-- controversy over a movie about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden is back in the spotlight today.

Both the CIA and the Pentagon are launching investigations into whether the filmmakers were given access to classified information.

The film is set for release later this year.

Joining me now the content -- demanded this investigation.

New York's Peter King the chairman of the house homeland security committee.

Mr.

chairman thank you so much for being here I want to ask you -- -- pushing for this and now you've gotten what you wanted but what is your evidence.

That any classified information was given to Kathryn Bigelow whose the producer behind it who actually won an Academy Award for the hurt lockers well.

It was several things -- which is why yesterday investigation one is.

Going back to may after -- raid was carried out I give the president tremendous credit for carrying it out.

Information starting group here in various.

-- locations newspapers magazines it's after.

Which compromise our -- that's on the ground is at least one person I know in Pakistan who is the been arrested and treated very badly.

By the pakistanis because information that the administration leaked out that we fast forward to July or August and it comes out that this film was going to be done.

It's going to be coming out before election which is fine.

Except that -- people and Maureen Dowd saying that they know.

That.

I don't -- about the fact that the administration was gonna give Sony Kathryn Bigelow.

Unprecedented access to the most question -- operation -- history.

Gone on about how this would be so -- president -- so I've put the two together of seeing what they've already leaked out.

What they themselves were leaked -- like the New Yorker Magazine.

Which actually -- the aways that our helicopters -- Pakistani radar as you put all live together with the fact that this is going to be unprecedented access.

I call on the Pentagon to do an investigation and dismissed it cavalierly.

At a at a press conference said at a press briefing saying Irish are more important to do in the worry about a Hollywood film.

While the Defense Department.

Did do a preliminary investigation and based on that.

Inspector general has decided to go ahead with a full investigation.

Over what happened as far as -- information available how was being done what's gonna happen.

And so again I feel very vindicated on this because was Defense Department.

Not just responding to my request but they did the wrong preliminary investigation before they announced -- a full scale of us.

And does it happen sometimes that the Defense Department would do a preliminary investigation that would come back and say.

There's no there there we're not going forward with a full investigation.

Oh sure yeah I mean they wouldn't they would wasted time and I have so many other things -- looking at they would be wasting that -- on this.

By going ahead with a full investigation -- stated -- there was at least probable cause to you know to go ahead with that if this was just me saying.

-- relevant let's have an investigation I don't want the president get a good film.

Then that yet if I must do something -- again and he's probable cause they know they wouldn't go forward now.

Is there some value to releasing information obviously can't -- class of information that's clear that's not legal but.

Something less than classified you know something that normally would be kept confidential but the administration releases it to a filmmaker like Bigelow.

Because it in for a historical and documentary -- -- -- to let the American people in the world -- a bit more.

About one of the most important reads and taking out you know the most hated terrorists on earth.

Yeah I -- -- appreciate the point that you make and I would say the answer is yes but that should be done so carefully.

This should be a panel set up your job as defense -- problems CIA.

Everyone involved in special operations sitting down.

To make sure that nothing and that's being turned over can work against -- you may have someone in the administration not even realize the full consequences.

Of what they're handing over and I'll listen this was done -- world -- so if we could again have a board which would scrutinized and be very careful about what's being turned over.

Argument is that -- who is information that was put out by the administration back in May.

About a Doctor -- was going around give giving injections of people they were using that -- -- DNA of a bin Laden.

Addams Family members make sure it was him which we put -- by the administration where doctors in jail.

The pakistanis arrested him and his other instances I can give.

-- -- -- me when she was not known yet.

But I mean there are instances where this is really compromises.

And again even like the article in the -- New Yorker Magazine going into great detail how are helicopters were able to evade.

Pakistani -- on the route they took the way they went behind the mountains or what.

That's just.

Would they can't be doing that it's been provided by averages are people over and -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Kind of and I I have literally forty seconds -- heartbreak but why do you think the administration would be classified information if they did.

They may not realize the full impact what they're doing sometimes you have average is running the operation.

I think I doubt if -- -- almost certainly did not give I was contacted by people in the intelligence community out of the military.

Saying that they were really really.

Disappointment and shocked by what was being leaked out.

I've video former CIA person was pointing out over twenty instances in the New Yorker Magazine known at all of information he -- quite surprised and -- -- Understood congressman Pete king thank you so much coming up.
