-- Clayton Morris with your fox -- take this we don't want to talk to you about Apple's big textbook announcement and take a closer look at the new software for textbooks.

As well as their iBooks authoring software and iTunes university let's dive in and show you some of the highlights.

Crystal apple released iBooks to which is their digital Opel -- software.

Can now download that through the App Store for free and textbooks now part of this experience -- partnered with three different textbook publishers K through twelve.

To bring interactive digital experiences to the textbook field.

So this way you can now have video images photos text.

All sorts of interactive elements with inside of the book.

I only wish I had this growing up I would pay closer attention one of the great features about these new books.

Is the note taking experience right within attacks that can highlight different features I can put in certain notes that I -- -- keep.

And one of the best features of all.

Is the flash cards feature they're calling it steady cards now what every you highlighted.

Will be transferred right in to a study flash -- one of the things -- really like about the interactive features in the book.

Is -- sure I can be reading text.

What if I just wanna get rid of some of those interactive movie elements and just focus on the written word well and holding the book in landscape mode you see the interactive element over here.

But -- turn it -- -- perhaps we'd normally read a book it puts it over in the left hand column.

And -- -- away from the text so if I wanna go back to that particular image or video it's right here to my left.

Okay so let's talk about the software and you have a great idea for a book a novel even.

Sitting on and waiting to -- for the longest time and you want to include videos and pictures now you have the opportunity to do that.

With the iBooks author software and it takes about six steps and puts it into one software program on the Mac let's take a look.

When you first launch -- you get six different templates you could pick from.

Basic contemporary modern type classic editorial warcraft that's just a basic.

In to see all the elements that are currently hearing to re -- my book.

-- titled chapters I can create a book book titled pull my own pictures writing here I can drag pictures around.

So let's say one at a movie or different photo here simply go to the media section click on media.

My photos come up here -- personal photos and I can drag them right -- side.

Of this area and I'm on my next chapter.

Once I'm done incredibly easy to publish the book just by coming up here.

And hitting published I can also test to see how it looks by connecting my iPad right to the computer to see how it looks on the iPad -- -- -- -- Go through the terms and conditions and it's available in the -- Let's talk now about iTunes university free courses -- major universities.

Right in iTunes well now Apple's taken the next step and launched an app for the iPad.

It enables you to download courses write your iPad or your iPhone let's take a look.

I can choose the courses I want by hitting the catalog button and it takes me to thousands of free courses from universities around the world.

I've downloaded one I'm actually taking right now it's one that I wanted to take for a while but now I have no excuse not to because it's so easy on the iPad.

Stanford's programming methodology course this is basic programming.

-- one actually learn how to write Java.

So I'm able to watch the lecture here's lesson one for instance lecture one and the lecture pops right out.

I watched the hour lecture tickled and notes I want and all the course material or right there inside.

Of this lecture notes.

ITunes universities -- with all kinds of different programs everything from photography to gardening so if there's a classic you've been meaning you take for years now.

There's really no excuse.
