-- our panel.

Both of whom I'm happy to say -- with us here in the studio today sitting to my immediate right is such -- burns.

Sasha is a democratic strategist and a former staffer for the Al Gore presidential campaign good morning such and I -- seeing you.

And Liz -- is here she's a columnist for the Financial Times and for foxnews.com.

You can find her on Twitter.

Her handle is -- -- is -- good to see you -- thanks very much for being here and I wanna talk -- you in a couple of minutes about your latest.

Peace on foxnews.com an opinion piece about.

The retiring Barney Frank -- we'll get to that in a moment but let's talk jobs for a minute and these numbers and we heard Sasha from Doug that this is unequivocally.

Good news these job numbers are for president.

Obama.

But if you start to dig down a little bit.

Revenues is not all good well it's a holiday season and you sound job numbers going up in in retail which you know makes sense but the markets like that and that's important they -- today after the numbers.

Came out and also.

The they revised the numbers from September October and they were better than expected so slowly but -- although not what we want and not good enough.

It is getting better you know.

Point 4% is is a pretty good -- are pretty significant.

Increase.

-- types I've gotten some some emails this morning -- from.

A number of prominent Republicans.

On the hill.

Who are saying you know look that this is this really is more -- reflection of of people giving up looking for work as opposed to finding.

That's right the decline in unemployment rate was entirely that I mean we are seeing.

Some modest job creation in the private sector which is good it's offsetting the losses and government which has to happen.

We all know 120000 jobs is not enough to bring unemployment down it really was a function of people leaving though they work force which is a very bad sign long term unemployment is seriously long term unemployment.

But I would say as far as the markets are concerned there up today because there has been a pretty steady.

You know slew of good news indicators for the US economy unfortunate all of which is being held hostage by what's happening in Europe and that there will -- -- earlier this week because we had a slight improvement in liquidity available to that you -- B and that European banks was completely ludicrous you can look good news is good news that it was such a tiny bit of good news.

What I think happened is that you have a lot of hedge funds were basically out of the market they're not doing well and they're scared to death of anything positive happens.

They jump into the market and it was -- clear at closing date for the month so.

-- -- it wouldn't read too much into that but.

That you know as far as the US economy is concerned that there is a little progress which is you know which is great we need it -- And a -- and heading into.

An election year next year if this trend.

Continues this would be very helpful.

For the president politically speaking if these numbers keep.

Coming down you know each month we get the new numbers and it's eight point six and then it's -- point five minutes -- point -- you know this is.

That this is the kind of thing on that the White House must love the city.

Absolutely.

You know the worst thing Obama has going -- is the economy the best thing he has going for him as a Republican candidates they're just you know.

It says lessened and the food -- You have you know.

But Katy Perry Perry's whole campaign strategy is to make fun of himself for not north and -- please campaign whose.

-- -- campaign's strategy is well my -- gonna tell me what to do it you know what to do that's that's apples and character showing.

-- they're off and they're out Friday.

I think that I am totally representative Bachmann and Santorum numbers now so it's Romney and -- I -- I think.

You've got Bachmann doesn't know we have no embassy and I ran.

-- to know that we were in Libya Perry doesn't know any thing so you know they look at Gingrich no -- -- he -- a couple things some crazy things but a couple things.

Is it it is it is dire as Sasha makes it out the Republican field.

-- I I think this thing has gone on so long that that.

Yeah it's pretty much sorted out who's a real candidate who's not.

I think Newt Gingrich is not a particularly good candidate I think he's very Smart very quick on his feet.

He is so much baggage he's like Liza Minnelli on a trip and it can.

-- I just don't think this guy can how to get rid of the whole Fannie Mae Freddie Mac involvement.

The marital problems follow up I mean look I think everyone is just reluctant to come to that conclusion that Mitt Romney is the candidate why is.

This now what what is this guy have to you know he get -- -- some love from from.

Nothing is so frustrating for Romney it's his hair I would say -- I would say the government is pulling his hair he's got you.

Yeah yeah.

I mean it's I think it's really kind of sad for him because he has really been steadfastly building his.

Credentials and his campaign structure he's been very.

Professional about it very efficient he hasn't made any.

Gaffes that the -- people just -- and cold and and that's such an ephemeral sort of stupid thing but lucky you know when he works the crowd.

It -- and Bill Clinton working the crowd you don't come away thinking wow minute go to the -- -- is this guy at the same time he's a Smart credible manager.

I continue to think his biggest problem is health care because health care.

Look health care about Ali's you know boomers -- -- answers out in the streets.

-- -- and they really don't like this they really have a problem with the fact that he was you know sort of the grandfather -- Obama -- he's got.
