Some outrageous comments caught on camera by the president of the Chicago Teachers Union.

This guy left America stand up and say.

Education is the civil rights.

Issue -- time that you know we went to private school because if you want the public school -- to have gotten.

-- -- six people are impressed let me tell you I spent those years.

Smoking lots of -- self medicating.

Self medicating.

That -- get out of.

Sound like you won't be until.

But now she's blaming conservatives for the public backlash against this Kyle Olson is the CEO of education -- Action with his -- organization discovered this outrageous video -- nice to see this morning.

Time thanks for having me are so first off how did you come across this video and why did you decide to put it out there.

Well Juan Williams and I are working on a documentary film looking at the fight over school choice in Chicago.

It's coming out in January during national school choice week.

And he he attempted to get an interview with -- president of the Chicago Teachers Union Karen Lewis she declined so I went on YouTube.

To attempt to find some videos which would.

Articulate their position on school choice the mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Education reform in general and I came across this.

And so we released this video last week and it just it created a firestorm of controversy and and condemnation over the ridiculous things that she said.

And here is her statement -- -- -- union president quote neo conservative anti labor and anti public education bloggers.

What the history of distorting and misrepresenting the truth seize the opportunity to create a pseudo firestorm around the comments.

In order to distract from our work at the Chicago teacher's union their argument I guess that this is a 35 minute speech.

Cut down to three minutes.

Well but what we did was we were we released also the full 35 minutes and so people could make their own judgment.

And there's a -- a reporter for the New York Times who did look at all 35 minutes and found additional personal attacks in additional ridiculous things.

The reality here is that she is being held accountable both by citizens and the media for the ridiculous things that she said.

And so what she's doing she's lashing out at me she's lashing out at our organization at Andrew bright part.

She's attempting to point the finger at at many other people but the reality is.

She's accountable for her own words and you see some hypocrisy here because of the anti bullying stance -- it to her organization has taken why.

Well that the national the national teachers' unions whether it's the American Federation of Teachers -- the National Education Association.

Are constantly talking about bullying and how we need to get pulling out of out of schools and we shouldn't be students shouldn't be picking on others and those types of things in fact.

DA if he just had an anti bullying conference.

And yet here you've got the president of the union that the third largest local union in the country.

Picking on the it's just it's it's there's a double standard going on its -- -- ridiculous.

And the interesting thing is there's very little accountability for her other than from the media and the public.

Her members are not calling on her to step down and so at this point she still is president of the union.

So Kyle again she's pointing the finger at you should put -- figured Andrew bright part but no apology for taking on Arnie Duncan is it's.

List for whatever or talking not marijuana nothing.

Well what happened was she.

She supposedly did apologize to him and he's he's -- he's supposedly said oh it's no big deal which I find amazing.

But then she attempted to -- committed and then she attempted to shift the blame and and the accusations that us.

By calling us the names that you that you earlier described Fred let's -- -- -- what -- closest here you guys didn't when you put this video this video was already on YouTube.

Right so there was no analysis on your part right there was no editorializing and you've put the video out for other people to -- right we all week.

Right we didn't think it was necessary I mean her her words spoke for themselves and clearly the local media picked up on that.

So again this is she's being held accountable she doesn't like it -- so she's she's does smearing us and she's fighting back.

But we just show her statement a little earlier we'll stay on top of this and see what sort of action if anything happens.

To her as well Kyle Olson you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and you enjoy the rest of your weekend thanks for joining us this morning.

Thank you.
