Some are calling it the biggest gap in the history of presidential debates.

Governor Rick Perry drying up big blanket last night's GOP debate -- -- one of the three federal agencies he would cots.

If he were elected president Nicholas.

I won't say it.

It's three agencies and government when I get there that are gone.

Commerce education.

And the what's the third when there was.

All five OK -- commerce education and the -- DNA VA.

-- We're talking about it now for those who were talking about that.

-- agencies of government EPA needs to be rebuilt but you know -- out about you know getting the third one.

The third agency of government I would I would do away with the education.

The hammer -- the commerce.

-- -- -- and I can't but there and I can't start the.

-- the governor Rick Perry joins me now NASDAQ got to thank you so much for being mayor that it's an honor to be here -- -- that that's pretty brutal how it happened at the eight day.

I think it's happened everybody before I'm stepped it that's for sure -- in that matter fact I've been stills missed some -- -- stuck on my feet but the you know the fact is that there are a lot Americans out there that.

Were not -- me is they sit around and they think about.

Federal agencies that that they would like to forget wolf I had.

I certainly had the that that millions of energy were stuck on the day it went even on the tip of my time -- -- going through your mind you know we've all been there or searching for something in your we'll economy -- economy sudden now it won't come -- would not come to me.

-- even to the -- of of looking over to have Tim intermittent and -- and Enron balls than age you know.

You guys gonna give me and how about that because -- unpopular elect -- and -- -- -- rob what do you think -- that like it gladiator big rival in this camp well that the here's -- of the seriousness that this is is that.

We were having them a good debate.

We were talking about a lot of issues that are important to the people of this country.

And as a matter of fact.

-- animal funnel it which which is fine I think we ought to.

You can go to Rick -- dot org and and give your ideas of federal agencies that you would like to forget.

And I think we had over 2000 -- already -- and -- you know people of people understand.

You you make mistakes things don't come out of your mouth right.

But we what we talked about a lot of really important issues why might tax plan.

-- we had a great.

Opportunity.

To share our flat tax with the people of America I'm going to be back in the South Carolina.

Tonight I'm going to be back in Iowa and we're going to be talking about.

How to make this tax is personal income tax flat simple.

Deduct your.

Charitable deduction local taxes deduct your mortgage interest.

I get rid of cap gains.

Get rid a dividend taxes take 20% and that put it on out on a -- guardsman trying to.

The paparazzi the Coast Guard right there but.

That's it.

That's what I say that -- timing send it in and that takes care of the personal income tax it will end the IRS as we know.

Yes he has got -- -- I -- -- did have an opportunity to discuss some issues and substantive discussions but then you have everybody focusing -- -- that but this moment.

Sad but -- Larry seven -- comes out says the most devastating moment of any modern primary debate.

Michael Barone says it's the worst moment in a debate I've ever seen since 1960 in his -- a double down he was on.

Happening now earlier today tuchman Jon Scott I want to play you what he said and get your response there.

It was a disaster there's there's just no way to put any fine point on it.

This wasn't just a moment John.

It was a series of events that's taken place since Perry has entered the contest.

He's done poorly in almost every single debate so it's tough to overcome the subtext for his candidacy.

-- sponsor well if were electing a debater in chief don't elect me I mean that's.

We've got a really good debater in the White House today.

Two and a half million jobs lost.

Foreign policy that's in the tank.

We have a president that from my perspective is an absolute disaster for our economy in this country he is a great debater.

-- I have led the second largest state in the nation for the last almost eleven years we created more jobs than any other state in the nation.

We have created the land of opportunity people continue to -- of the state of Texas because they know that they're great policies have been put in place.

And that's why I'm gonna continue go -- and -- Iowa and South Carolina and Florida and talking to Americans about the policies.

That really matter what you that's what -- about America.

Can we put this guy up against Barack Obama.

-- you sound that you're even admitting yourself you can debate that you can't so why should they put you why should they believe that if you're the guy.

You go into these head to head debates against Barack Obama.

You're gonna prevail you're gonna you're gonna be persuasive you know you're gonna show -- you're gonna be able to be nimble and handled those debates in a way where you're gonna win the general election.

I don't think yet be particularly nimble when you look at the number jobs that are -- and destroyed by this economy.

When you look at where our country was three years ago from -- from our debt.

Situation when you look get.

The four trillion dollars of stimulus is that has been spent in this country when you look at just absolute economic harm all that this president.

Has put on Americans you don't have to be dislike is debater what you have to do is be able to call him out and point clearly to the options some of those options -- Changing our tax structure.

Having a balanced budget by two point -- -- which by the way my plan is the only one of the Republicans that balances the budget by two point one.

It's about taking care of our entitlement programs you when we talk about Social Security Megan.

And those that are on -- those that are -- in a towards being on Social Security they're going to be taking care of that's -- promise that we have made those people.

But who is that there's gonna stand up for the young people.

-- who is it that that's on that stage that -- -- me tape we're going to reform Social Security.

In America so the young people are going into the workforce today.

We'll have that retirement system I'm that person.

And I have not only the record for that I got the passion for and I think I can take it to President Obama on any given day.

I know -- had you know a couple of incidents at these debates that have been highlighted one was -- the fox debate where you said.

If people disagree -- -- immigration party policy that they were heartless.

And and then there was an interesting exchange at a recent debate between you and governor Romney with three elect -- last night saying was -- the EPA.

But at -- -- -- debate actually put hands on you when you guys were sparring pretty heatedly.

And -- Here's a -- of this from CNN.

What you make -- that would keep look at them he put he is on -- what was going through your head at that.

I've you know I wasn't paying attention what was going on I was more focused on the the conversations going back and -- -- -- -- to head I have things -- now do you think with him -- reaching out here to help in that moment last night.

Like there's never ever her being.

Their differences on a personal dissolved and philosophical differences that -- had with you know whether it was -- -- his tax plan that creates a bad crates -- news.

Sales tax or -- whether it's been minutes.

And multiple positions -- he's had on a lot of different issues so these are all philosophical.

Discussions that were happen each one of those.

Men and women on that stage I have the highest regard foreign running for the presidency of the United States certainly respect each one up and how about.

Herman -- there there is obviously he's been mired in controversy over the past week or so -- two weeks.

You've just come out a new -- in Iowa talking about your family values and your your wife was you know your lifelong sweetheart.

Some are suggesting maybe that is -- in some way a comment on the situation that mr.

-- is going through.

Is it.

Not at all it's about me and is about my family it's about my -- -- -- -- -- got a thing to do with hurricanes got everything to do with Rick and I need a pair.

And and what you think you're gonna do at this point governor because obviously you know you came out you made a big splash you -- the front runner.

But now you're down into the single digits -- these polls in particular in these battleground states that that we're gonna look at.

In the next month you know coming up in Iowa New Hampshire and -- Florida and South Carolina.

How we gonna turn things around.

We keep talking about the issues that are important of people that's about jobs and there's no one has a record two.

Go talk about.

That I have for my ten plus years as -- governor state of Texas.

And I truly believe that American people wanna see the policy they wanna see whether it's tax plans -- they wanna see -- spending cuts show us how to grow this economy.

We laid out a plan ten days ago that do does exactly that.

And we need to stick that big sign back in the middle America that says.

America.

Open for business again.

Governor Perry thanks so much for being here going to be would be -- -- -- assessment all of Bastia Andy.
