I've been determined -- in our -- seat segment we've been asking you to submit questions thousands coming and Tom would like to know would you stop sending tax Payer money for foreign aid.
Because we're suffering enough here at home.
First let's start with what my philosophy is which is.
Peace through strength and clarity woods is an extension of the Reagan philosophy we need to clarify who are friends are.
Clarify who -- in -- bizarre and -- stop giving money to our enemies we lacked clarity relative to foreign policy.
Charles.
A few weeks ago and Greta you're asked about the O'Reilly and attempted terrorist attack on the US what you do about it.
You respond that I would've acted preemptively ahead of time.
By placing aegis cruisers -- Iran.
How displacing aegis cruisers.
Affect her arms and determination to use terrorism against humans.
It won't deter they.
But intent to use terrorism but what it would do is it will let them know that we -- serious.
If they fire a ballistic missile toward us although right now they're not supposed to be notified that far.
What they are -- -- -- being of our friends like Israel.
And then let them know that we have this capability we have the only country in the world that has this capability.
Capable of ballistic missile defense.
At -- and what I would do also is don't allow hopefully.
We could double it and not only.
Put them strategically in that part of the world but also protect our shoeless to deter them from -- like that they really wanted to fire a ballistic missile.
But the aegis is a defensive weapon -- intercepts a missile in flight.
Iran doesn't have -- they can actually hit the United States now.
And moreover a defensive weapon in no way deters an aggressive action to deter launch of a missile.
But it's not going to deter terrorist campaign.
No is not it wasn't intended to mean that is going to deter a terrorist campaign not in the least.
My point that the point that I was trying to make was unconcerned about their march toward having a nuclear weapon.
A march to -- having more ballistic missile weapon capability but I don't see how he just effects even that at all well the aegis warships do have.
The capability with missiles to be able to.
To detect and destroy them if they detected early enough to things need one of his when you say happened the land based systems -- -- -- have.
And more advanced capability than -- based systems they need to be upgraded with the minimal amount of technology upgrade.
This is what we have to do first in order to make a much more capable.
-- Iran has been -- actively harboring senior al-Qaeda leaders for a decade.
-- supporting and financing training and equipping.
Terrorists were killing American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan those acts of war.
I believe that the acts of war.
And -- -- -- president -- respond of those acts of war well first of all I don't agree with President Obama -- approach in Iraq and Afghanistan.
First I would talk to the commanders on the ground.
I've gotten since based upon reports that his plan to reduce the troop -- in Afghanistan.
The commands at the -- the same thing and that in Iraq it's gonna leave a huge power vacuum so I -- listened to the commanders on the ground first.
And secondly I wouldn't have announced it to the enemy when we were gonna lead.
Be in the other thing that I would've done done differently is to make sure that it was clear.
What our mission -- and it was clear but the definition of victory is.
I would approached those decisions a whole lot differently.
And the current administrative Iran is already trying to fill the power to get you that you suggest and they're doing it in ways that you are saying we're acts of war exactly does that require a military response not necessarily alone the other thing that I would do and we -- -- -- -- on and energy independence plan.
As soon as the United States get serious about energy independence it's gonna put pressure on the price of oil.
And is going to go down Iran does not want the possible to go up.
And -- about have been a serious energy independence plan we will put pressure on the economy this is how we began to put.
To get Iran in check economically as well they have letting them know what our military might be it.
Maybe it's comical this is actually continue on the same esteem is to give any specific criticisms.
Of the president's foreign policy.
Exception now -- talked about Iraq and Afghanistan that you can share with us.
And possibly on that the war in Libya -- what mistakes you think he might have made in situations that you would have handled differently.
Take Libya.
It wasn't clear why we got involved.
And now a billion dollars later.
It's a mess secondly.
The people now run in the country off power in in this so I don't believe -- -- clear as to why we went into maybe you take Iraq.
Back to this problem back -- That's a specific example well -- would not have agreed we need according to some of the commanders on the ground we need to leave.
Troops there.
For a period of time you would not have been involved in the intervention in Libya no I did say -- wouldn't have been involved on my would have been involved a different way.
Once we clearly had that the fact whose side we will on who we were trying to help.
Then you determine whether or not you provide -- to you about weapons of whatever the case may be it wasn't clear.
While we were there all -- -- was brought.
Think there was a group effort to depose Gaddafi at which they succeeded.
And -- and it was a -- even if we -- it was getting to be a bigger -- if we -- not gone -- do you agree with I would agree with that but it goes back to my fundamental philosophy.
Peace through strength and clarity every one of these situation we have been in has lacked clarity as -- on Lisa Brown if -- -- -- -- with anyone dead or alive who would it be and why.
Martin Luther King Jr.
because he was one of the greatest -- leaders about what to have any history.
This -- we really appreciate your time thank you for coming in to senator seat that I survived this.
Inclusion seeing what he did that that we don't look one more -- -- -- one more try -- special kicker coming up right after this break.
