-- congratulations on the South Carolina win we have not seen you since that time and then you're off to yet another debate.
Now the that -- that thinking has been that you do so well in debates that you probably like capping all of these debates.
But what was your reaction to last night's debate because the audience was taken out of it and -- to this point the audience has been -- -- fame.
Yeah I Iowa should retrospect I protest that would Brian Williams took him out of the visiting it's wrong and I think he took -- -- because the media is terrified.
That the audience is gonna side with the candidates against the media which is what they've done in every debated -- units of blood serve notice on future debates we won't call -- What is not going to allow that to happen.
That's wrong the media doesn't control free speech people ought to be allowed to applaud if they want to as it was almost silly.
But.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- But that's just part of the business I wanna continue to focus -- President Obama went continue to focus -- jobs getting the economy growing again.
And then and helping the housing -- situation which is so really really difficult here in Florida.
That in new for the first time that I can remember your in the debate is the front runner and I understand that maybe the strategy changes.
I know I so you're younger debate coaches so I'm not sure if you -- to anybody else in the grandkids but it was hard not to notice that you're focusing more the president and and less on the others on the stage do you regret that strategy.
Not in fact I talked of Maggie and Robert before the debate and we -- you you know they they went through the -- and you know she's twelve and he's ten but they've had good advice I guess I only agreed.
That is.
You know I should be positive -- -- -- -- on this and look you know be positive.
Focus on Obama.
If the other guy it's actually just sort of smiled pleasantly Robert I talked about what do you do invisible in the playground is -- -- got a -- you -- straightforward and don't -- of intimidation.
So I felt -- debate coaches came through last night and I was very comfortable.
And I didn't want to get into some kind of brawl with Romney immediately what they say is this patently untrue -- will prove that -- -- dot org and we're gonna put up a section Romney's falsehoods.
But I want to focus my time talking with the American people.
About things like -- -- Things like what's happening in Egypt.
And concerns we have for -- -- -- South America through difficulties in our own economy I think you know we have a chance of the nation with you.
You ought to focus on things big enough that it would change the lives of people.
Sure but of course you're here this morning to talk a little bit about what you did talk about last night and -- you and Mick did have quite as spirited.
Punch fast if you will.
He he seem to get under your skin though when he referred to you and I I know you were consultant that's how you're defined by -- a contract with Freddie Mac.
No I knew you were consultant.
He said you know more of a lobbyist and he you see the term influence peddler a couple of times.
And that seemed to really get under your skin.
You know somebody who is.
As wealthy as he is as well educated as he -- has been a governor.
There ought -- -- some minimal level of honesty when I first started running.
Several of his former competitors from 20072000.
-- said to me you just need to understand this guy will be dishonest.
We have -- a commercial up.
That shows both of Mike Huckabee and that John McCain talking about -- dishonesty.
It was -- frankly surprising to stand next this guy.
And -- say things that there was so outrageously dishonest on this just I want I want what do you think -- -- about it assure oh pardon the eruption what did he say in particular that you just sit out that is such such a big fat why can't market.
-- a case of Medicare part B.
I have been for modernizing Medicare for my whole career.
I've been for developing a program where you got the best proper medication because it saves lots of money -- with we don't give you insulin.
When you have diabetes but we will pay for kidney dialysis.
That's as both inhumane as financially stupid.
Now that's been my public position for my whole career and for for -- to come along and say I'm influence peddling because as a citizen I speak out.
And I say something I believe some have written a book on -- a -- of the center for somebody -- gives speech about right.
But what -- -- dishonest use of the word but what about the Freddie Mac stuff what he was he wrong in saying that you wanna influenced -- for that.
First of all the great irony which we didn't learn to laugh the debate is he owns Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae stock.
And here's this guy making his big deal.
He I don't any Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae stock he does so presumably he was getting richer.
I didn't know lobbying of any kind we -- -- very specific understanding I would not lobby.
My advice sentenced to them which is actually published -- -- website is they needed better regulations.
And my advice to the congress is a citizen was don't give them any more money.
Do not bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that's -- times.
In July of 2008 I have two witnesses -- Rick Lazio who was chairman of the of the housing committee and congressman JC watts who is head of the Freddie Freddie Mac watched me for seven years both of must have flatly.
They would never approached by -- so his charges is.
It's untrue he knows it's untrue and he's saying it out of pure desperation.
I just find that sad as a way to run for president -- you know our format of our show we're up against a break for real quick do you think did this was Mitt Romney's night last night.
Not much I think I think watching some desperate -- threw -- wild punches doesn't getting very close to the presidency.
People want stability they want honesty they want -- accuracy.
And it is as Mike Huckabee says the commercial guy -- -- lie -- to get the job will -- to to keep the job and I think last night people got a chance to see just how desperate Mitt Romney is well.
-- see another debate coming up Thursday night before everyone votes in Florida a speaker of the house formerly Newt Gingrich thanks for being here this morning.
