Well I just couple of minutes ago we had somebody who wants to be president of the United States Michelle Bachmann and now we go to -- New Hampshire where he's on his bus tour.

And the former governor -- the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Mitt Romney joins us -- morning to you sir.

The lines they have it's a hair piece that's what I did -- last.

-- this.

I guess I I guess I got got a good -- real -- way to go it could be windy out of the road today.

That's -- governor let's talk a little bit about the campaign.

Yesterday Newt Gingrich is on the O'Reilly Factor.

And he has really been spreading the message for quite some time that he does not believe in negative campaigning no negative ads he says he will again he will defend himself when attacked.

But not start them.

He offered this challenge to you I want you take a listen and respond.

This fact was created by.

Funded by this person.

I'm so they're probably mislead.

Clearly.

Politics works well.

Post your attention this afternoon when -- guessed it -- -- any further -- it's asked that affect your own positive.

So can you do that governor can you ask your pack.

To only run positive ads and will you do that.

Well there are limits as to what you could tell a pack obviously there -- these coordination rules -- -- a lot better better coordinate but I'm sure I can go out and say hey.

Please don't do anything negative but but you know.

This is politics.

And if he can't stand the heat in this little -- and wait until the Obama hell's kitchen turns up the look at this is this is a time we have to be able to stand up defend ourselves.

I've done the hard work of raising of money for ads and the speaker came after me.

Pretty pretty aggressively -- his attacks we're gonna respondent and we've got an -- campaign in my campaign that's positive.

But this a super -- that's been organized and it has to do what it does on an on court and Gordon coordinated basis.

Well obviously the speaker doesn't like the ads because.

-- -- adds Ron Paul's ads have taken.

They're all on his campaign you look at the numbers he was way up there and now he's moderating he and you are neck and neck.

Well I think cat as people have taken a look at at his record and and that the fact that that that these ads that have come from campaigns in my case not Smart campaign but from -- super -- that was organized to help make.

At that point about some of the aspects of his record that people weren't aware of and that's -- the numbers down by the way.

There's there's nothing that any of these -- a by any of the candidates are showing about speaker Gingrich.

The President Obama would not put out within a billion dollar money that he's gonna have down the road so it's it's it's probably a good time for people to see these things to make make up their mind.

Governor -- -- all these polls are seeing a different from last week couldn't and we were on our show you really rising and a lot of polls in an Iowa particular something else happening.

Ron Paul is leading the real clear politics projection.

What does it say about the people of Iowa as a libertarian.

With the would -- relatively out of the box view of our national policy in future is leading that race.

Well I you know I think Ron Paul is run a very effective campaign he's been that -- hard working.

And he's he's represented himself well in the debates.

I don't believe you become our nominee.

I believe his views are well a lot of the mainstream of Republican thought but but he may be able to get some folks -- supported.

In early contest or to -- maybe down the road as well so you have to tip your hat and say is doing a nice job representing his views.

Governor one of the biggest endorsements that you received quite some time ago was governor Chris Christie of New Jersey and he's been.

Out on the stump for you specifically in Iowa New Hampshire and elsewhere.

Yesterday he said something that caught the attention of a lot of people.

And I wonder how you would react to this here's his quote.

Do I wish that Mitt Romney would be a little edgy year and -- sure and I've told him that.

I've told him that privately he knows that I feel that way but he is who he it's.

What do you make -- -- and are you taking his advice.

-- I think his advice was that I am what I am.

And there are times when if I have to be tough but you can -- the debates a couple of times for that occurred well to be tough.

But I'm not willing to be a bomb thrower are to go over the top and say outrageous or outlandish things are.

Incendiary things simply for the purpose of getting people excited and -- I'm hoping to become president of the United States not a talk show host way.

There -- plenty of those already you have.

That's genetic.

They governor I got to ask you about the big battle on Washington because it affects every single American a year on the stump every single day.

The payroll tax holiday.

Number one.

A US is just a band aid but it would put a thousand more dollars in people's pockets and it's for a year do you side with the senate Republicans who said passage for two months.

Or -- -- -- -- the side with the house Republicans that -- will not do this and -- it's twelve months.

You know these kind of internal battles in Washington sent -- make you scratch your head.

They ought to get the job done I'd like to see this payroll tax Holliday extended.

And I just don't believe in raising taxes on people at a critical time like this I I hope the people in the house.

And the senate come together get this worked out.

Hopefully before the new -- sets up is it bad for the party that they haven't like Senator McCain continued yesterday.

You know I I think it's helpful if if we can speak with one voice but you know we elect a lot of lot of people to go to Washington they have differing views they have to work those out and hopefully hammer something out -- to protect.

The American people other at a critical time -- raise your taxes right now it's not a good idea but but do recognize.

This payroll tax holiday is it is a nice they do for folks but it's not gonna get the economy going again it is it is just a bad day right checking.

Actually the interesting thing is that actually could affect you personally though because many people are linking it to the fact that President Obama has gone up in approval ratings in the polls in the last week.

Because congress cannot get this done and that he will be able to use this even his state of the union message to call out Republicans as a do nothing party.

You know that that the president has proven that he is an attack dog there's no question these divisive and attacking it's one of the reasons that Washington is broken is that we have a president.

Who attacks -- that leads.

And the president ought to be personally involved in this process and working to try and encourage some rapprochement between the various parties including his own party by the way.

The Republicans don't have the majority in the senate.

The Democrats have the majority in the senate.

I think people were remember that -- -- they'll also remember that the president had both houses in his party for his first two years he put through his agenda.

How that worked out she got so well.

We've got to continue to have people unemployed housing values going down but the president's it agenda has not worked this isn't a Republican problem it's -- leadership problem of that -- of the White House.

And of course so one -- the the number two guy at the White House is Joseph Biden.

I'm sure you heard he did it during an interview with the Newsweek.

Newsweek magazine he said that the Taliban.

He's not the enemy per say.

That's critical.

Well.

Governor if they're not our enemy and why they shouldn't have that's why they kill and us.

I I think it's one of the most -- strange comments ever to be uttered by the lips of a vice president edit and that and this vice president particulars at some strange things so.

That this is really extraordinary I I can't imagine we are we are fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan they are killing American soldiers.

To suggest they're not our enemy is absent extraordinary and that -- communication confuses our friends in Afghanistan our friends around the world.

Where in the world is this vice president coming from a what do you make of it real quickly I mean is is it a strategy -- -- mystique.

Oh I think it's what he thinks idea.

I think that I I think the Obama administration continues to try and narrow the group of people they consider our enemies to be an almost not exist so they exist -- group.

That they don't want to suggest that jihadist of all kinds have is their intent the attacking America attacking our values.

And we have to stand up for the the kind of approach that we've had of of the prior president to recognize that we're gonna fight.

Jihad -- -- around the world -- -- -- be honest to this question please -- the boss I heard you just rolled it out -- just a bit shrink -- off Ed what's it like is that it.

-- in the bus right now and -- this the first time I saw it came here to do this interview got to see -- this morning looks pretty nice actually.

We just read that we're going to be going up but not New Hampshire and and Iowa over the next couple weeks.

And it's made in America.

And I think they -- an America that's right I think governor you should actually dried -- yeah -- the other candidate.

Back you up on the -- front.

I think commander and chief of the bus.

There -- -- there might let me drive it in the parking lot but it's illegal for me to drive this on the road -- -- and a specialist I.

Last bus with all your sons and it and I have to say to bathrooms are all clean right so good to see you governor.

Thanks Greta good to see you -- those good.
