To every corner of the country.
We're gonna we're gonna stand united as a party behind our nominee.
To defeat Barack Obama and restore the values that made America the greatest nation in the -- -- -- Okay.
About three years ago.
You may remember Barack Obama came to Colorado to accept his party's nomination.
For the presidency.
And he he read -- -- a huge stadium he he got a little styrofoam Greek columns are that -- -- -- two giant TV screens that set the mode.
And on that big day here in Denver he made them even bigger promises.
-- that the Democrat had a different measure of what constitutes progress.
And an -- when added to fight -- he said look under his definition progress would be measured.
By how many people can find a job that pay a mortgage that was his definition.
Now what happened.
More Americans have lost their jobs during president Obama's term than during any other president in modern history and more Americans have lost -- -- During president Obama's term than during any other in modern history under his own definition President Obama has failed we will -- Okay.
And that same speech he -- not the fighting and defining progress she won -- Andy's -- progress to be determined by again quote -- that the average American family saw its income go up.
Is that -- down.
And in the last four years the median income in this country has fallen by about ten per cent.
Again by his own definition President Obama has failed we will -- it.
Went on to say that we can measure progress.
By determining whether someone with a good idea can a -- and start a business.
What happened to small business in this country during -- Obama's turn.
There were almost 100000.
Fewer new business start up this last year and a word -- -- -- before President Obama came to office.
-- by his own definition.
President Obama has failed and we will see -- Okay.
One more promise.
Candidate Obama said that we could see progress in an economy.
That honors the dignity of work.
Now under President Obama the average duration of unemployment has more than double.
And there are some fourteen million more people on food stamps today -- but he took office.
Again by president Obama's own definition.
He has failed and we -- see it.
Now this week.
This week you heard President Obama on TV -- he deserves a second term because and I quote we made progress.
-- all Mr.
Under the definition definition of progress you made right here four years ago in Denver you have not made progress three years ago.
President Obama just after his inauguration.
Evidently couldn't turn the economy around in three years he'd be looking at a one term proposition and we are here to collect we're gonna.
And a moment in time.
When our country is crying out for fundamental change and reform.
Washington cannot former health.
And Washington will never be reform.
By those have been compromised by the culture of Washington.
The clear choice.
I'm the only per in this race Republican or Democrat who never served a day -- -- in Washington.
In the world I come from.
Leadership is about starting a business.
Not try to get a bill out of committee.
-- -- over and over that this campaign is more about.
Changing the soul of America or protected all of America in the -- of America that is about changing a president.
We all know that in our hearts that the -- of this nation can be corrupted.
By a Washington's culture of reckless spending.
Voted to raise their own -- -- that they support term limits and then running for reelection time after time after time.
That Washington that we have to change and when I'm president we will.
This does not Obama -- continue to do business as usual.
This is not a moment when we can expect those in Washington to realized suddenly that they've been wrong all the time and -- get it right time.
This time for real change in Washington.
Fundamental bold dramatic change.
Now I stand before you -- lead this party.
And lead the nation.
-- let businesses.
I had the chance that helping to lead state.
President Obama recently said he's learning.
We say he's learning too little and too late.
The president say the president is not a place to learn how to lead.
It's a -- exercise the judgment and leadership that has been learned over a lifetime.
And that's precisely what I will do and.
I know that.
Another bad -- are concerned about our future.
Over the last thirty years I can't tell you how many times I've heard the situation is hopeless or -- long list of reason something can't be done.
But I never been very good -- that those people and I've always enjoyed proven them wrong.
Some of the lessons I learned my dad.
My father never graduated from college.
He would try to as they've laughed and plaster carpenter and pretty good -- -- -- to take a handful of males.
-- given -- about.
And and then you know get him out morning and forward.
His honeymoon he put aluminum paint in the trunk of the car and all that along the way to to pay for the death of the hotels.
There are a lot of reasons why my father could -- given up and that is -- a lot lower.
But my dad believed that America.
And the American he believed in Alaska and -- guy can work to be become -- of a car company.
And a guy -- old aluminum -- out of his car -- and that being governor in one of the state or that group in the campaign.
-- -- Okay.
For my -- for hundreds of thousands millions of others like him and let my mom as well this was the land of opportunity.
Where the circumstance of birth.
Was no barrier to being able to -- wonder a -- one strain.
In -- America.
On the -- this great courage and respected.
The spirit of enterprise and innovation and daring do propelled our standard of living and our economy -- -- of every nation on the planet.
-- -- -- belief.
That America is just another place on the map with a flag.
We stand for freedom.
And hope and opportunity.
These last few years.
Have been the best of times.
But what we've lost a few years.
Now lost our way.
The principles that made the greatest nation on earth and the leader of the world.
Have not -- -- meaning.
They never well.
We know -- can bring this country back.
I believe in America.
In this election.
-- fight for the America we loved.
Because we believe in America and a founding principles thank you so much.
