This new analysis this morning shows that more voters made it to the polls in New Hampshire this year.
Then four years ago higher turnout in 2008 just over 239000.
Voters.
Came out for the Republican side of the primary they were both primaries of course -- time around.
And now this year the number was up by about 101000 people here's some other reaction to the vote in New Hampshire.
I voted with someone that I thought.
Could bring -- it's the economy back a little bit.
I found that severe really difficult decision I don't really feel strongly toward one candidate or another stay on -- and it's tough.
Very tough time decision -- heinous -- I'm worried about the real leadership.
On the on the Republican side -- I hope somebody steps up.
Interesting comments from -- -- New Hampshire their -- previous joins me chairman of the Republican national.
Committee they don't -- too fired up about anybody -- Well you get to people look why I'm just saying what I can tell -- is that.
Well what I can tell you is Martha that year right voter turnout was -- this year as opposed to four years ago.
But I think most importantly -- you look at where George Bush was you know four and compare that to Obama.
In New Hampshire last night George Bush that he received 69000.
Votes.
In 04 and for all the bragging that the Democrats know the team Obama is doing about how many offices they have been.
All these people on the ground -- 50000 votes last night.
The war and -- worse than that for Obama.
If you look at is pulling his upside down in New Hampshire only 40% of the people approve of the job he's doing and as far as the ground game goes Martha really the work that we need to do.
Were outpacing the Democrat the Democrats in border registration have an 8500 dollar a hundred dollar 8500 vote.
Put the surplus release the advantage against the Democrats.
And they were completely.
They had an advantage against this for years ago and all of that has evaporated so.
Looking at the numbers we had a.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- A fair amount of that sentiment as we -- see the whole process that people weren't really the real that there was a standout sort of person who is running away with that do you think now that it's time for Republicans to you know gather behind -- -- may.
Well.
I mean south Carolina's going to be a big test and of course we've got the Florida and Nevada caucuses in on Nevada has the full.
Slate of delegates it's the really the the first full slate of delegates is happening in Nevada so I think you get a a couple more contests here.
It's not -- -- you know to play traffic cop as far as who runs and who doesn't and quite frankly I think the voters are sick and tired of party bosses and people in Washington telling down.
How they shouldn't how they should operate so I think that what's happening here is great for bass and great for our opportunity to have to save this country.
And and really defeat.
A president that just doesn't get it doesn't for -- promises from.
One of the things talking about when I was cover an exit polls last and I found it very interesting when we sought an increase in the turn out.
And we would determine -- they are mad that may been driven by independent voters who were coming out to vote in the GOP.
Primaries in New Hampshire last night.
-- clearly say you know -- as -- -- of that Republican Party you wanna bring in the folks who may have been independent voted for the president last time around but who may want to be going the other way this time around.
How what's your indication of how those numbers are and whether or not you're able to sort of bring in some of those folks.
Book clearly went when someone who wasn't in the pending another way New Hampshire works is you actually do you have to register as a Republican vote and the Republican primary but you can do it on the same day it's a technicality but but I know it's -- -- people consider yourself to the independents -- -- -- That's right yeah that's right no I'm not calling with the and that -- I think it's a good indicator that.
Want someone invests in you -- want someone comes over to your side of the aisle so to speak and they say.
I'm with you now and I'm not what this president.
That has an enormous impact in our ability to make sure that they stay with us in November -- twelve which of course.
In New Hampshire being a a battleground state is really where the prize is a mean.
Last -- an important night for our party but we need to make sure that New Hampshire is red.
In November that's really where this battle lies and -- and that's what we're focused yeah that that's tantamount rise thank you so much -- is -- -- -- and Martha.
