From Fox News in Washington.

The Republican presidential field was shaken up again Saturday when Herman Cain announced after weeks of allegations about his personal life.

He is suspending his camp -- -- Today.

With a lot of prayer and the -- -- soul searching.

I am suspending my presidential campaign.

Now less than a month before voters in Iowa make they -- choice here is the latest poll from the de Moines register.

Newt Gingrich has moved to the front of the field with 25%.

Ron Paul was next -- eighteen that Romney at sixteen.

Followed by Michelle Bachmann who is tied for fourth with -- at eight.

But things can still change 11% said they are uncommitted.

While 60% are willing to change their mind.

Joining us now to discuss the rice is congresswoman Bachmann is in new York and welcome back to FOX News Sunday.

Chris good -- -- do you think you -- your reaction to Herman -- dropping out of the rights to be do the right -- Well that was his decision I do know this he brought so much energy and good -- to this race I think he has a marvelous personality everyone enjoys them.

And he's an intriguing candidate a good candidate the race was better for having Kermit Herman in the race and I really enjoyed talking to all throughout the race.

Let let's talk some practical politics because some of the polling shows with -- out.

Newt Gingrich picks up more of his support then any of -- other candidates first of all do you believe that and secondly how do you reach out.

McCain supporters and try to get them to support -- Well actually beginning yesterday our office and had call after call after call people who wanted to switch over.

And come and support me because people realize that -- the true Tea Party candidate and the race.

I started the Tea Party caucus in Washington.

And I brought 40000 people to Washington DC the fight against obamacare.

People recognize that I'm the real deal I'm authentic and genuine and I think we're gonna pick up -- a lot of the support from across the country people who formerly -- Herman -- Congresswoman you have spent more than sixty days and Iowa this here and you've held more than a 120 events and yet.

As we just out in the latest -- Moines register poll you're tied for fourth place.

At 8% what's the problem.

Well there is no problem Chris -- -- with -- about thirty days now the all important Iowa Caucuses.

And as we've seen this is like a political Wall Street -- candidates have got up and down.

And what people are finding they're looking for the true consistent and conservative in this race.

And they're getting surprises we put it launched a website called no surprises 2012 dot com.

And on that website people -- of all of the candidates in the race.

I am the true consistent conservative and has the layers are being peeled back and as the candidates are being examined.

People see -- -- someone who opposed the 700 billion dollar Wall Street bailout.

That's not your Mitt Romney aired -- and Newt Gingrich I opposed obamacare that's not true of -- Romney and Newt Gingrich.

And also -- climate change both of them were in support of efforts regarding climate change I opposed it.

So as the candidates are looking at who is the true conservative and who's going to fight for them and who's going to stand on the stage and debate Barack Obama.

And shred his radical policies during the course of a debate.

I'm the only one who can do it because I'm the only candidate who's not compromised.

Well.

88 -- you make a convincing argument that but people in Iowa aren't convinced evangelicals and other social conservatives have been talking for.

For months about trying to get to -- and endorse a single candidate because they understand.

If they split their vote among several of -- they're not gonna have as -- a voice so far they cannot.

Come off.

We had a single endorsement how important is it do you think -- -- values voters an iota Iowa to stand united.

Well I think that again January 3 will be the day that tells us -- what the result will be there as recently.

Some.

Polling that was down in Iowa showing that voters don't even necessarily look at endorsements.

They look at the candidate ultimately that's what they want to know they want someone who will be Barack Obama.

I have that opportunity to build a beat Barack Obama because of all of the candidates in the race I'm the one that will hold him accountable.

For his principles and his policies I have done that for the last five years and I will do that as the nominee of the Republican Party.

-- you have talked a little bit about Mitt Romney Newt Gingrich wanna follow up because you and nuclear which have been going at each other.

A little bit in the last week after you accused him of supporting amnesty for illegals.

He fired back -- you let's watch.

-- -- -- -- -- -- Couldn't figure out where things where when things -- when everything was OK okay when that happens.

You feel sorry okay.

You feel sorry for someone who -- -- so factually challenged what do you think congresswoman of Newt Gingrich.

Comparing your relationship -- he is the wise student and you you're the that that is the wise teacher rather -- near the student who needs some.

Well.

Well professors don't like to be challenged back I think in this case -- -- he's memory challenge because Newt Gingrich signed a letter in the Wall Street Journal.

Wearing he was in full support of George Bush's.

Immigration program which was commonly referred to as amnesty it makes eleven million illegal workers.

Legal overnight and he was in support of the federal DREAM Act.

Which is to federal taxpayer subsidies for the children of illegal aliens for their college tuition this is not where the American people are -- I've -- these measures and there's a clear line of distinction when it comes to immigration.

Newt Gingrich has the lowest grade.

A I will build the -- I will secure the border and -- make English the official language of the United States government.

You have also accused speaker Gingrich of peddling his influence here in Washington.

-- that relationships -- where health care companies and especially Ed to Freddie Mac he says he's never lobbied.

For anyone.

Here in Washington and that in fact because of that his experience he's the one who can shake up the way Washington does this.

Let's implausible Chris because he's been a part of the Washington DC for over thirty years he's as establishment.

