You know the Tea Party was a huge force in the mid term elections of 2010 and they have been very loud and very demanding in the presidential race.
But in many ways -- simply represent yet another part of the conservative coalition in the Republican Party that makes a primary and caucus voters.
Gingrich is success in that straw poll.
It's kind of hard to assess because after all it's a national collection of -- initiated by Tea Party is on their own behalf as opposed to being selected and screened.
But it does suggest that he's still got a lot of momentum behind a nationally.
The problem is the national poll particularly the Gallup survey today suggest that Newt Gingrich has plummeted a fairly astonishing fifteen points just in the last two weeks.
There was a time two weeks ago where he had peaked at over 30%.
Now the latest Gallup poll suggest that is essentially it's just a statistical tie with Mitt Romney.
So mr.
Gingrich has to get his campaign in accelerated high gear right away.
He lacks in organization and he does -- -- -- much as much money of isn't as his rivals so it really does depend on the of his ability to.
Rally the forces in the last two weeks in a way that arguably has never been done before.
So is so -- is slipping with -- well.
He's strong with Tea Party but slipping overall who's gaining.
Well there's that's the big question here in Iowa obviously Mitt Romney is the absolute beneficiary the sense that he's top of the polls.
-- Newt Gingrich and battling back and forth but the next person the most benefit is Ron Paul the Texas congressman and many polls has been tied in a three way race against the other two.
He certainly top tier a very deep organization in Iowa.
And he's on the air with a hole with a whole canvassing of the airwaves with attack ads and ads promoting himself.
In addition Rick Perry seems to have raised has risen a little bit in the polls.
In the last several days he's been on the air he's also in the middle of a very aggressive bus tour which will take -- with some 45 cities before the caucuses are over.
And lastly Rick Santorum the Pennsylvania senator former Pennsylvania senator who complained for so many weeks that he wasn't getting appropriate attention in the debates and couldn't get heard.
Is apparently now being heard by caucus goers evangelical Christian social conservatives -- giving him a second look he's been working very hard and outside of the polls.
