And welcome back after more than 82 grueling years of war in Iraq officially over the last US troops crossing the border into Kuwait early Sunday morning local time.

Here with their thoughts on this historic moment for the US at least -- Fox News legal analyst KT McFarland Fox News national security analyst and -- -- he's -- Defcon three and Judith Miller Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter.

Author and a Fox News contributor thank you all so much for joining us -- community here one week before Christmas.

And at home for the holidays these troops it headed out of Iraq.

He almost nine years over eight years say that their march 20 2003.

What a difference remember the shock and all the way and then at the -- -- last night which of course it was not eight years ago and has been wonderful seat of footage over the last couple of days is that the troops coming home one thing that's -- It's -- -- at least to me is to be reading about how many.

Are coming home and not being able to jobs.

That's you know one of -- -- of the legacies and I have a great tragedy of this war is that although our military people with terrific.

-- they thought well they thought the surge that turned around disaster situation.

We're coming home how head held high as a nation.

As filter out -- -- -- -- political leaders of both parties.

Really -- -- -- and they said there were weapons of mass destruction there were they said it was gonna be cheap and easy it wasn't they said it was gonna be quick it wasn't.

They said at the end of the day we have a pro America and Iraq we got.

And so I think it really is a lesson to whenever he has -- -- forces overseas we've got to have a very gratifying mission we have to have the forces that are adequate to achieve that.

And then we have to stick to that mission.

And not -- mission -- to take over some of the ten years later.

-- the -- with a big question at the 4500 Ameritech.

Not -- 1000 Americans are injured over a trillion dollars lifelong injuries and one of those military personnel for generating everything is version.

I think the other thing is it that really stays with me is having been there at the beginning and then last year.

Is watching the extraordinary.

Determination of American forces to kind of work with the Iraqis make this work.

Make a success of it and yet the very end.

President the United States would not or could not use the word victory.

To describe this nine year involvement and I think the way in which were leaving this kind of rushed to the door I mean I'm really glad that everybody's going to be home for Christmas I -- The -- we're leaving does not maximize the chances that it.

-- is -- area the answer political move those.

I.

-- ever hinted -- for a President Obama come out and say it was a victory.

Doesn't that sort of in a pact a bush on the map because he's got to get it doesn't give us any credit at all well in the end it right away that if it does fall apart he's hoping that it doesn't fall apart.

Before the election.

So he's claim is his great victory.

Although as well as I do that even if it does what it won't fall apart it won't happen before the election yeah.

I don't know that has.

In fact.

That he -- which is the second largest bloc in the parliament has just announced that.

They despise -- to the prime minister so much that they're not going to participate in the parliament so yeah.

-- -- -- I'm starting futures -- as they try next topic.