As you -- His address is located on -- Rodeo Drive of Washington which is K street.

His organizations have taken -- over a hundred million dollars just this year alone.

To it to peddle influence you don't have to be out lobbyist within the letter of the law.

In order to bid to influence the outcome of legislation.

These the special interests aren't paying him a hundred million dollars for nothing.

They're paying him over a hundred million dollars because he's influencing legislation.

And Washington DC.

That's not what we want to see in the White House we want someone who's actually gonna fight Washington.

Not someone who's been paid over a hundred million dollars and one here alone to influence it.

But what you say influence legislation how has he done that.

Well he's taken money from a special actress and organizations.

To put forward ideas that they agree with before members of congress whether he's come -- to meetings of Republicans.

Or whether he's worked together with the Republicans -- Democrats to bring forth their special interest.

There's there's a strict definition -- lobbying and then there's also the issue of influence -- and that's clearly what speaker Gingrich has done.

You who oppose.

Extending the payroll tax -- for another year.

Which means that middle class families if that payroll tax cut lapses at the end of 2011.

What face somewhere between a thousand dollars and 15100 dollars a year it more in taxes.

Questioned by opposing the extension of the payroll tax -- aren't you breaking the Republican pledge not to raise taxes.

Not at all I oppose it last December and I urge my Republican colleagues not to go forward with that this was Barack Obama's idea.

He said that we would create millions of jobs if we lower the payroll tax that's not true it didn't happen.

And his administration admits that it didn't work so why would you continue a policy that doesn't work plus.

The other fact is that people need to know this blew a hole of a 111.

Million dollars and the Social Security trust fund.

That with the senior citizens need to have their Social Security checks this pulled out 111.

Billion dollars out of Social Security.

And so we that something that I am unwilling to do the Social Security trust them when they run out of money.

They have to go to the general fund to get the money to pay for the Social Security checks well we're broke there's no money in the in the general trust fund.

And so we have to go and borrow more money from China why would we do this this is a failed policy it doesn't work and I won't vote to continue it.

But but what Democrats.

-- and in fact are saying is -- is someone like you who's against extending the payroll tax cut.

Which helps the middle class and the working -- but you favor extending the bush tax cuts especially for the wealthy.

Well.

Did in the in a deal that was struck last year there was an effort to establish the tax tables so that businesses would know how much to withhold.

I voted against the bill last year which was the payroll tax deduction when you talk about extending the current reduced tax rates.

The people who -- job providers that only makes sense and a down economy.

We want to create jobs that helps to create jobs to keep more money in the pockets.

Of the job creators when you pull more money out of the pockets of the job creators you're never less jobs what do we need in the United States right now.

More jobs millions of jobs high paying jobs -- -- Obama hasn't delivered.

The only way to do that Chris is to make sure that businesses have all the money that they need to be able to create jobs right now they don't.

And if if the -- tax increases going to affect the pres Obama wants to have.

It's not gonna help anyone.

Congresswoman you you held a town hall meeting in Iowa this past week and you ended up talking.

To some Iowa high school students about same sex marriage we want to play the extent.

You shouldn't be any better.

There's been -- for your.

-- -- -- -- -- -- Then why -- -- -- couples get me.

-- yeah.

Came here -- you think -- they I say monitor myself in the mirror and get your woman revolutionary you won't hear me.

But congresswoman same sex marriage is legal in Iowa so does that mean that it's all right.

Now I don't believe that it has marriage historically for all of human history.

Has been between a man and a woman it hasn't been.

That the same sex marriage and remember.

That in Iowa.

It was judges that made the decision not the legislature.

Which are the people's representatives and certainly not the people.

That's why the people of -- through -- three of those Supreme Court judges.

That's that's that's something that should give pause to all judges of people on -- are sick and tired.

A -- judges tell them what their laws are they're not a super legislature there judges and they need to act like judges.

-- president United States I will only appoint judges that will apply -- strict construction -- the original intent of the constitution of the United States.

Finally -- -- -- only got less than a minute laughed as we said you have invested heavily involved time and money in Iowa.

Yes on January 3 you don't finish first or or -- strong close second.

How can you go on.

Well we'll talk about that after January 3 but we fully intend to win in Iowa.

You know Chris no one thought I was going to win the straw poll in Iowa this summer and I did no one thought I would win my tough races in the state of Minnesota.

We're of the first Republican woman ever to get elected in that state to go to congress but I did.

And I think what people find is that in this case to the -- -- has a very good chance of winning and we're working hard.

Because I am the only consistent.

Core conservative in this race and ultimately I think people are going to come back home on January 3 I think I'll get their vote.

That then go on to New Hampshire and on the South Carolina and Florida and ultimately be the Republican nominee who defeats Barack Obama.

Because I fully intend to repeal obamacare repealed Dodd-Frank abolish the tax code and turn the country around I know how to do it.

Congresswoman Bachmann we're gonna have to leave it there and we're gonna be along for the ride in any case.

Thank you thanks for talking with us that we want to note that -- is -- addition to running have a new book out called core of conviction my story.

Congresswoman -- travels on the campaign -- thank you Chris will do.
