And it's not just the rich a number of house Democrats.
Are pushing to end the bush tax cuts for everybody not just the -- From joining me right now democratic congressman -- actually declined stated Texas congresswoman that happy Thanksgiving -- you.
And happy Thanksgiving to you and all of your viewers it's gonna be a great Thanksgiving and a great coming year.
And because I'm not gonna give congress -- pass on to the election.
We need to get to work.
On and then you could have gone out all Linear communism by saying you don't wanna just rescind the bush tax cuts when they.
Expire the end of next year for the rich but for everybody why.
Well let me say this.
The portion of the tax cuts that impact the middle class.
Let me any frame what my comments are we can discuss it.
So that no one will believe that they are being discriminated against you know we've always heard.
Of the 99 years in the top 1% in there.
A lot of us civil rights.
Representative for.
The rich and wanna make sure they know that they are welcome in this country and we respect them.
But if we go anywhere I want to go to the bush tax cuts but what I've said is.
For the top 1% is that congress has a year to be thoughtful.
One how you reform the tax code that may in fact impact others I am for.
The continuation of the payroll tax relief.
We know that 400000 jobs are impacting.
And that 900 dollars will be impacted the goals in the pockets of working America my message is let us not -- The demise of the super committee -- I had great respect for all those members I know.
They attempted their best except for those who took a no tax pledge but now congress has a Ways and Means Committee.
And Appropriations Committee authorizing committee and there's no reason why we cannot thoughtfully do this.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Is.
In this environment what we're dealing with now.
Without showing discrimination to one group taxes -- another remove the -- -- them all expire simultaneously the end of next -- Now let me clarify.
That and say.
Let us look at.
All of them.
Bush tax court for the 1%.
Can expire because even that 1% of sad that we are prepared to give.
The middle class tax cuts include things like mortgage deduction right all of those can be no no I don't.
Everything is just -- congresswoman all the rates went down.
With the bush tax cuts when he initiative about a decade ago you would say revert them all to what they -- -- yes or no I'm not likely.
Now I'd I'd say no deliberate on the middle class and determine whether or not those -- -- would add the amount of money.
That would make the difference between what it did for the middle class and what it might do for the -- Very well Mario Stanley terrorism because -- office had said that you were open to rescinding them all in the issue of fairness you're saying now that's not standards.
That you would air more on the side of rescinding them.
For just the upper income or I just -- to -- -- Yet -- and let remember what what that term was in the open open to seeing whether or not.
That would generate resources.
That would be -- To the relief given to middle of the middle class but I am solid behind the bush tax -- for the 1%.
But remember now -- behind adding them for the 1% -- next and ending them for the 1% -- remember what is being asked the members of congress.
They're being asked to go to work be thoughtful and considered many options I'm suggesting to you that that -- bush tax cuts.
-- came about on the top of two wars and that none of my Republican colleagues -- even think about.
Any taxation.
Our reform or eliminating any taxation and has meant the previous.
Guess it as I heard it here they are talking map they don't want to have.
The payroll tax relief that we know creates what 400000 jobs and puts 900 dollars in the pockets of those.
I am saying to you -- Here's a person saying I'll be open to the discussion because I believe congress.
This should not abdicate its authority.
To twelve members of congress.
-- -- -- eyes and ears weren't confused and I'm a little slow to take some pardon me -- -- not -- our producer.
And our producer called.
Your -- -- -- the query on this we just wanted to clarify my.
She wants to see all the bush tax cuts expire -- He said yup.
You're saying.
You want to be opened today you are open suits are getting rid of all of sudden your goal but you're just saying you're open to.
-- At that -- that that is correct so maybe -- term and not English language can be imprecise sometime.
So I want to be clear on this program.
I will not take a hatchet to the middle class tax that's what I will say is I will respond to the American people about getting to work.
And getting to work means looking thoughtfully at those parts of the tax cuts.
I -- solidly behind the expiration of the top 1% but I'm also looking at many other options such as the one point one.
Trillion dollar of those twelve trillion -- this one point 12 trillion dollars of cash on hand by corporations that would allow them to invest in America.
And then also interest -- and looking at what we can do for home builders so -- you have a member of congress sitting here today.
By the day before Thanksgiving acknowledging.
But the extent of poverty in America the largest in seventeen years and I'm saying I wanna get to the table and discuss this -- somebody else would disagree with me.
But I want to discuss it out my constituents I want to hear from them.
There's a point that I'm making.
We can't work to solve this problem and I want the American people to know.
I've taken a pledge to help the American people very good not to help -- and -- -- -- union rights group.
All right congressman very good -- you have a good Thanksgiving.
Thank you so very much or.
