Governor -- so great to be here again thank you for making time -- busy week here in Florida thanks -- -- -- -- what is the biggest challenge -- that people living -- are facing and how different -- -- -- when you were in charge when I was in charge we were.
We were -- -- all soldiers on the economy now the real state.
Market collapsed jobs by for a -- -- -- number one issue there's been some recovery in the last six months.
Which is good.
Good for Floridians and job growth is improving but it's still you know tough time for a lot of people the Hispanic vote.
It's not just in Florida is really important across this country are any of the candidates getting.
Two -- with the message that they want to hear I hope that the candidates recognize that the swing voters in swing states.
We're gonna determine who the next president is -- fifteen states that really -- up for grabs and if you look at those states every one of them the fastest growing.
Segment of the population.
Or Hispanic voters everyone -- not just Florida.
But North Carolina.
Colorado New Mexico.
Maybe and maybe even New Hampshire I don't know -- they want anything different and other American built but they want to be treated like with respect that's the misnomer is that Hispanics.
Have set agenda that's unique to everybody else as one of the most popular and most successful governors you left the tremendous surplus.
When you left office here.
Have any of the candidates come to you and said.
How you do that.
I -- to do it -- as president would the model even work I don't know state income tax.
There's other ways to collect revenue.
You don't have to products for free peoples money do.
-- government that serves people you know I've worked with.
Governor Romney and speaker Gingrich on policy issues think they're committed to pretty good ideas.
So not all that translates to Washington because.
We have a balanced budget amendment.
Florida I'm proud of the fact that Florida went from double -- credit to AAA.
Because we put these things in place and some of those things if they were applied to Washington you could quickly see a reduction in in the deficits -- states is capable of growing at 4% per year.
For a decade of time that would solve this problem more than.
X appropriating people's money and creating class warfare and spending -- or through government to try to solve problems those policies didn't work.
It's time to try some different -- both sides agree to a balanced budget why shouldn't be required.
Well the states are in the process of changing that and hopefully that will be a constitutional amendment because three quarters of the states approve it.
That would be fantastic in our debt now is over -- percent of our GDP.
We look more like Kris that we want to admit and people realize that Greece is on the path to bankruptcy so my hope is that.
The next president -- -- this one has decided he's not going to lead in this regard.
Figures out a way to put aside the partisanship.
To find what was called the grand -- As we needed it's not a question of we whether we want it or not we there is no other option and generate the same time.
We still have incredible people doing incredible things I don't think this is a problem the American people.
I think this is a problem of dysfunctional government right now what is the right -- aren't social security and which has GOP candidates hazard facing -- Retirement age.
Increase would be appropriate and would solve the problem there is no proposals on the table.
By President Obama and he loses his responsibility and he's basically saying it's not a problem -- Negligence in my mind I'm guessing Ron Paul's proposal is it is.
Libertarian which may not be feasible in the proposals I've seen.
Governor Romney and speaker Gingrich and Santorum made are all within the range of what -- solution would be what was your impression of the State of the Union Address the president.
He's a great speaker so you know kudos for that I'm not sure that's the necessarily a sign of great leadership in this is all designed for re election.
And it's designed to try to create a wedge.
And and strike fear rather than to offer hope it's -- very dramatically different kind of campaign for years ago for President Obama.
If you -- to play a role other than in the White House as the present in the United States.
A lot of people bring your name up to do what -- would you want to play.
I mean even now to be honest with you if President Obama asked me to do some did inviolate principles and I want my country the idea that somehow.
Jon Huntsman was criticized for serving but this is the this is a new thing that's not the way it's been -- -- we need to restore the tradition of service where you never run for president.
-- -- I arrived at this approach what is my time and I intend to stay involved as long as my -- -- for Clinton stay involved but I doubt obvious candidate.
Has a party -- -- -- Now -- I've been asked to help but I have how many times in the last week -- -- -- brokered convention.
I've heard it but man that has a unbelievable scenario would be really hard to do to achieve that is out of the question.
No I think I mean you could you could do it at all four candidates -- -- -- honestly believe that both.
Gingrich and Santorum.
And Romney and Paul all are better candidates now than they were just two months ago in that order.
Have they -- trying to put in that order I think they've all gotten better.
It in different ways you've chosen not to make an endorsement of any of the GOP candidates will you endorse after the Florida primary.
-- might but I felt like given my.
Connectivity to the state that I love it was best to let the voters decide.
