And I just three short days voters will head to the polls in Florida to select the man that they wanna see face off with President Obama in the general election.

As frank was explained in our last segment Thursday's debate in Florida is like -- to have a big impact on that result.

And it just a moment I will be joined by former Pennsylvania senator and presidential candidate Rick Santorum he had a very strong performance in Jacksonville last night.

And he wasn't shy about going after the two men currently leading the field wants us.

These two gentlemen who are out to distracting from the most important this is we have by playing -- personal politics can we set aside that new.

It was a member of congress and use the skills that he.

Developed as a member of congress to go out and buys companies and that's not the worst thing in the world and that Mitt Romney is a wealthy guy because you were -- he's gone out and working hard.

And you see guys leave that alone and focus.

-- senators impressive showing comes just days after reports circulated that he was considering dropping out of the race but here to clear the air the man himself presidential candidate Rick Santorum senator welcome back.

Thanks John's going to be with -- say you know.

I know where that's -- from we've actually traced -- it's coming from the White House because they're they're afraid that out there were the one that's gonna come out of this race.

And and if you look at the present State of the Union Address.

He led.

With that pathetic program but at least he led with the idea of trying to revitalize manufacturing and -- doing something about the Reagan Democrats that are leaving him in droves.

And they will be based on the track record I have -- the policy that I put out are made in the USA plan.

We have we have a tailor made message.

For where Obama's Achilles heel is in those states did you just mentioned Indiana and North Carolina and Pennsylvania Ohio and Michigan.

We're very excited about the the Obama administration -- worried about our campaign.

All right blood to now they traced all back humbled -- glad you're able to shed some light on it and it's not -- not getting out of the race.

Part a reply and also look at.

That's you know just you know semi tonight after this program.

I'm gonna be gonna tell a town hall meeting in Missouri another one and a Colorado and another one.

After midnight in Nevada so.

We're we're we're we're focused on on not just Florida but the rest of the states where hiring staff.

We just today alone we've raised almost a quarter million dollars but we're doing great and we feel very very good about how this campaign's going.

I thought there with three -- for its very actually going back to Iowa I spoke TU.

And I remember asking you senator I thought you had really great appearances in the polls.

Sorry in the debates why haven't your poll numbers came come up.

He's set to they said Sean I'm steady -- eventually people come back to me and you turned out.

Winning Iowa to the little time to find out the results -- you you did win Iowa.

I thought he had three really good moments last night what does the one we just played.

Get a very interesting exchange of thought with Mitt Romney and I thought you gave one of them the best answers about the fundamental documents and principles.

Of this country and our founders and our framers and that -- did that this is basically where created by god.

That -- -- come from god I thought those really powerful land so let's -- you explain that as well as anybody my thought.

While thank you you know that's something that.

If people always talk about you know Rick -- the social conservative candidate we'll know -- you know you because you talk about faith and family but as -- heard last night.

When I talk about -- -- talk about faith doesn't talk about America.

The faith that America is a moral enterprise because.

-- -- as as I said the declaration of independence is our founding document it is what if America is all about.

-- what the constitution was created to do is one thing really which is to protect the rights that our declaration.

Recognize come from our creator and that the role of the government is stiff.

To protect those rights in the family and and their ability to live there.

Writes in conformity with god and God's will and now that's the greatness of America it in and you know you I asked how we're gonna bring America together Sean.

We're gonna bring America to get together by reminding us who we are.

What what we get agree on.

When we can find some sort of foundation that we can agree on that we can start to build a consensus again an American that's what I was trying to lay out last night.

I don't leave and find a better articulation of the American creed then that answer that you gave last night then and kudos to you and Ben Franklin's just said he thought you actually and his focus group thought he won the debate last night.

Let me let me ask you this Governor Palin has put up on her FaceBook.

Cannibals and GOP establishment employ tactics of the left.

That's a title of it.

And she -- she says we watch something very disturbing this week that is the Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan and ninth in the 1970s.

And is fighting the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media.

And the politics of personal destruction to an attack an opponent.

-- -- -- very specifically about -- and she says she doubts that they would use such harsh tactics.

Against Barack Obama.

You think there's some truth in what she's saying.

Well there's there's no doubt that this has been a very nasty campaign.

With between governor Romney and and congressman Gingrich and and there's no doubt also that governor -- you know through the first blow and it's now been -- back and forth.

And I don't think it's reflected well frankly on either one of them and I you know one of the things that I mentioned last night is here they are back and forth throughout the last several debates.

Just throwing personal.

Personal charges that -- -- other.

And the more I look at it it it just shows to me that -- unfortunate a lot of the most important issues that we're dealing with and you mentioned health care.

They're really not that different and maybe one of the reasons we're seeing so any personal attacks is there are big differences between them when it comes.

To the issues you agree with her as she said this isn't really about new and and governor Romney.

She says it's more about the GOP establishment.

And the Tea Party grass -- roots independent Americans.

Who are sick of the politics of personal destruction -- interest in division captain of that last night.

And I thought that was one -- the best applause lines of you well and I don't think you intended it to be maybe did I don't know.

But it got the biggest applause so I there's something going on here and I -- -- you're out on the ground.

Your meeting people you're in these debates you're seeing these ads.

Give us your best insight.

I -- I guess I would just say that I think the problem here is that both sides have left have have been sort of going at each other.

You know -- going after you know Bain Capital One and and you know -- income tax and and the life so.

If it was just one sided I think you might he might wanna you you might well make that case but I think unfortunately for.

For both those candidates they've both gotten down and got -- got dirty and and I don't think -- either of them are the better for it I really believe that what we need is to get back to talking about the substance and we did last night that you know.

When I talked about substance with the outta my talked -- -- -- would Mitt Romney.

You know we think we cleaned their clocks on on health care and on.

On on on TARP and some other things that that we have some very serious disagreements.

And where I didn't create a better contrast.

-- -- private sector model on a bottom up approach like -- talked about our founders approach and how we're gonna build a great country yet all right it's.

You know what I have a funny feeling this is gonna go on for quite awhile.

Thank you senator from B Willis appreciate your time tonight.

Well you can count on me I'm going to be there for a long time where planet for way way way and have an offense we feel great about this campaign and we're gonna do very well.

All right senator Santorum presidential candidate thanks for being with us coming up next Charles Krauthammer.
