This is coming to us showing you me Gingrich at 26%.
Mitt Romney.
With 18%.
-- now if we got the -- up there for me.
We're having little problems there -- You can see you can see it that the big.
A lead that Gingrich -- taken in just a few weeks and it looks like he is benefiting from -- came just a withdrawal or suspension of his race.
Let me ask you see you when you.
-- -- -- Gingrich before when you serve in congress.
How do you explain his rise in the polls right now.
I can only explain it.
In the fact that -- -- a lot of people in Iowa that have no idea what he did when he was speaker of the house and the telling -- really telling features.
Of Gingrich's campaign is the fact that that they a lot of the people who went into congress in 1995.
As did I.
Are not backing Newt Gingrich.
He had and he can eight counts on people who don't know hit about his performance when he was speaker.
I sat repeatedly.
And listen to him get rolled by the Clinton White House -- -- -- -- go -- -- send him down the White House and say.
I say take this is what we need this is what we want and he'd come back -- -- stand in front of our conference and he'd say.
Well he's such a nice guy and we know right away.
That he got role and we we we're not going to guess what it was we needed as a matter of fact there are there are seven people.
That I know of in that group of freshmen that was the largest freshman class -- before this one to go into congress.
And -- they are not backing I know at least seven people.
In that class who will not back Newt Gingrich because we know him we worked with him.
If he he lectures he has wonderful ideas he's a Smart man.
I'd like -- as a person.
I would be very upset to think that he would be the GOP presidential candidate because that hands mr.
Obama the White House for a second term.
I'm Margaret -- people who are suggesting I assume that people have a short term memory isn't and that was you know forced out of his speakership.
He had his own personal baggage that he needs to.
They discuss openly wants -- spotlight is going to be fixated on him as he remains the frontrunner.
He says that he has often talked about these things saying that he isn't well he's found god he had more experience.
But the way that the media scrutiny was on Herman Cain.
And the way that.
He heat had to respond in this way a day after day after day why are we not seeing that same type of scrutiny -- -- think this.
Well I mean I think that his surgeons is is the recent when I think it has everything to do it penned being sort of that now.
Non -- Mitt Romney candidate I mean before his eyes on Bachmann as she you know set -- set aside -- Perry.
And now we've lost.
-- how -- conservatives give him a pass on this I don't understand -- -- you know not that he's not Smart not that he's not you know full of ideas but.
Playing to that audience in Iowa very conservative people.
As social conservatives as well how old are they giving him a pass on this is it -- they that desperate for an anti Romney candidate.
I mean I think fell and and sadly at near Romney he is interviewed this last week did not show well for him and he came off as defensive.
He -- sort of -- down to Brian that they were in the interview.
And I think -- out well -- and and when you're someone that doesn't come out of the process a lot and when you do you come off that way.
I don't think that's a very positive thing I mean I honestly I think you know -- I as mentioned you know right now in congress though.
He's not seeing the same kind of support and we've got Mitt Romney who's got 41 endorsements from the house of represented members -- from the senate.
And Gingrich with only seven endorsements four of which are coming from his home state and Georgia.
So I think it did the memory in congress is actually a good one I think right now the public hasn't.
-- -- -- a look at it I mean the wave of voting public that there is a net new younger.
Group of voting public and and I -- I really do think there is a short term memory issue about I think a lot of the book come to the forefront I -- he's RD sort of starting today but it did stuff that and I think you know he -- his -- claim to fame is being the big idea guy.
And I think in -- way he's sort of the mad professor I mean we know he's Smart he's brilliant.
But he's full of a lot of ideas.
And I love it one of it's got.
Scott Horton was one of the congress members of congress when Romney was speaker of the house came on it -- look.
The guy's got ten ideas a day to were dead six are weird.
And two are very weird mother and you don't believe that you don't it doesn't it coming.
But this she's obviously echoed what.
You say people have not had a short term memory in congress people you know what his record with like that's right the people who worked with Newt Gingrich -- band and know him.
And we all like -- But if I think he thinks these remarks that you can't -- that -- indefensible.
And L were really everybody goes gasps when he when they come out of his mouth like making kids workers janitors or he's attacking and -- health care plan.
The other day he said that they had to he talked he talked Donald Trump into doing ten apprenticeships.
Four four undercut as a but because hand pump was willing to do it because it.
Fit Trump's own child -- What is he thinking -- Play the wealthiest men in America happy because yeah it doesn't make any sense at all and any heat he pretty he proposed free laptops.
For poor children basically he's.
Running his own type of class warfare when he makes these remarks.
And you and you can't these things are indefensible.
Let me ask you who pays for the laptops the government these big ideas with no one paying for them we need to shrink government -- the -- and.
