US officials say Iran is preparing small boats to launch suicide attacks against American ships in the Persian gulf.

National correspondent Steve Centanni reports tonight on one part of the US force in the region that you might not be aware off.

After six Iranians were rescued in the Persian gulf last month even the head of the Coast Guard admitted some folks were puzzled a lot of questions -- the US coast are there.

But still the coast guard's mission remains very dangerous -- again be any different than the soldier -- soldier being on the -- And over in Iraq or Afghanistan in 2004 coast Guardsmen was killed by a terrorist attack on the navy vessel.

The painful price of conflict -- even by the least recognized of America's warriors.
