All right by the way with the Dow's close today are we were getting some of statistics into us this is the best close we've had since.
There of the financial crisis in 2008 in other words we're at our highest levels since that period -- can't separate them.
Something like.
-- we have not meanwhile seem to jobless rate this low.
Since just after the president took office on on the number of records happening here so will the jobs numbers make it harder for any of these guys to beat him to a guy's been in there.
Choose the former presidential candidate Mike.
Sort of got that it TV so I think that Merrill's street this weekend as -- to Robin in all of us prompter readers.
He is -- book is in paperback a simple government.
Where he says I'm simply better than any -- -- Governor very could have effects of I never said that yes he did but there is true or not at -- what do you make it it does put the opposition party in a bit of a conundrum here.
It's a tough spot for the Republicans because they don't wanna go out and say these numbers don't really mean any thing it's not true.
Because those -- the same numbers that they're gonna have to live with and so that's not a good thing but in politics -- like channel seeker what you do.
When something looks good for your opponent very specifically you back often talk about general things when things look good generally foreign.
You push him and make things that are very specific so in this case.
Don't argue with the numbers don't say -- numbers aren't true because that sounds like -- sour it's almost like you.
-- are unhappy that more people gone back to work you don't want to come across that way.
What you do it is today might feel that.
Well you shouldn't feel that -- you oughta be glad that everybody.
Who has gotten a job is now employed that's a wonderful thing is generally they didn't have to have -- that they have to be gunning.
And hoping the economy at least stuck in them.
Well.
Yeah he -- not stuck in a moderate political interest I think what they wanna see is that the effect of Obama's over regulation.
And too much government.
Is actually having a long term impact it events.
But on gas prices in milk and meat and bread prices so now's the time for the Republicans to say we're grateful.
That the -- unemployment rate is finally dropping.
After three years of waiting for Obama's -- prop Obama's promises to take hold because he's three years late delivery.
But you know -- -- happening out there for a lot of American families.
They still can't afford to fill up their tank they still can't afford to -- more than half -- love for Brad at a time.
They still can't afford more than a quarter note not the half gallon they use they use to buy because all those things are up more than they were.
When he took office and that's why we needed -- president so you still have plenty of things to run on but you don't try to take away from him.
The fact that he's got some good news -- and -- it that's fine.
Okay the president did delivered an and he does have this argument you know I'll just stick with mean we're we're we're turning to Ben things are better than -- -- we mentioned that.
Oh it financial crisis that really separate it is whole election if you think about it because the polls were either between you and Senator McCain prior to that eruption.
So now what what what what it Republicans do to counter that saved the argument look over here not at the jobs thing.
Wouldn't and -- be wise to mention the jobs thing that we're we're still net net down and job.
Sure and I think it's also fair to say that the president told us that with the stimulus.
We would -- be under 8% and never go above it.
We we're we're celebrating that we're only point 3% above 8% after three years of -- tinkering around with the engine this is a -- that still sputtering.
This is not a car that you put on the Indy track and expect to go over sixty miles an hour.
So all -- we can celebrate is that it's actually coughed a little bit.
And it it's bump and down the road but it's a long way from a race car and that's I think a very fair assessment for the Republicans tonight.
So that in the White House that there -- actually.
Delighting in the disarray among Republicans and this -- is -- potentially lengthy battle for the nomination of course they are.
But I always discovered that in the end parties.
It's certainly their -- and exceptions rally around the winner and now we have one individual -- gets another individual leaving aside third party possible.
And then we're off to the races when -- what when you.
Both parties will rally around their nominee the election is won or lost by about 15% of the people in the middle.
Who are not hardcore Democrats are not hardcore Republican you know all this talk about well what will this process of the primary make it harder for a Republican to be elected.
Now because the Republicans.
Even though they -- they're gonna have some anger about their guy didn't win and they -- some of the things that the guy said about their guy that -- -- part of it it was four years ago and eight years ago and and always will be.
-- when he gets down to it they'll ask the question had -- rather this Republican -- Barack Obama be president all the Republicans come home.
The question is can they do it enthusiastically.
It's going to be an intensity issue.
But the real battle is which of these candidates Barack Obama -- the Republican nominee can convince that independent voter.
That could go either way voter.
That this is a time you've got to elect me and not the other guy that's where it's one not but the hardcore -- not but the hardcore Republicans.
How did you -- Merrill -- to be -- -- -- I told her that you were gonna be there to greener and she was so pumped that you -- going to be -- -- -- now you're mocking me she went completely beside herself but I guy will say that's a great guest there's very few people that I have been so completely jazzed about.
Meryl Streep is is just amazing -- this film the cheese and the iron lady about Margaret Thatcher is a terrific.
Reminder that the strongest leaders among us are still very human and I think people will be amazed at her performance but also be moved by the story.
Our coverage only for the next week the governor has the Pope.
Don't wanna miss stuff that I got Huckabee 8 PM tomorrow night in the means.
