-- thirty years after he tried to kill President Reagan John Hinckley junior is asking the court to let him walk out of the mental hospital he's been occupying.

Back in 1981 the would be assassin opened fire on President Reagan outside a hotel in Washington.

The government told the judge that Hinckley has not been truthful about his whereabouts during visits to his mother's home in Williamsburg West Virginia.

And cited an event this past July 24 when Hinckley said he was going to a movie.

But instead he went to a bookstore and read books on president dragon and people who have tried to assassinate presidents.

Assistant US attorney Sarah -- and said in court today that Hinckley quote.

Has a long history of deception and does quote whatever he wants and thinks he can get away with it.

Jackson also says Hinckley did something similar went to a bookstore when he said he was going to a movie this past September.
