There are concerns within the Republican Party and that the candidates still.
It.
Are not on firm footing so to speak and those who are.
Rick Santorum supporters though at this moment are very happy because he is ahead in some of the polls.
Folks who are backing Mitt Romney a bit concerned about how he's gonna do it is loans to home state of Michigan -- joining us now we have.
Coverage if that is the Cotter who is joining us we're via remote app from Detroit and I know that.
You are.
Severe and supporting mr.
Romney a very big way how concerned are you about what happens in Michigan.
I think everybody's concern I think the Romney camp that the Santorum and Gingrich Ron Paul -- though the importance of Michigan this primary.
Especially as we've seen mixed results across the country in different states.
None of these candidates are taking any -- for granted and I think that's.
As we've seen in many other instances.
You may see a late break to one candidate or another hopefully in my case I'm hoping it's just around.
But at the same time though there are those within the party who are very concerned and saying that if he doesn't carry his home state.
This is really going to need unnerved me not going to forward because there are those who would suggest that.
Perhaps only weighs just find some solution all of this -- a brokered convention I and I would be far away even though that would be a big you know long shot.
At this point.
The fact there even -- that talk continues.
Even at this stage of the game so early on -- Just traveling you.
-- I said in my big government post yesterday I think that this such elitism that we see out of many in the Washington beltway has actually antithetical to look the Republican Party stands for.
We have to respect the decisions of the candidates -- entered this takes a lot of courage to go through a process like this especially is bruising and brutal as we're seeing now.
It takes a lot of dedication for their supporters and for their voters to show up the caucuses official often primaries and vote.
And to have these people in the establishment start to say that they would really rather be.
The ones who picked the candidate -- the actual electorate than the actual sovereign American citizens who are members of the Republican Party strikes me as fundamentally repugnant.
Plus -- -- you're talking that at the end elitism.
Many would view it that way because.
There are those within the Republican establishment.
Who feel that they are the ones that ultimately are the king makers and all of this and and -- do you think of the party is it is trying to you know is at odds with itself at the moment trying to figure out.
Just look at what direction to go at this point.
First the country rejected -- ships.
About 230 odd years ago on another we should -- adopted within the Republican Party.
The Party of Lincoln and Reagan -- also point out the many of the same geniuses today.
We're probably those has said that Ronald Reagan was too conservative be our nominee and may have supported John Anderson in 1980s.
As for the Republican Party what we're seeing is a primary have much like every primary that takes place at every level of government.
You're seeing people differentiate themselves to can be brutal it can be painful because it's a fight within the family.
But at the end of the day it is up to the members of the pardon the grassroots to make their determination as -- should be our standard bearer.
In the end we will come out healthy we will come -- united whoever the nominee it's.
How do you account for Rick santorum's.
Recent rise in the -- at the moment.
I think -- and a lot of hard work -- shown a lot of dedication.
He and I were in similar situations many time in many ways and I left the race he persevered.
And now he is being seen as a conservative club for alternative.
To mr.
Romney I personally believe admits that -- background in business is what's going to be the key to beating President Obama but again.
As a Republican I'm content with any of the four who have the courage -- -- of the primary season -- -- -- the support to get where they are today and the wherewithal.
To be the final four contenders only one of them must be our standard bearer.
And I think we -- all unite behind them as long as the elites in Washington don't try.
To decide who run nominee's going to be behind closed doors.
The fact that mr.
sandstorm in some -- ten points ahead.
It is surprising to a lot of folks who really expected.
-- your candidate to be.
You know on firmer ground.
At this stage of the game since he has done.
Well in past days and dad he seems to be.
More confident on the campaign trail he seems to be asserting himself in ways that some folks had hoped he would going to be talking more about his personal experiences personal story.
Trying to connect -- voters.
Does it bother you yet says -- that at this point that.
There are those who feel.
That mr.
Romney still is not.
Asserting himself in a way that would you please.
True conservatives of this country.
Very.
Well as -- -- people -- this -- a lot of candidate doesn't at the end of the day -- -- to the candidate to make those decisions and to put those.
Decisions into operations and will -- the voters now look governor Romney has always said this is going to be a marathon and in many ways.
It's not only shows his understanding of over the Republican party's.
Breath and diversity of opinion within itself.
Different states are different different counties are different different.
Voters themselves in the same home may be different.
And so the appeal by some be it correctly admit we have Ron -- news for individual voters is the key.
And you'll see different results in different places you don't get too high when you win in New Hampshire or Florida and you don't get too low.
When you see the -- delegates states like Minnesota and Colorado.
And Missouri go -- -- So at the end of the day you have to persevere in what is going to be very long haul to and I think rightly -- her on the nomination of our party to be -- ten Americans President Obama.
The -- you -- quick last question.
If if mr.
Romney has not win Michigan and do you think he can still win the nomination.
Good you'll have the support of mainstream Republican.
Dick Cheney once that -- don't -- to answer hypotheticals because it implies -- somehow that's going to be predetermined outcome.
Every day here Michigan's a battle every candidate Romney team included knows that every vote counts.
And as a Michigan and I'm glad to see the importance is being placed on our State's Republican -- Artists are good to see you as always thank you all the best -- you.
