Entertainers to join the scene Herbie Hancock Darren -- as we said Tony Bennett just the list goes on -- -- line.

And -- the red carpet still very much -- -- as everyone is talking about this I got a tweet from one of our viewers earlier saying that.

You know maybe it's not fair to describe it as a party like atmosphere here and I don't know that it's necessarily a party like atmosphere I am sure.

That up all of the people that are coming out for this event are inside.

But I -- it again sort of set the scene for you outside of the Beverly Hilton hotel because there are.

So many people out here -- general members of the public that have come out here they have the -- phones they have their cameras around their neck they are.

Snapping photos to document this moment in history I hate to keep making the parallel of Michael Jackson but I I cover that.

From top to bottom the moment the news came down that he had passed away right down to the funeral and then some of the court proceedings along with my colleague -- Adam Housley when his Doctor Conrad Murray was on trial just a few months back.

And there are eerie eerie similarities to this because.

The news is so shocking Michael Jackson the King of Pop Paris you said it earlier you know Whitney Houston was the queen of pop if you will.

And the news is really just spreading like wildfire and you have so many people not only Los Angeles resident Beverly Hills residence.

But also a lot of tourist you know LA is the second largest city in the country everybody comes -- Hollywood's.

To get a glimpse of the Hollywood sign and two to make the rounds and see all of that the tourist destinations.

It's a Saturday night.

It is very busy.

The eve of the grammys and a lot of folks from the it all over the country in fact are out here you know some of these people look my photographer can pan over there some of these people here are get radioed to run across the street now obviously there is a heavy police presence here.

-- heavy security presence and they are not allowing.

You know members of the public even members of the press up.

Very close to where all of the activities are going on but it is a true circus outside of this hotel.

Very busy hotel by the way the Golden Globes were just held here not long ago this is very famous a lot of celebrities stay at this hotel when they -- LA.

And when they come to Hollywood I wanna talk Harris kind of walk you through the timeline and know that we're sort of repeating ourselves a little bit for our viewers that are watching us continuously but.

We are having new viewers joining us all of the time and there are a lot of reports out there.

About the last several nights and -- what Whitney Houston was up to the last several -- one of her last public appearances.

Was Thursday when she was -- the true Hollywood club -- an R&B party there.

And one of our celebrity analysts earlier was saying that.

Some photos were snapped -- of -- -- against the event looking.

Beautiful and looking quite well but she came out with her daughter her leg was bleeding she had scratches on her -- she looked disoriented.

You know.

I know we need to be careful in our reporting about.

Alleged drug use here has some people have indicated that she was trying to get her life back on track but she did not look well when she was leaving that club.

Thursday night than last night Friday night.

From insiders at the Beverly Hilton hotel here where again Whitney was staying.

That -- -- -- large group of her friends were partying in the hotel bar.

And you know it's not uncommon for high profile people as we said to be here and to be having a good time.

But some of the the people inside that that solve this said that the crowd was very boisterous they were drinking heavily and they appeared to be you know partying quite heavily and that was last night.

So a little bit of a better idea from some of the accounts in terms of what she was up to the last few nights.

Leading up to the big party tonight that she was supposed to attend -- Clive Davis event and then of course the grammys tomorrow -- It's got to be so careful here and I'm certainly you know that's one thing about the virtual world Casey you mentioned you get automatic feedback from viewers and and we do wanna -- not to speculate because we don't know.

But it it just kind of puts things into context.

The life that the superstar like that these celebrities live.
