She's a congresswoman she's an author and she's running for president Michelle -- welcome -- to our show good morning caddie and pleasure interviewed you this morning -- great to have you so the big news today obviously the super committee and apparently is going to fail at least under deadline in -- one point two trillion dollars worth of cuts.

Over ten years even that number.

Would have been a drop in the bucket it would have barely helped.

If -- were president how would you resolve this budget conflict.

Well number one I would've been involved unlike President Obama he's been able on the process I would have gone back last summer when the problem began.

And what I would have said that the 535.

Members of congress is.

Today we're gonna make sure that we don't lose the AAA credit rating -- going to pay all of the interest on the debt -- -- -- -- Wall Street and all the ratings companies know we're paying the interest on the debt.

But we are going to sit down now.

And we are going to continue to cut until we prioritize -- spending.

So that we don't have to add any more borrowing authority to the United States congress because they need to learn their lesson.

-- they get their work done this is a problem with congress.

Now -- took credit -- canceling on the committee he said he could have found the one point two trillion in his sleep.

And that's true because we're looking at adding another eight point five trillion at minimum I think that's conservative number.

Over the next ten years eight point five trillion in debt that's that much more overspending in addition to the Texas were spent is already sending end.

So all we're doing is just.

Dropping back a little bit.

From all of the death it's increasing if we can't do they had.

We're really in -- well and that's what they have credit rating agencies have said that's absolutely that we are in trouble if we can't find that amount but the fact is we have a divided government right now.

-- both sides digging in their heels trying to keep their base is happy and their bases are saying do not compromise.

How did pet planet actually I think I act I do -- am not without -- -- -- partisan I really wanna give credit to the Republicans.

Because they did something that I couldn't do.

They said that they were willing to add.

-- tax increases not wasn't willing to go there but they were so anyone bent over backwards to trying get agreement it was the Republicans on the super committee.

The Democrats just sat back with their arms folded as that we're doing nothing because that ensured that our military.

Within our our defense would be hurt more than anything some early estimates say as much as 200000.

Troops.

-- to be cut by the end of next year.

And we are engaged in four wars.

In the first time in the history of the country we're pulling back primary sources.

While were engaged in war president Obama's putters and two more wars and yet he's cutting back on the -- -- This is a president who has no concept of how to -- -- speaking of wars Iran and as you know the IAEA the UN's nuclear watchdog agency came out with their report saying that Iran is closer than ever to having a work of workable nuclear weapon.

And the United States yesterday announced new sanctions against Iran.

You say that the Pentagon should be preparing a war plan.

Can you give us details on that I think that they should because we -- in a very volatile situation -- either ourselves or Israel have not.

Then and is volatile situation.

As we are today in the last forty years why because the head of Iran act minute -- has said.

Once he gains in nuclear weapon -- he's prepared to use it and he will use it to wipe Israel off the face of the map.

And he's willing to use it against the United States of America I think if history has shown us anything on the last 100 years it's this.

When a mad man speaks.

Nations need to pay attention he is a -- I think he has the capacity to use this bomb.

We need to be prepared and work through various scenarios and that's why I say the Pentagon needs to prepare that.

-- so under what scenario.

Would you bring the United States into.

Awful war we've got this report now saying they're very close Israel -- -- saying look we might have to just.

Go in there and take care of this would you go in with the support of other nations.

Alone and at what point would you make that call.

But that only a fool would want to have war no one wants to have war I don't want to have -- I think we all have war fatigue.

But we're looking -- President Obama took his eye off of the greatest threat in the Middle East which is a nuclear Iran.

Knowing that this could very well be -- likely scenario.

I would put all options on the table but in order to go to war he first -- -- have -- clear identifiable.

Vital American national interest you have to have a mission.

You have to know how your -- and this -- when you go win in my opinion you go in with overwhelming force you get the job done and you get out.

At a dinner over the weekend -- you said that your very first foreign policy directive would be recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital and moving the US embassy there.

President Obama has been accused of alienating the Jewish people for the sake of better relations with the other.

-- eastern nations do you believe that President Obama is.

Attitude toward the Middle Eastern situation is not correct.

I absolutely believe that -- these have the wrong view toward Israel.

He is the first president since Israel declare -- sovereignty of may of 1948.

Foot daylight between the United States and Israel.

