She's retired her fastball but Jennie Finch is far from finished competing in sports this weekend America's most famous soft -- player.

And Olympic gold medalist will be running in New York City Marathon.

And as an added challenge Jenny is starting in last place and seeing how many people she can ask for charity what a great angle.

I -- -- to I was the author of this book.

Throw like a girl Jennie Finch would Jenny welcome to the show name is -- -- be here you know first of why would somebody has accomplished so much say one and I just tried 26 point two.

Let's do something that I was one -- run a marathon and after her -- off when you can have that fear of retirement.

-- -- -- -- -- put competitiveness back in my life and I was an -- easy for months after giving birth in the second town but down is a great way to get back in.

Just a headline folks she just had a baby.

All right so all the women out there they're gonna kinda wanna be angry at you for looking like you do now but then their -- going to be like while we admire her because she's gonna run this -- -- this your first child -- yes that they say you have two little boys at home now how did you possibly get in shape for a marathon after having a baby.

I have an awesome coach Timex has hit with a great coach in this ten -- you can -- can my coach and my race.

-- training distance pace heart rate everything right here and just hit the road.

So you've run nineteen miles has been your high so force -- nineteen you know you do 26 he gets his letter pacing each of you gonna Wear the watch -- had to Wear a headset.

-- to start in the very back.

In and who's going to be counting how many people you pass as a world.

Well what goes by time so I will be starting last but it's hopefully.

People behind you -- -- so I'll be passing them by time not so much really literally I mean hopefully and physically passing a lot of people but for the most part they'll be.

By time.

And so far.

What would you say the biggest challenge is going to be is it a mental thing for you to just know you can do it and what you take from.

Your years of being a super athlete to -- accomplishment.

Definitely just the mental toughness I mean I've had have been on the mound and basically to -- -- -- the streets here beyond it.

What you're physically capable of doing at some point it's just mentally OK one put friend the other -- you have to keep going and it's not a matter of stopping it I gotta get it depends on.

Suing your book throw like a girl.

You came up in a generation was probably easier than the previous one is -- from title nine people looking for relief female athletes did you still have hurdles to -- I think definitely not the younger I looked up to major league baseball players -- her sat there and you know those guys are being from Southern California but.

And now there's just an incredible opportunity within the game and I feel blessed to have been.

It's been able to be part of that Aaron experienced so much that -- generation -- -- and then hopefully and opened doors for the future and for now.

-- -- you want inspired young girls and boys to get involved in sports because of what it's done for your life I have to tell you I love the title.

Because so much is made about for quite like a girl in a negative way hey what's the positive that you see in that -- -- think you can be proud of being a female on being an athlete and going out there being empowered and just seeing the physical strength and now it's it's celebrated where.

Probably 1020 years ago and it wasn't so much celebrated to -- like a girl but now.

Figure out there and you know we can working keep it you know.

Where -- and still be -- And did I say something there's throwing like a girl in his throwing like Jennie Finch how fast did you -- seventy it was that fast Sundance.

-- and her from forty cheap what about major leaguers who could not hit her pitches Brian does amazing.

I -- -- whether it's somewhat of pro league is WNBA so there is that there is an extent to anything thanks so much good luck.

I'm predicting a four hour finished yet so let me down for -- -- -- for adults what.

I obviously yeah all right continued success getting.

It's never -- to.
