Welcome back everybody well it looks like a two man race in Maine today between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul the only two candidates campaigning.

There today congressman Paul has spent a lot of time in Maine over the past few weeks and is hoping that this was -- will result in his first primary win.

Congressman Paul is joining me now from a caucus site in that new Gloucester -- welcome congressman great to have you here today.

Thank you nice to be -- let me ask you how do you feel it's all going up in Maine right now what are your expectations.

I'm feel very good we're gonna do very well but I am not going to make an absolute prediction of what's going to happen but I know we have a very good chance of winning that.

We're gonna have to wait and count the votes.

-- this mean for you going forward if you do win the main caucuses knowing that this is something that you can ride in terms of momentum and headlines.

Well obviously would be a great benefit we've been doing well second and third I think -- mutilating delegates.

But again.

First place it means delegates as well as it means a little bit of momentum.

So it would do a lot and since.

It seems like the primaries pretty much in disarray and you know our -- -- low people are desperately looking for the alternative to.

Obama so.

Hopefully this will help that the direction of the party after tonight.

Let me ask you this you know I've been out about the -- back folks this week and your absence has been noted -- -- by people who have been.

Participating in the conference why did -- choose to opt out of -- -- this time around.

Well -- seven I did a couple months ago because I I knew we were going to be very busy in the campaign and a lot of traveling.

And the dependency on young people that we galvanize and get energized to come to conventions like this.

I just thought it was better to concentrate on the campaign.

And had decided early on.

That that's what I would do it.

And you want in the seat next -- past couple times and you are not actively seeking.

The straw -- this time.

Is that part of the same strategy.

I would say this is my -- Because it does it involves some time and energy to be available there and you know to energize everybody so.

It it it wasn't so much and a native as just a part of our plane on and where we should just spend my time.

They made that choice about not participating -- trouble going lower if you don't win in Maine what does that do to the campaign are you still planning to.

Ride it out only the convention.

Well it.

I I I doubt if tonight's gonna make a decision for me to drop out to ride all the way to the convention is a different story.

But we're we're working hard to accumulate delegates -- end tonight.

We're gonna get more delegates is no doubt about it so I don't think this is a defining moment.

We can pull -- off and -- it it will give us a tremendous boost.

And that's what we're hoping for -- Bob great to see you all the best you good luck.

Thank you very much --