That's never happened before with any previous president.

Because he send a signal -- the 23 hostile neighbors and the surrounding Israel.

They saw that the United States may now be that sure footed friend that we have always -- that's led to increased hostilities.

And that message hasn't gone on unnoticed by Israel's hostile neighbors.

So late last week you became the 52 member of congress to demand the resignation of our attorney general Eric Holder due to his handling of the gun running operation on us fast and furious.

Eric Holder says that but he wasn't even informed of the operation and the emails didn't make it up the -- to him.

-- -- How would you pursue this if you became president.

Well he would be fired if I was prison United States and for one thing how could the how could be -- Justice Department be involved in this fast and furious program.

And somehow.

The attorney general wouldn't know about this program he either knew or he should have known and he's been less than forthcoming to congress about his involvement.

I think we're going to find out more with the emails but again remember what businesses.

The federal government gave.

Guns big guns.

About powerful guns to drug cartels south of the Mexican border.

-- guns were used to kill an American border security guard this is -- this is one of the most outrageous scandals.

And yet it seems like a lot of people in the media and not fox a lot of people the media giving keeping this story under wraps this is outrageous.

And this attorney general should certainly be fired.

Because of this mishandling of the support nation we want to mention that you have a new book out yesterday is called core of conviction my story and it's it's definitely an interesting read you have some very complimentary things to say about President Bush but you also going to say that the Bush Administration.

Engaged in sort of bail -- socialism.

Explain that well they did I am opposed the 700 billion dollar bailout because.

We had already given 29 billion to Bear Stearns 85 billion AIG in all sorts of other.

Programs that litigation extraordinary never done before in history the United States.

Then Hank Paulson the Treasury Secretary came to the members of congress and said.

Give me -- 700 billion dollar blank check with no strings attached and all go and solve this is this problem.

-- -- It seemed like an in prudent thing to me to do and I think it was wrong for the United States taxpayer to bail out private banks on Wall Street.

That money was also used to bail out the automobile industry and we're still tens of billions of dollars in debt with that.

This isn't the first time -- to bail out this goes back to the 1990s but what signal -- this and it told banks on Wall Street you can go ahead and roll the dice anyway you want to.

And if you -- keep the profits if you don't.

Stick it to the taxpayer that's the wrong message to sand and one of the taxpayers no obligation to be here.

You also say in the book that the Obama administration is running in your words a gangster.

Government what do you mean by that term.

I didn't -- well that's a very apt description because it is his crony capitalism and the best example we have a slender.

That the president that it has political donors those political donors -- give money to him and his reelection campaign.

And he in -- put one of his political fund -- in the Department of Energy.

Specifically.

To finger which the at which -- the loan applications belong to a political donor.

And then 535.

Million dollars in loan guarantees.

We're given to president Obama's political donor with the company no banker would have ever touched because they've never turned a profit nor could they.

It so clearly.

This was done to benefit from president Obama's political donor but worse.

When the company was in trouble.

They changed the order of payouts so that the federal government which by law needs to be the first payout intervention in the event -- a bankruptcy.

They deferred themselves to the political donor.

This was from every possible angle it's indefensible.

President Obama has a situation that's worse than Watergate out of his hands with the lender.

And he needs to be held accountable right the presidential race you describe yourself as the only true conservative.

In the race you are a Tea Party favorite.

Conservative on social issues.

Some analysts saying that you wouldn't be able to win it in the general against President Obama because you're too part of the right well of course they said that about Ronald Reagan -- and I'm the first Republican woman ever to win out of the state of Minnesota.

I don't do that by getting Republican votes I do that beginning Democrats and independents and people more political.

I did that mean Iowa's straw poll Democrats independents -- people never been political came out to vote for me.

And I am a unifying.

Figure to be able to bring together across party lines people -- for the good of the country.

That's what we're going -- need in this next election 2012.

President Obama has proved to be the most -- this -- president in anyone's memory.

I will be that unifying candidate invited in by the way.

I think it's and that we have a mother in the White House it's never happened before I know how to get things done ivories 28 children.

Five of my own -- -- -- three -- Foster children I can get things done and I'm a unifying candidate that can win in 2012.

All right Michelle Bachmann it's a pleasure and once again her new book is called -- -- conviction thank you so much for joining I think you can't again.
