But even the vitamin companies doctor would say -- these aren't magic pills I mean these are supplements they are supposed to supplement what you're not getting if you're -- she goes in big Macs every day.

You're certainly not in any healthier just because your pop and a few pills.

Well that's right and vitamins really work.

-- there is a deficiency of vitamin -- if you're not getting them properly in your diet and you need to be supplemented there are some things.

We're vitamins are very important and they do make a difference we know that calcium for example with older women.

Does help reduce and prevent fractures.

And there are there certain things that where that where they vitamins make a real difference but.

Taking a multivitamin.

Every day if you're looking for a long term prevention for cancer or heart disease or even just to feel better.

Just doesn't that have that impact now I don't think it's hardly at all.

But but it's -- gonna start gonna keep you out of the woods for this serious diseases.

Well imagine yeah also vitamin.

And people rely very heavily on their vitamins because they think like.

Snake oil 200 years ago this is gonna make them better would you advise your patients -- Quit taking vitamins altogether or just take certain vitamins.

Well here's my advice again I don't think it's harmful to take a multi vitamin every day.

But really far more impact would be.

Keeping your weight down and not being obese or overweight.

Much bigger impact -- multi vitamins don't smoke cigarettes don't use tobacco.

Exercise.

Get 45 minutes to an hour of exercise -- for five days a week.

And the food you -- it should be.

With a lot of fresh vegetables.

And fruit and nuts and small portions.

And you know it's it sounds so simple but if most people did that.

We can cut down disease here in this country and around the world.

In a really dramatic way.
