Let's get some thoughts now on the Romney tax issue from senior political analyst for him to -- -- -- -- breath.

It is a strange fact of political life of the world very often looks different from the inside of a campaign and from the outside.

This may help explain the slow and even inept response -- the Romney campaign to questions about his role in Bain Capital and his tax returns.

It was quickly apparent outside observers -- both issues were potentially troublesome as they feed the notion that Romney is a rich guy -- concern with the ordinary people.

There is a case to be made that Bain Capital under Romney was a benefit to the nation's economy and to its workers.

But -- has yet to make that case in any detail same thing on the tax returns running indicated on Monday he would release his tax returns at some point this year.

Denny took an educated guess in public the next day about his tax rate.

Thereby making -- headline in keeping the story alive but still without releasing -- turned the returns and getting you know with.

Consider though how these matters may have -- from the inside a major political campaign is a coordinated operation.

Communicating through the candidate his surrogates and through TV and radio ads.

He stays events and message or plan and it is unwise to allow every question that comes along to throw you off stride and off message.

But sometimes things arise -- -- to be answered and the trick is to know the difference.

-- -- the Romney campaign like most campaigns has yet to master -- We've been talking a lot about these attacks on Mitt Romney we've talked about Ron Paul's steady.

Loyal support but.

Part of this story is the Newt Gingrich Rick Santorum -- especially in South Carolina exactly it you know.

Gingrich looks like he's may be rising there and doing well I'd like to get Santorum -- other ways so that he could take that vote so what he did it.

He tells Santorum who has beaten him in both our New Hampshire that Santorum -- to get out of the race.

I mean if you're trying to keep Santorum in the race you could not have done better and that's.

Think that's what he did remarkable.

-- -- -- thank you.
