Etc.
tonight there are reports all over the -- -- some establishment Republicans will not support Newt Gingrich even though the former speaker is one of the most prominent Republicans in the country.
Joining us now from Washington Fox's political analyst Charles Krauthammer saw his Gingrich have a GOP problem shelves.
Let's define our terms -- establishment or are you remember -- television billionaire.
You're an influential guy it's not registered individually who've been -- of elaborate on a thirteen years now would.
I'm not look.
What you buy establishment Republican I mean the people who.
Wield power fund raising power.
And our life.
Long GOP member.
Well I guess that's the reason you have a minimum monthly.
Meetings that we -- -- of the masonic temple but I don't know I was a little bit midnight and he got to bring alive -- And that Karl Rove to brings the consent.
So until you I'm sure -- enjoy that chanting.
And also the pledge of allegiance to the Trilateral Commission all right all right let's stipulate establishment.
Is mostly elected Republican officials be moving in town.
Or watching him working with Newt Gingrich for twenty years OK let's let's stipulate that.
There are two reasons why I think they're against and rightly so large number.
Number -- they're worried that he's too.
He's too erratic government -- And reliable in a way -- so -- sort of the victim of his own creative intelligence he wakes up with.
You know seizing on a new idea.
And these people wonder if he'll wake up 1 morning.
The way he did in the past an -- -- -- or global warming seas with a new idea as president.
And surprised the people by being by being rather on conservative.
So that's number one -- second is I think they're worried about if he can be elected.
And a lot of them are worried that if he were on the ticket.
He would do so badly that he would hurt.
The house insanity and I've heard some talk about what why would -- do mentally how have these you know old got momentum in -- -- Republican precincts now in a primary systems scored well why would he do badly in the general.
Well here's the thinking and of course we don't know right now it's a good question and we will get empirical evidence over the next few months.
When we see especially how Newt.
Does in the primaries that are open that means that independents and Democrats -- -- voted.
So that that'll tell us a lot but the reason that they quote establishment -- -- today.
Is that they think that -- The baggage of not talking about the personal I'm talking about that -- -- the fact that he got the money from Freddie Mac.
They're kind of ideological and if you like commercial problems.
He said in the past they're worried that even though.
The conservative electorate in the primaries.
Will overlook that.
And that care about it because he has been a hero.
To the movement he brought them back to power.
Have -- route forty years of democratic control.
They're afraid that independents.
And disaffected Democrats are in whom the election will hinge.
Will not be as accommodating.
To Newt's problems and.
-- because of his history of going against -- Democratic Party and a little bit strident in some of the public policy areas now you.
These -- very show yesterday it took Gingrich to task for the being remark.
For criticizing Romney and saying.
Yeah I'll give the money back that city and -- any way and when.
-- not friend.
The Freddie and Fannie when -- Romney gives the money to the people he fired when he ran -- and you thought that was that a lot.
That's the classic left cooling critique of capital.
That street critique that you expect from somebody who believes that capitalism is equivalent.
Of Beirut patient's system in which the rich.
Lay off the the working stiffs without any consideration.
And steal money.
I mean in a capitalist system you have what's called creative destruction.
Everybody understands you can have losses.
Bankruptcies.
Layoffs everybody look think of this recession.
Just about every company in America has had to slow him down as a way to protect itself in a recession or it goes under.
It's not too because.
There's malice towards the workers they have to get believe if there ever -- stay -- And recover later when the economy recovers and you -- -- that she had gotten rid of them it's the rhythm of capitalism.
And his attack is an attack from the far left I'm not even sure he believes it but he said he said he said pretty adamantly -- as always thank.
