What can we do about it operation mobilization is an organization that picked up on this.
They and -- 118 countries in the world they have projects all over.
And solely identified some projects that are all about empowering.
And reducing the vulnerability of women in the majority world -- in the developing -- I'm that was the point -- purpose is just trying to.
Be the voice for those that don't -- points and so we have.
-- eighteen -- and what to like -- and a grandmother -- You -- it fun pet oh yeah half.
And we are -- -- I was 73 how the whole point purpose was just women claiming for women movement all right so.
Madison and you're young.
But obviously concerned about this issue what what what is it about this issue that strikes you.
Well -- -- -- For a few handfuls came from past and abuse we have some rape victims and at -- -- -- Hewitt come out of trafficking she was sold into trafficking.
And I was coming from the excited that I've had it.
Less life had been so privileged I had a father who -- mean a fan in me my whole life and the safest place in the -- for me is my -- but there are girls here they're bad as a place of danger and destruction and -- death and disease and I can be statistic and I'm not so what am I gonna do with that emanated and I -- work from my parents success or am I gonna go and be servant and and go to the ends of the world and help those who need my help and sell my heart was ignited.
And I am so privileged and so gifted to be a part of that -- for you know.
So -- -- why Mount Kilimanjaro.
You know it was.
-- station that humans -- -- Begin when it.
It signified a mountain that -- peek at it is improve the peak and then stands for freedom it's just it's amazing press if -- to the top of his peak.
And be able to represent the freedom of women in -- that are oppressed around the world.
So that particular -- was -- beast and yeah -- just and it was a tough mountain and going up there and getting to the top and that was just incredible.
Did everybody think.
I'll bet the majority did we have some great statistics we had 90% of the women actually some exit so that's incredible now that's -- essentially.
I'm happy you didn't just you know let's just all gather and -- there was preparation.
Rigorous preparation yeah.
Well first of all the thing questioning just.
You you get this vision and then you say okay when I do it you start tying -- -- amazing how we were able to gather at 48 women.
Just the United States from ten different states -- -- from ten different country from me so then you get this all put together and trying to about many women together none.
Do you can imagine.
-- -- -- -- -- -- And so.
It was and then the preparation you know in these galaxies are from Florida where today I'm from California we have mountains Florida they weren't going to the highest paid -- they can find a lot.
Just getting out there and putting your feet on the ground and just walking walking now the altitude with what -- Which ends would try to get as high as you possibly can.
With the key because your your lungs have to adjust to the changes in the air yeah so you you have -- -- puzzle how long did it taped it to do.
-- -- -- four and a half days that one and a half very quick do you.
So -- an important thing here is to make sure that this climb translated into awareness of the human trafficking how did you make sure.
That would be declined meant to ask that event that the word got out from -- It was Helio is -- I think this is so grassroots it just -- -- immediately definitely think that really when the women started.
You know -- a woman telling a woman telling a woman telling a woman and then it just started going to that viral world it just started spreading.
And as I mentioned so many people are completely unaware of the magnitude.
You know I mean there's so much more to it than just trafficking trafficking is a huge part of it just modern day slavery -- your -- of one -- You know when you look at it I'm maternal death it's just because of lack of health care and some of these countries and stuff.
Oh and by the way the safest place to give birth Ireland -- And so as we're going.
I thought I had somebody I -- know let us know what that.
But just trying to get out there and that's how it's and it's just been a very grassroots people telling people and has.
Opportunities such as this vehicle and have you.
Invited -- to -- become aware educate yourself.
-- great but some of the State Department and this this was very happy.
Trafficking in persons report you can Google that the State Department and it challenged you know which countries are.
They -- tears you either went toward three United States is the one we know we have a problem.
This is what we're doing about it this case as we know -- have a problem we're making efforts of three says we really have a problem and we're not really doing anything about it so.
Becoming aware and those manners I think is really key and critical of our responsibility for quickly appointment so -- them.
