingrich still in the double digits.
But when you look at some of these names you mentioned Rick Perry he's got a single digits here and then when we go to Ohio which is one I mentioned before if that's fresh to.
Herman Cain 28% -- that is outside the statistical tie for this particular survey.
So He wins this one -- Mitt Romney Ron Paul.
And then the rest basically feel like I'm doing an episode Gilligan's Island with you know the early episodes -- -- it -- for -- -- -- professor -- as the rest of you know we also have a little bit of of his own words Rick Perry on rolling out his new plan to fix the economy let's watch that and then we'll we'll talk more.
The best representation -- my plan.
Is is this postcard that this is the size of what we're talking about -- here.
Taxpayers will be able to fill this out and file their taxes.
On that.
Not that particular -- -- thought -- like -- has not let that messaging you have to do a whole lot of that in your in your role too so tell me about that -- a -- yeah well that that is so.
I think it's -- it it's a good message to say that you'll be able to follow your taxes on the -- because in fact.
That's the issue I think loses right here in the sense that what folks are looking for is something that is simple.
Something that's easy to understand.
The reality however is that tax policy is complicated it is not as simple as 999 or now 90 now -- The amended I can plan.
