Luckily we've got -- -- Starr is us sitting here now joining us now.

And hello yeah.

-- and and -- his topic today is going to be his brand new book dispatches from bitter.

America.

And no he is not actually saying that Americans are bitter that as a reference to President Obama.

Talking about these bitter people clinging to their guns and whatever and -- -- and says that he himself is a gun toting chicken eating son of a Baptist.

That's me yeah.

Is I don't think -- better I feel pretty pretty happy.

Yet this this book has been a lot of fun I started writing -- back in 2008.

That's when President Obama made that comment he was running for office in a private gathering in San Francisco.

These -- the people who cling to their guns and religion are better Americans I got to thinking about that -- yet because I'm from the south as you know what.

Most of my example today they cling to their guns and they they also -- a lot of chicken on the go to church and sometimes they do all 31 time.

But but that that is don't seem all that.

Better and I.

So I would on this journey across the country and I talk to regular folks to find out what -- -- really thinking what they're really feeling and the find out if in fact they really were better.

And what I discovered was that that most Americans are clinging to their guns and their that their bibles because there for the government's going to take them away.

So at the end of the day I don't think Americans are better at all.

I do believe that in 2008 what we saw was the first -- in this war on class that the classes and that we've seen.

Which is just sort of been snowballing.

And I suspect it could get pretty Dicey as we move towards 4012.

So the culture war is really is what you're referring to.

And and yeah so we what -- some of these specific -- -- talk about -- about how a lot of fun stories and tiger operating in the works above Art Buchwald and Molly Ivins.

Very liberal commentators and I didn't necessarily agree with their philosophies as a as a junior high school students.

I was in one of these odd -- kids they'd like to read that kind of stuff.

But I appreciated the fact they were able to get their points across.

-- Using a sense of humor and that's what I try to do it in and dispatches.

So what we have 240 pages filled with crazy stories for example.

What did it taste of what the president Obama's policies that he wanted to implement and I -- what would happen if in -- they had been.

There's one of the guys.

What a bizarre is wanted to give animals the right to sue human beings and courts.

So I I took that to the extreme and I have a story set in the future where.

We're yours truly was.

-- was put on trial and convicted for the mass genocide of countless chickens.

And -- as a result of my love of fried chicken.

And through the course of that trial I try to expose some of -- just idiocy.

That's that's emanating from Washington DC.

Another story and there are -- member of the automobile bailout -- how the president was.

There was concern at the time to the president does Mike quite frankly bail out any kind of investments regardless of what was so I haven't aficionado.

Barbie -- and I set up a story that's that transpired just after -- Swine Flu outbreak decimated them nations -- -- industry.

So I have a story about the president appointing a pork bizarre to say the barbecue industry it was so well.

That they decided to hire a poultry is -- hard to save the nation's chicken industry after a bird flu outbreak you want to -- although the policy cash for clunkers.

-- -- -- Over -- -- don't run desolate beauty that but look -- but the point of this book is two exits to defend the honor of all the better players out there is Rush Limbaugh says.

Sean Hannity endorse the book -- Gretchen Carlson from FOX & Friends.

Wrote a wonderful endorsement of the book and we also has some great interviews of people like Paula -- and and Sean Hannity Mike Huckabee.

Americans who who live the American dream Betty grow up the super rich.

They Negroponte working class homes and they -- embrace their dream and they went on to two so it's a little bit.

-- and that's what this book is all about.

I have to tell you that that this book is all a happy note a note of encouragement because we know that ultimately true hope and change does not come from 16100 Pennsylvania Avenue.

It comes from.

Average Americans working hard loving their country loving their families and loving they're gone.

And working together to make this a most exceptional country.

And that it is so in your travels did you come across people who.

Disagreed vehemently with the point you're trying to make here I did but I -- put them -- the books and they could -- -- write their own.

Well I've been restored -- -- did though and it's really funny because this -- -- we're we're trying to have some book signings that your New York City we're launching a twenty city to work.

No we're gonna be starting his -- back and work your way across the country.

And that we -- -- has a book signing here New York.

And oddly enough we had a half a dozen bookstores band my book.

They've banned not just the signing yeah.

Even expanded their right to carry the -- candidate one of them actually my publisher sent me an email -- -- I had framed upstairs in my office you're the Fox News corner.

And they they said that my book does not promote.

Tolerance and diversity.

So there's a chapter about -- about that about how the most tolerant in our society are in fact the least to call her it's how we don't -- national chains.

So we're talking about all of the larger independent bookstores -- that are here so.

And you know what it's a great.

You know I think you.

I think it's sad but I think it's really illustrates a point to that that we are living in a very we -- that time in this country.

Can we talk about president Obama's war on religion.

And I write about that it's in this book and just in the past couple months we have seen that particular battle escalate.

-- -- now the president and the administration are going after Catholics and Christians over contraception.

So lots of stories like that in this book.

All right sounds interesting Todd starring Zach thank you and if you would like to find out where you can get the book or even catch taught in person at a book signing you cannot go -- well there's -- the book looks like dispatches from bitter America.

And you can find out more about it on -- -- dot com thank you again Todd.
