-- -- Fox's alert tension reigned in Arizona tonight President Obama touched down in Phoenix a short time ago.

And he was greeted by Arizona governor Jan Brewer but things for far from cordial now.

The governor can be seen handing President Obama a hand written letter inviting him to return to Arizona.

And -- accompany her to the border but the president apparently was not in the mood for pleasantries why.

President Obama thought that the tarmac meeting was an appropriate time.

To critique her book scorpions for breakfast now according to the press pool the -- got in a heated conversation.

Over a passage in the governor's book.

Apparently Obama took issue with how governor brewer described their meeting at the White House about the Arizona immigration law back in twenty -- How the governor was clearly shaken up by the exchange told reporters that he walked away before she could finish -- sends.

And said quote I said -- hand you know I have always respected the office of the president.

And that the book.

Is what the book is I said I was sorry that he felt that way.

Anyway we're glad he's here and we'll regroup joining me now with reaction to that much more former speaker of the house presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.

Don't think it and you know it is look at the Drudge Report.

And just you're just one day's worth of attacks -- criticisms of the you know leveled by many of your critics in one day.

And that's one thing is gotten to the president what does that say about him.

Well -- the thing that's fascinating when I read the story.

You know that governor brewer is telling the truth because he acted as arrogantly and as.

-- lead to her on the tarmac.

As she suggested he had in the Oval Office that wasn't the behavior -- -- is -- gosh I'm sorry you felt that way.

He's back police she described him as lecturing -- in the Oval Office and what are we seeing at the foot of Air Force One he's lecturing.

So you know that her versions right.

And it tells you how thin -- I think how utterly unable to relate to other people.

That President Obama is -- he's terrific in -- -- -- -- But at least with Republicans he seems to have almost no ability.

To receive incoming information.

Or to listen to the other side.

You know is very interest he's speaking -- listening to the other side personal he said last night that America is back I'm sure you would take issue with that.

And that he said we've got to follow the the the example the military would probably will all -- work together -- lower the temperature in this town.

The same guy that said if they bring a knife to the fight we bring a gun.

The same guy that said that Republicans -- dirty -- dirty water and then all people to not have health care.

What did you think of the speech overall.

Well I thought the speech at a couple of of fascinating moments.

You know I don't know the White House understood that when he called for a 30% tax -- Saudi he would be doubling.

The capital gains tax.

-- you double the capital gains tax you're gonna crash the stock market you're gonna affect every pension fund in the country you're gonna we -- every 401K.

You're gonna drive capital out of the country.

You're gonna stop the investment mean this is an end if they -- I'm not sure he understood it but if he -- genuinely 30%.

Minimum tax.

That would mean that he is prescribing a decade of unemployment.

And I think that that's.

Very very sobering frankly when you look at that.

All right let's go to the comments of former speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi and she basically say and she knows something in this about the first time she said this.

This is now the second time we were locked in a rule four of us.

I -- information.

They might be issues I think involving ethics for her -- put that aside for minute.

And you -- -- we -- good friends Nancy Pelosi what she said.

A country in mind when you think about the possibility which is more real today that it was a week -- month ago.

That he would be the Republican nominee and that you could come back here next January next February.

But a president -- -- And I'm just saying this.

That will never happen.

Why he's not going to be president of the United States forces here that that's not going to have to let let me just make my prediction in standby it.

It isn't going to happen -- so sure.

There's something I know the Republicans if they choose to nominate him and that there provocative.

Second time she said this the last time she referred to the fact that she was you know involved in these ethics investigators -- -- why you laughing.

Well because this morning I said.

You know shut -- put up or shut up and this -- she said we'll actually -- just a friend of my public record and my policies.

-- and she backed down totally.

But frankly Sean I'd much rather be attacked by Nancy Pelosi and endorsed -- or so I was kind of grateful that she took the right position for -- left wing Democrat.

Why you're not you're really regretting and I ask you about this when you did that that bet and with -- on the on the on the Green issue.

I -- you're -- -- a familiar gonna Marlins leave you did say it was stupid and and -- -- you set it was a mistake and it's all right so I let me go now what Vice President Biden -- way to end.

I got a lot of like got a lot of -- -- -- -- -- Europe apparently a lot of people you're very popular these days a lot of people talking about you so.

-- -- -- Vice President Biden response to your food stamp comment.

It meaning Obama's the food stamp president here's what he set.

It's hard to respond to new -- with those kind of ridiculous statements but look come the fact is that turned.

43 -- people -- getting enough.

We'll bring the driver -- -- married people.

The president talked about what we do think is fair is fair to give the middle class a fighting shot here we have a different priorities set to Newt Gingrich in the fairway and and then our Republican colleagues happy.

Call the former -- statements ridiculous -- do you think he's playing racial politics when he calls President Obama food stamp president.

You know it's hard to tell what for me I'm not do so I'm not very facetious but it's just hard to tell -- what.

What what -- -- and he he he he says a lot.

-- twelve million more people since Barack Obama become president that are on food stamps.

That's just factually accurate.

Why is this become such an explosive term and issue in your mind.

I think that the left is terrified that we will Begin to communicate effectively.

How destructive policies are.

How much they deprive people of opportunity.

And if you contrast tape they paycheck candidate which -- what I wanna be with a food stamp president.

I think it becomes very hard for them to win reelection now the fact is.

That Barack Obama believes in big government he believes in high taxes his policies that kill jobs you just killed.

Jobs with with his veto of the pipeline in the midwest.

So you've got a president who is I think in many ways.

Committed to policies that put people on food stamps.

And they don't want to get into this kind of an argument because they know that they will lose the argument.

Because overwhelmingly Americans would rather be at work earning a paycheck and let me remind you that.

Their policies the president -- gonna say everything's fine I was campaigning in South Carolina last week.

Very high unemployment levels we're in Florida now very high unemployment levels very big housing problems.

And for the president has suggested things are okay.

As a sign of how out of touch with everyday Americans.

The administration now is.

-- the campaign is getting very heated.

South Carolina I mean I guess this really goes back to Iowa and you add to you know 101214.

Million dollars whatever thrown -- ads that you buy a buy super pac.

He said I was -- gonna get out or -- or unilaterally disarming get out or I was gonna fight back.

So now it's gone back and forth hidden in just the last week Mitt Romney has said you were a Washington insider.

That you resigned in disgrace that you're an influence -- -- an inside player.

And I was on the program -- and I asked them about this because it is getting personal.

And I wanted to give you a chance to respond tonight.

And your reaction.

Well look.

I think he spent six years running for president put up forty million dollars in his own money.

Up until last week he thought he knew exactly what was gonna happen all of a sudden he loses.

South Carolina we set the all time record we carried 43 out of 46 counties.

The people's South Carolina came together.

They said Newt Gingrich can debate Barack Obama and win the presidency.

And they said Mitt Romney is by the standards of Republicans and liberal he was pro gun control pro abortion pro tax increase as governor.

And so -- lost I think what you have is a very rattled.

Romney campaign which is floundering and and they don't have any way to build him up because they can't talk about his record as governor.

They can't talk about what he did during the Reagan bush years -- -- repudiated them.

You voted for Paul Saunders a democratic primary in 92.

He gave money to Democrats in 1992.

So -- can't go back can compete with me so always doing now is piling on as much mud -- he confined.

To see if he has somehow -- the Gingrich campaign -- -- US 6000 people of Naples as we did last night.

I don't think he's going to be very successful stopping the people of Florida from voting for a conservative.

I know I know -- apart -- -- my kids have actually played tennis tournaments there and and so I got to imagine it probably was pushed back to the tennis court to get that many people are.
