-- Charles heard he came here as he is a columnist for The Washington Times here who quota.
An article up pretty much.
Blasting a couple of the guys who didn't finish first.
Charles welcome you you can airstrike.
Yeah I can hear you know and I'm glad to be with you I wouldn't wanna be anywhere out of here Charlie -- framing it that our confidence is out on the back.
After that we do appreciate that not -- you Rhode.
A piece for The Washington Times in which you really take on the Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich.
For their attacks on Mitt Romney of late -- what's your problem with what they've had to say it.
Yeah I think within the last 48 hours both Rick Perry and Newt Gingrich and sort of the stepped up these attacks.
Attacking Mitt Romney for for his -- for his time working in a private equity firm.
Rick Perry -- vulture they're liking into news there they're sort of playing these weird class warfare game in and in the middle Republican.
You know you there's -- planning to make fun of and to criticize Mitt Romney about but goodness if for participating.
Successfully in making a lot of money.
In in Americans free market that's not one -- and I think it really does undermine.
Their own credibility.
In a Republican nomination.
It sort of makes them look silly and conservatives just -- it really turns them off.
And I and I think it.
Basically put them both out of contention as serious.
Alternatives to the Mitt Romney.
Well Gingrich especially head of valve that he would run a positive campaign and then he got -- raked over the coals in Iowa.
By his fellow Republicans is this just a bit of payback on his part.
I think two very large degree.
That is it and you know there's nothing wrong with that going negative I mean if if if Newt Gingrich wants to go negative against his in his opponents in the primary and portray them as somehow unqualified to be the nominee that's great.
That you go -- it.
But but but doing -- sort of class warfare the kind of thing you expect from President Obama or Democrats in the general election.
For for them to do that sort of thing in the middle -- -- Republican primary it just turns voters off and I think we saw that it was it was very well reflected in the numbers we saw last night.
Where Romney did very well Newt Gingrich did very poorly Rick Perry wasn't even I mean he -- even I.
He barely -- Michelle Bachmann and Herman Cain is writing this and and and it'll be itching to see what happens in South Carolina.
But I know that I I'm I'm certain that.
That this turns off a lot of voters.
In -- in places like South Carolina and Florida because I've I've heard from the -- or spoken to them.
So you're saying it's it's not necessarily a bad thing to go negative in this Republican primary you're just saying that the issue is is -- one that won't work.
Absolutely I mean you know going negative I've always sort of I -- I love negative campaigning because it really does show the differences between candidates.
And I think voters are Smart enough to dismiss.
That which is sort of below the belt or penalize people who go below the belt.
But but negative you know -- hard hitting negative ads.
Are great and and they toughen up -- nominee and they expose the sort of the real issues that are likely to come out and a general election it's all very healthy.
But this this is not even in this argument it's a -- did you know.
-- private equity firms provide a tremendous service.
To the economy.
They create jobs far more than they than they -- they eliminate jobs they make companies healthier which is a good thing all this is very good.
And and Republicans and conservatives.
They understand that.
And end for them attempted to sort of reach for this class warfare -- it that it does that a class warfare tactic that doesn't even work.
Among other things it's just it reveals.
A real stupidity on their part.
Well and you use that term in this line in the article I wanted to read it there are meeting -- Perry is in Gingrich's.
Their contempt and stupidity stupidity about America's free -- is matched only by the current occupant of the White House.
Who has never created a single job without public money and never made a sense.
Doing anything other than run his mouth.
Are you maybe not expecting to get invited to the next White House Christmas party for.
I think I've been off that list for a long time which I eyewear -- a badge of honor.
But but but honestly you know that is where our Rick Perry in new Gingrich needs sort of consider that to blizzard they've both -- -- politics for very long time.
They they have enjoyed the largess of the of the enormous taxes.
That company's private equity firms and other companies have been paying.
You know maybe they should be a little bit more.
Thoughtful of taxpayers.
Then to just trash them for making good money all right South Carolina you're gonna be seeing a blizzard of ads come -- up pay attention.
Charlie -- earlier -- Washington times thanks --
