Note Rick Santorum has presidential campaign is taken off like a rocket after placing second to Mitt Romney in Iowa he is now fighting to turn the momentum.

They got there -- -- successful showing in New Hampshire.

Reports are is that about a million dollars into the coffers -- -- the big idol -- and that's certainly feeding all that momentum.

Joined now by New Hampshire senator Kelly a guy who is just returning from -- -- campaign -- she is a supporter of Mitt Romney senator welcome good to having -- today.

Banks aren't that great to be -- you say take a look you know across all the blogs this morning in the newspapers in the big news is that Mitt Romney has.

Rick Santorum and is sort of conservative.

Element in this campaign has got a head of steam coming into this and Newt Gingrich.

This fired up partly out of anger over what happened in Iowa and that he -- hit the ground right in there as well -- thank.

Well I think that -- -- has a very strong grassroots campaign here he's working very hard we just came back from an event in Salem.

Great enthusiasm for his candidacy and you can see.

That enthusiasm out there is not taking anything for granted in New Hampshire he's working hard to earn the support of New Hampshire voters.

Obviously he's got a nice the margin of by most of the polls that we've seen.

In New Hampshire it looks like he's doing fairly well there.

But all of this comes into the mix -- we head forward and I guess it raises the question because he's got that big margin and there's that we're looking at the numbers right now.

Up 40% Burton.

For Romney and the next closest is Ron Paul -- an upper teens.

According to this particular numbers which is the real clear.

Politics average that you look at there but so does not think the question you know if he doesn't do as well as expected.

What happens -- the expectations are so -- for him could a person who comes in with a strong second and that being the story New Hampshire.

I just say you know win is -- win and he has a national strategy.

I think like any unlike many of these other candidates he's prepared to go the distance in each state.

I mean look at the state of Virginia I mean he is he and Ron -- -- the only Republicans registered there.

And so I think that you also have to look at who has the ability to take on Barack Obama.

And beat him in November of 2012 and that's Mitt Romney are ideally we heard from Karl Rove some of the issues that Santorum -- happened with filing in getting -- petitions and and all of this goes to the argument organization -- -- so much about after receiving parts of that.

As it is these things play out -- just a little pieces sound and wanna get your reaction to you -- that we have now.

There are a lot of undecided voters up here and and a lot of the folks that that is you know where some are supporting governor around -- supporting him because well they think he's gonna win and you know you're gonna be with a winner and I think a lot of folks are looking not just for the winner here in New Hampshire.

But he's going to be the winner long term and I think you're gonna see our our numbers start start to pop up at some of these other early primary states.

We feel very -- we've been able to raise almost a million dollars today.

Rick Santorum talking about the momentum that he's feeling.

And Rush Limbaugh on the radio today in a talking -- Santorum saying that he is sort of capturing something in his speech in Iowa the other night that conservatives have been long looking for.

You know what it what do you make of that are you at all concerned that Santorum kind of is capable pawn off a big surprise -- in Hampshire as well.

Well I'm not surprised that he got -- from Iowa.

He was in single digits in New Hampshire before but he he's still really only at the beginning a double digits so I don't think that if he's really had a one state strategy.

And having that national campaign to be able to go the distance is so important even -- single -- and I think he's been in New Hampshire 31 times so I think he says is not a one state he has yet I am tired.

Well I have to tell you though in the last couple months.

Really his focus has been Iowa where Mitt Romney has been here much more than he has.

And when you look at who's supporting governor Romney he really has that grassroots support from a strong conservatives support here.

You know myself.

Many other strong conservatives that are supporting him here than that I think we'll be very helpful on January 10 -- look ahead as South Carolina.

And Florida insisting that the real clear average right now has Gingrich up.

Pretty substantially in both South Carolina and in Florida and you talk about Romney's you know national status as it -- or in the campaign.

How how does that have South Carolina part of program.

Well you know I think that obviously South Carolina and Florida are going to be important.

But the winner of New Hampshire we'll get a big boost going into South Carolina -- -- in the past.

If you look at the election -- John McCain when he won New Hampshire.

He then went into South Carolina and got to a big boost because Romney was leading him before he won New Hampshire and South Carolina.

And he took -- -- so I think that this is gonna make a big difference as we go forward.

And certainly governor Romney is going to be campaigning that making millions South Carolina he's got her support got -- these buildings and very strong support South Carolina as well indeed he has and he wants to see that not happen the way it happened last time so.

Kelly at thank you so much senator very good to see thanks I had a pretty solid oak -- -- in New Hampshire good to have you.
